William Clayton Chronister
William Clayton Chronister of Gainesville died Wednesday in Gainesville. He was 80.
Mr. Chronister was born in Homestead and moved to Gainesville from Stow, Ohio, in 1984.
He was a production worker and a member of Northwood Baptist Church.
He received a Purple Heart for his service in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Sherrie J. Chronister of Gainesville; three daughters, Brenda Koth of Clyde, Ohio, and Myra Dougherty and Susan Howiler, both of Stow, Ohio; two sisters, Helen Marcelli of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Carrie Lane of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Perry Chronister of Stow, Ohio, and Ronnie Chronister of Maryville, Tenn.; six grandchil- dren; and two great-grandchildren.
Nora Lois Davis
Nora Lois Davis died Wednesday at her residence in Gainesville. She was 90.
Mrs. Davis was born in Melrose and lived in Webster and Dunnellon before moving to Gainesville in 1952.
She was a homemaker and a Pentecostal.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jesse W. Davis.
Survivors include three daughters, Nora Lee Warren of Palatka, Helen Davis of Gainesville and Shirley Duggan of Dade City; a son, J.W. Davis Jr. of Tallahassee; a sister, Naomi Indelicato of Gainesville; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Gwen Fletcher
Gwen Fletcher of Tallahassee died Wednesday at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. She was 71.
Mrs. Fletcher was born in Meigs, Ga., and had lived in Tallahassee since 1939. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Tallahassee.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Herbert B. Fletcher of Tallahassee; a son, Jerry Fletcher of Gainesville; a daughter, Kay Skipper of Tallahassee; three brothers, Harry Carter of Tallahassee, Zeke Carter of Melbourne and Levy Carter of Tallahassee; two sisters, Louise Robinson of Key West and Grace Marok of Toledo, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
Cecile Acuff Gadd
Cecile Acuff Gadd of Evansville, Ind., died Tuesday in Indiana. She was 86.
Mrs. Gadd was a school teacher and a Methodist.
Local survivors include a son, Charles Gadd Jr. of Gainesville.
Henry Calvin Holcombe
OLD TOWN -- Henry Calvin Holcombe of Old Town died Wednesday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 75.
Mr. Holcombe was born in Belton, S.C., and moved to Old Town from Jennings seven years ago. He was chief officer of movement control of transportation for the Army.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann Holcombe of Old Town; three daughters, Cheryl Dykstra of Odessa and Nancy Kelly and Patricia Scott, both of Hernando; a son, Michael Meares of Hudson; and many grandchildren.
Lillian S. LaBianca
Lillian S. LaBianca of Gainesville died Wednesday in Gainesville. She was 87.
Mrs. LaBianca was a retired department saleswoman.
Born in Pennsylvania, she moved from Brooklyn, N.Y., to Gainesville 23 years ago.
She was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and Robert Bulatewicz of Gainesville and Rosemarie and Robert Badalucco of Staten Island, N.Y.; two sisters, Stella Korporccq and Angela Shine, both of Cleveland, Ohio; and two grandsons, William Baglivio and Michael Baglivio.
Norma L. Namislo
Norma L. Namislo of Gainesville died Tuesday in Gainesville. She was 59.
A native of Indiana, Mrs. Namislo moved to Gainesville in 1999.
She was a Protestant and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was named volunteer of the year by the Julian Center in Indianapolis.
Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Namislo of Gainesville; four daughters, Linda Poortenga of Medaryville, Ind., Lisa Palmer of Arkansas City, Kan., Laurie Snyder of South Bend, Ind., and Karin Namislo of Brighton, Mass.; a son, Daniel W. Forrester III of Contoocook, N.H.; three sisters, Arlene Idelwine of Alexandria, Ind., Sharon Casper of North Manchester, Ind., and Connie Funk of Huntington, Ind.; a brother, Jacob Cormany of Andrews, Ind.; and 12 grandchildren.
Ruth Negrin
Ruth Negrin of Gainesville died Wednesday in Gainesville. She was 76.
