Julie J. Plopper of Gainesville died Tuesday in Gainesville. She was 84.
Mrs. Plopper was born in Harrisburg, Ill., and moved to Gainesville from Evansville, Ind., in 1994.
She was an editor with the Saturday Evening Post Co.
She was Jewish.
Survivors include two sons, Howard S. Pactor of Gainesville and David Edward Pactor of Cooper City; and three grandchildren.
Alex M. Pulliam Sr.
Alex M. Pulliam Sr. died Dec. 29 at his residence in Jacksonville. He was 90.
The former Newberry resident was an educator and a deacon of Union Baptist Church.
He received a master's degree from the University of Florida.
Local survivors include a son, Duncan B. Pulliam of Newberry.
Orlando Weeks
CHIEFLAND -- Orlando Weeks, a lifelong resident of Chiefland, died Tuesday at Shands at AGH. He was 85.
Mr. Weeks was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Weeks of Chiefland; two daughters, Kathy Baker of Chiefland and LaWanda Thomas of Lake City; two sons, Jimmie Weeks of Chiefland and Ronnie Weeks of Green Cove Springs; a sister, Mary Geiger of Chiefland; and five grandchildren.
Mary Lou Rowe
CHIEFLAND -- Mary Lou Rowe, a lifelong resident of Chiefland, died Sunday at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. She was 92.
Mrs. Rowe's family were pioneers and early settlers of Levy County.
She was a schoolteacher in Levy County for 35 years and a 1951 graduate of the University of Florida.
She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma and the National Education Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett B. Rowe.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Eugenia Rowe of Chiefland; a sister, Amelia Williams Kelly of Jacksonville; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
James W. Wilson
James W. Wilson of Jacksonville died Dec. 30 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville, where he had been a patient for the last three months. He was 75.
Mr. Wilson was a graduate of the University of Florida and a veteran of World War II.
He has no local survivors.
Edward Allen Smith
Edward Allen Smith of Gainesville died Sunday in Gainesville following a sudden illness. He was 53.
Mr. Smith was born in Tampa and moved to Gainesville three years ago.
He was an independent owner and operator in the trucking industry.
Survivors include his wife, Dayle A. Smith of Gainesville; and three sisters, Kathy Manley of Valrico, Lillian Goeachel of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Rebecca Ann Mulligan of Florida.
Barry L. Wyman Sr.
KEYSTONE HEIGHTS -- Barry L. Wyman Sr. died Tuesday at his residence in Keystone Heights following an extended illness. He was 68.
Mr. Wyman was born in Keene, N.H., and moved to Keystone Heights from Marlborough, N.H., in 1959.
He was a machinist at a battery plant and a Sunday school teacher at the Community Church of Keystone Heights.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne C. Wyman of Keystone Heights; a daughter, Robyn Gann of Keystone Heights; three sons, Lance C. Wyman of Brooker, Kevin A. Wyman of Keystone Heights and Barry L. Wyman Jr. of St. Augustine; a sister, Paula Pitz of Swanzey, N.H.; a brother, Whitney C. Wyman Jr. of East Swanzey, N.H.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Theodore Wendell Litchfield
Theodore Wendell Litchfield of Orange Park died Saturday in St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville. He was 77.
Mr. Litchfield, who was born in Waldo, moved to Orange Park in 1965 from Putnam County. He retired in 1988 after 27 years teaching in the Clay County school system. Mr. Litchfield earned a bachelor's degree from Southern University in Collegedale, Tenn., and a master's from the University of North Alabama at Florence.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Litchfield of Orange Park; a sister, Leola Mattingly of Gainesville; and a nephew, Marion Mattingly of Waldorf, Md.

