Margaret Harbuck Ellison

Margaret Harbuck Ellison of Gainesville died Monday. She was 70.

Mrs. Ellison was born in Macon County, Ga., and moved to Gainesville from Atlanta in 1962. She was a homemaker. She volunteered to tutor and read to children at Terwilliger Elementary School. She was involved in the Women's Ministry at Faith Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Claude Ellison Jr. of Gainesville; a daughter and a son-in-law, Denise Ellison Baez and Alexander Baez of Dublin, Ohio; a son, Thomas Claude Ellison of Gainesville; two sisters, Leona Brown of Marshallville, Ga., and Betty Jane Chappell of Smithville, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Tyler and Marina Baez.

John J. Farkas

MIAMI -- John J. Farkas of Miami died Monday. He was 57.

Mr. Farkas was born in Bridgeport, Conn., and moved to Miami from Hampton. He was a support manager for BellSouth, where he was on the board of directors for One Florida.

He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth M. Farkas of Gainesville; a sister, Betty Farkas Corwine of Gainesville; a brother-in-law, George Corwine of Gainesville; and two nephews, Thomas W. Corwine of Orlando and George J. Corwine of Gainesville.

Lee Aaron Fullwood

HAWTHORNE -- Lee Aaron Fullwood of Hawthorne died Monday. He was 48.

Mr. Fullwood was born in Jacksonville and moved to Hawthorne from Gainesville 23 years ago. He was a lineman foreman for T&D; Co. He was a member of the Lineman's Foundation and Communication Workers of America. He was Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Ann Baggett Fullwood of Hawthorne; his daughter, Lura Cody of Melrose; a sister, Tura Gallaway of Keystone Heights; a brother, Ray Fullwood of Hawthorne; and two grandchildren, Cheyenne Grey and Makayla Cody.

Rosalyn Gloor

Rosalyn "Joan" Gloor of Gainesville died Tuesday at Shands at AGH. She was 68.

Mrs. Gloor was born in Shady Grove, Pa., and moved to Gainesville 30 years ago after living in various areas in North Central Florida. She was a member of the Waldo Road Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Gainesville. She serveding as a full-time minister for several years.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Vane Gloor of Gainesville; and four sisters, Mary Louise Spangler of Jacksonville, Lois Jean Moore of Ocklawaha, Harvene Joyce Witz of Ocala and Pauline Doris Doebler of Monroeville, Pa.

Mary E. Heitzman

Mary E. Heitzman of Rockville, Md., died Monday. She was 77.

Miss Heitzman was born in Gainesville. She was a graduate of Gainesville High and was employed in the area until 1946. She worked for the Atomic Energy Commission, now known as the Department of Energy. She was Catholic.

She is survived locally by a sister, Frances Lester of Gainesville.

Faye McClain Hightower Hines

LAKE CITY -- Faye McClain Hightower Hines of Lake City died Tuesday at Shands at Lake Shore in Lake City. She was 89.

She was a native of Lafayette County and lived in Lake City since 1999. She was the former owner of the Junction Inn in Dunnellon, and was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Church of God in Dunnellon.

Survivors include a son, Ben W. Hightower III of Del Rio, Tenn.; a daughter, Judy Hightower Clark of Lake City; a brother, David McClain of High Springs; a sister, Retha Mae McClain Jones of Lakeland; five grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.

Charlotte Ann Izkowitz

Charlotte Ann Izkowitz of Gainesville died Tuesday. She was 47.

Mrs. Izkowitz was born in Texas City, Texas, and moved to Gainesville from Hollywood in 1996. She was a writer.

Survivors include her husband, Rich Izkowitz of Gainesville; and a brother, Larry A. Caldara of Gainesville.

Evelyn Bertha Knight

INTERLACHEN -- Evelyn Bertha Knight of Interlachen died Tuesday at Sunbridge of Gainesville following an extended illness. She was 87.

She was a native of Auburn, Maine, and moved to Interlachen in 1968. She was a retired schoolteacher in East Orange, N.J. She was Protestant. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Order of Eastern Star.

Bernice Martin

TRENTON -- Bernice "Aunt Buck" Martin of Trenton died Tuesday in her home. She was 93.

Mrs. Martin was born in Levy County and was a lifelong resident of Gilchrist County. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Cherry Sink Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Albert Martin of Trenton; a great-grandnephew, Steven Matthews Jr. of Trenton; and several nieces and nephews.