Mrs. Negrin was born in Poland and moved to Gainesville from Boca Raton 12 years ago. She was a hairdresser. She was a member of the Young at Heart at B'Nai Israel Synagogue. She loved her family and loved cooking.
Survivors include her daughter, Esther Negrin of Gainesville; a son, Irving Negrin of New Port Richey; two sisters, Lillian Harris of Boyton Beach and Helen Samess of Parkland; and three granddaughters.
Maureen Moseley Paul
MELROSE -- Maureen Moseley Paul of Melrose died Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 84.
Mrs. Paul was born in Batesville, Ark., and moved to Melrose from Jacksonville 44 years ago. She was a school principal and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Paul.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Owens of Mandarin; a son, Rodney Paul of Keystone Heights; four grandchildren; and a great- grandchild.
Lona Primous
WILLISTON -- Lona Primous of Williston died Jan. 17 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 86.
Mrs. Primous was born in Quitman, Ga., and was raised and attended high school in Valdosta, Ga. She moved to Williston many years ago. She was a member of Mount Olive A.M.E. Church where she served as church secretary for 50 years. She also served as president and secretary of several Christian organizations, including the Sunlight Pallbearers Club No. 70.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Mildred Monroe and Mary Alice and Leo Joiner, all of Williston; a son, Israel Primous of Williston; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Martha Frances Tipton
Martha Frances Tipton of Gainesville died Thursday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 82.
A native of Missouri, Mrs. Tipton moved to Gainesville from Palatka 55 years ago.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church and the Gainesville Woman's Club and the Gainesville Garden Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Walkup of Melrose; a sister, Ayleen H. Smith of Melrose; and two grandchildren.
Ernest Edward Troxell Jr.
CROSS CITY -- Ernest Edward "Mouse" Troxell Jr. of Cross City died Wednesday at Shands at the University of Florida. He was 60.
Mr. Troxell owned Mouse Roofing of Cross City.
He was born in Blountville, Tenn., and moved from New Port Richey to Cross City 16 years ago.
He was a Baptist and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Troxell of Cross City; a daughter, Tracey Troxell of Cross City; two brothers, Bobby Troxell and Wayne Troxell, both of New Port Richey; a sister, Phyllis Moyle of New Port Richey; and one grandson.

Florence Wallace
LIVE OAK -- Florence Wallace of Live Oak died Thursday. She was 80.
Mrs. Wallace was born in Carbon Hill, Ala., and moved to Live Oak from Fort Lauderdale 19 years ago.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church, where she attended the Lydia Sunday school class.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Wallace of Live Oak; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee and Bob Bridges of Like Oak; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry Lee and Betty Wallace of Tallahassee; three sisters, Dena Tucker and Penny Pierce, both of Carbon Hill, Ala., and Lorraine Alexander of Eldridge, Ala.; a brother, Paul Eads of High Point, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Robert Gene "Rod" Bridges, Michael Lee Legette, Wendy Lee Wallace and Brandon Lee Wallace.
Louise N. Williams
CHIEFLAND -- Louise N. Williams died Monday at her residence in Gainesville. She was 86.
Mrs. Williams was born in East Point and moved to Chiefland from Trenton 60 years ago.
She was a cosmetologist and a member of First Baptist Church of Trenton.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Merle and Rita Williams of Chiefland; two sisters, Iris Tomlinson of Edgewater and Wesley Cotton of Lake City; two brothers, Earl Nolan of Gainesville and Gary Nolan of Stuart; and a grandson, Merle O. Williams of Chiefland.
Henry S. Blank
Henry S. Blank of Gainesville died Friday in Gainesville. He was 93.
Dr. Blank was a physician in Gainesville for 42 years until 1990. He was also a retired colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and served in the Pacific during World War II. He was a flight surgeon during the war and remained involved with the members and activities associated with the unit.
Born in New York City, he lived in New York, Lake City and Lake Butler before moving to Gainesville 53 years ago.
He was Jewish.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret B. Preyer of Greensboro, N.C., and Mary B. Paulson of Gainesville; and four grandchildren.