Barb Lowry
Barb Lowry of Gainesville died Saturday at North Florida Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 55.
A native of Mississippi, Ms. Lowry moved to Gainesville from Nashville, Tenn., in 1991.
She was the copy editor of Highlights, the newsletter for the city of Gainesville. She worked for the city for eight years, having received the five-year service award and the Certificate of Leadership.
She attended Park View Baptist Church.
Ms. Lowry was affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous and was sober for 17 years.
A gifted artist, she enjoyed painting.
Survivors include her partner of 12 years, Van McCarver of Gainesville; her mother, Annette Lowry of Kosciusko, Miss.; brothers Richard Lowry of Memphis and Morgan Lowry of Minneapolis; an adopted daughter, Marie Gignilliat of Gainesville; and an adopted grandson, Ian Gray of Gainesville.
Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the St. Francis House.

Sarah Frances Nelson
Sarah Frances Nelson of Gainesville died Saturday at Shands at the University of Florida. She was 78.
Mrs. Nelson was born in Staten Island, N.Y., and came to Gainesville from Willingboro, N.J. about 1990. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Nelson of Gainesville; sons Dr. James Nelson of Gainesville and Jack Nelson of Coral Springs; sisters Anna Beck of South Carolina and Nettie Salmetto of Willingboro, N.J.; a brother, Joe Babbino of Staten Island, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren.

Channing Michael Page
Channing Michael Page of Gainesville died Saturday. He was 27.
Mr. Page was born in Columbia, S.C., and lived in Gainesville for 24 years. He worked for Gainesville Landscape Contractors. He graduated from Buchholz High School in 1993 and attended Santa Fe Community College. He was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church.
Survivors include his mother, Jane Ferrazzi Page of Gainesville; his grandmother, Maxie Baker Ferrazzi of Gainesville; aunts Jo Ann F. Bronson of Hawthorne, Sara F. Webb of Crystal River, Nancy F. Whitfield of Marietta, Ga., and Barbara Kennedy of Pinehurst, N.C.; and uncles Andrew Page and David Page of Southern Pines, N.C.
Mr. Page was preceded in death by his father, Channing Nelson Page.

HAWTHORNE - Barney Clark Prevatt of Hawthorne died Friday in Ocala from an extended illness. He was 42.
Mr. Prevatt, who was born in Gainesville, was a painter.
Survivors include his father, Vernon Prevatt of Lake City; his mother, Thelma Donaldson of Grandin; daughters Jennifer Prevatt of Grandin and Tiffany Prevatt of Jacksonville; a son, Kyle Matukaitus of Keystone Heights; sisters Margaret Fullwood of Hawthorne and Annette Toole of Jacksonville; and a brother, Jacob Green of Grandin.

Billy Wayne Weaver Sr.
OLD TOWN - Billy Wayne Weaver Sr. of Old Town died Friday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City. He was 65.
Mr. Weaver was born in Micanopy and moved to Old Town four months ago. He was an electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1205. Mr. Weaver served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Dale Weaver of Old Town; daughters Carol Williams and Dawn Weaver, both of Old Town; a son, Billy Weaver Jr. of Gainesville; a brother, Wesley Weaver of Micanopy; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Weaver.

Roy James Wilson
FORT WHITE - Roy James Wilson of Fort White died Friday at Shands at the University of Florida following a long illness. He was 82.
Mr. Wilson lived in Fort White all his life. He operated a farm for more than 60 years and was a licensed electrician for many years.
He was a deacon with Elim Baptist Church in Fort White, a member of the Cherry Hill Masonic Lodge No. 12, and he belonged to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union of Gainesville.
Mr. Wilson was a former trustee of the Columbia County School Board in Lake City.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Nell Wilson of Fort White; daughters Judy Phillips of Pensacola, Martha Floyd of High Springs, and Sonja Wilsey of Alachua; son, Russell J. Wilson of Fort White; sisters Idell Cason of Atlanta, Eva Mae Truluck of High Springs and Jean Rowe of Fort White; brothers Dan Wilson of High Springs, Alton Wilson of Fort White, Jack Wilson and Floyd Wilson, both of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