John Earl Moll

John Earl Moll of Brandon died Wednesday at Brandon Hospital. He was 84.

Mr. Moll was born in Hilltown, Pa., and lived in Melrose for about 30 years before moving to Brandon two years ago. He was a carpenter. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, John C. Moll of Seffner; a stepson, Jimmy Cook of Gainesville; two daughters, Stella Leonardi and Judy Swilley, both of Brandon; two stepdaughters, Ruby Parrish of Keystone Heights and Nadine Browning of Newberry; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Raymond Valley Read

Raymond Valley Read of Hobe Sound died Tuesday at Jupiter Medical Center. He was 53.

Mr. Read moved from Gainesville three years ago and was born in Covington, Ky. He worked in commercial sales at C and R Air Conditioning. He served in the Army in Vietnam. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and spending time with friends.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Jolly Read of Hobe Sound; his daughter, Jamie Ray Read of Gainesville; his mother, Lorraine Read of Port Orange; and his brother, Frank Read of Ormond Beach.

Lehmon McGraph Rogers

OLD TOWN -- Lehmon McGraph Rogers of Old Town died Tuesday at Cross City Rehabilitation and Health Center after congestive health failure. He was 78.

Mr. Rogers was born in Dodge City, Ga., and moved to Old Town from Eastman, Ga., 20 years ago. He was an automobile dealer. He was also a rancher, a campground manager and a fishing guide in his later years. He served in World War II in Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Addie Rogers; an infant son; three sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Harriet Knight Jones Rogers of Old Town; two daughters, Sue Sumner of Belleview and Tish Fair of Durham, N.C.; a stepson, Marc Jones of Palm Springs, Calif.; a brother, Sammie Rogers of Helena, Ga.; and four sisters, Evelyn Helton of Irwenton, Ga., Lois Jean Helms of Abbieville, Ga., Faustine Peacock of Macon, Ga., and Virginia Thompson of Moultree, Ga.

Johnnie Kelley Bass

NEWBERRY - Johnnie Kelley Bass died Friday in the Tri-County Nursing Home. She was 85.

Mrs. Bass was born in Elba, Ala., and moved to Newberry from Crestview 35 years ago. She was a retired supervisor for Southeastern Telephone Co. in Crestview and was an antiques dealer in Newberry.

She attended First Baptist Church.

Survivors include son Don Kelley of Newberry; brother Fred Wombles of Niceville; two sisters, Gladys Edwards of DeFuniak Springs and Raynelle Knighton of Blakely, Ga.; caretaker Betty Hunter of Newberry; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

William F. Cox IV

William F. Cox IV died Friday in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 46.

Mr. Cox was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and was a U.S. Navy corpsman at Camp Lejeune, N.C., before moving to Gainesville. He was a phlebotomist at Shands at the University of Florida.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Cox; daughter Rebecca Coetta of Gainesville; parents William and Patricia Cox of Clintwood, Va.; sister Karen Rice of East Petersburg, Pa.; and brother Matthew Cox of Spring Creek, Pa.

Edward Blaine Dewitt

CHIEFLAND - Edward Blaine Dewitt died Friday. He was 71.

Mr. Dewitt was born in Lumberport, W.Va., and moved to Chiefland five years ago from Pennsylvania.

He was a mechanic and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude "Trudy" Dewitt; and sister Mary Alice Ingram of Chiefland.

Martha R. Eggerking

Martha R. Eggerking died Saturday in her home. She was 75.

Mrs. Eggerking was born in Fort Lumpton, Colo., and moved to Gainesville eight months ago from Kailua, Hawaii.

She was a retired mortgage loan officer with the Bank of Hawaii, was a member of the Assistance League of Hawaii and the Kailua Seniors. She was a Methodist.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Eggerking of Gainesville; her sister, Myrtle Mirable of Antioch, Calif.; and a grandson, Steven Eggerking of Kailua.

Lala Elizabeth Home

NEWBERRY - Lala Elizabeth Home Schouten died Friday in her home. She was 93.

Mrs. Schouten was born in St. Augustine and moved to Newberry from Stuart 53 years ago. She graduated from Ketterlin High School in St. Augustine and attended Florida State College for Women. She was a secretary for the geology and microbiology departments at the University of Florida, was a founding volunteer at North Florida Regional Medical Center and attended St. Michael's Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Schouten was preceded in death by her first husband, Peter Stewart, and her second husband, Arthur Schouten.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Home Stewart and Dr. Sally Stewart; and a son, Bion Van Schouten.
