Mary E. Barlow

DOWLING PARK -- Mary Evelyn Barlow died Monday at Rosemont Nursing Home in Stone Mountain, Ga. She was 79.

Mrs. Barlow was born in O'Brien and moved to Dowling Park from Jacksonville in 1970.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Olan "Sonny" Barlow.

Survivors include sons William "Earl" Barlow of Suwanee, Ga., and Johnnie Steve Barlow of Orange Park; a daughter, Selena Barlow of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Irene Boone of O'Brien; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Lenore Mueller Ebersole

Lenore Mueller Ebersole of Gainesville died Sunday at Hospice Care Center following an extended illness. She was 80.

Mrs. Ebersole was born in Columbus, Ohio, and lived in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area before moving to Gainesville in 1987. She worked for the civil service for 35 years, retiring in 1978 as a senior program systems analyst at the Department of Defense.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ebersole Jr.

Survivors include a brother, Eugene L. Mueller of Lancaster, Ohio; and a sister, Cornelia H. Mueller of Gainesville.

Joyce E. Evenhuis

PENNEY FARMS -- Joyce E. Evenhuis died Sunday at Shands at AGH following a brief illness. She was 83.

Mrs. Evenhuis was born Kalamazoo, Mich., and moved to Penney Farms from Keystone Heights in 1993.

She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Melrose.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Evenhuis.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Henderson of Hawthorne; and a brother, Byron White Jr. of Penny Farms.

Clinton M. Higginbotham

MORRISTON -- Clinton M. Higginbotham died Wednesday in Gainesville. He was 65.

Mr. Higginbotham was born in Poca, W.Va., and moved to Morriston from Palm Bay in 1994. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Ocala West Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed football and baseball.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Higginbotham of Morriston; sons William Higginbotham of Morriston, Jerry Higginbotham of Kissimmee and Jeffrey Higginbotham of Melbourne; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Lois Merrill Macy

Lois Merrill Macy of Gainesville died Sunday at the Hospice House of Gainesville. She was 81.

Mrs. Macy was born in Cleveland and moved to Gainesville from Cumberland, Md., in 1978.

She was a retired insurance agent. She volunteered with the American Heart Association and the March of Dimes. She was involved in the Cub Scouts.

Survivors include her husband, William H. Macy of Gainesville; sons Fred M. Macy of LaVale, Md., and William H. Macy of Los Angeles; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Sandra K. Olsen

Sandra K. Olsen died Thursday at her residence in Clearwater. She was 55.

The former resident of Trenton was a Baptist.

Local survivors include a daughter, Nicole Santerfeit of Trenton.

James B. Peacock

James B. Peacock of Tallahassee died Monday in Tallahassee. He was 75.

The Williston native worked in the trucking industry in Michigan and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He has no local survivors.

Wallace D. Shira

LAWTEY -- Wallace Dean Shira died Friday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center following an extended illness. He was 81.

Mr. Shira was born in New Castle, Pa., and moved to Lawtey from Springhill in 1995.

He was a retired postal clerk and mail carrier. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He also worked as a flight engineer.

He was a model train and car enthusiast. He also enjoyed cycling and logged 75, 000 miles after he retired.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Janet F. Shira of Lawtey; a son, Daniel Dean Shira of Apple Valley, Calif.; daughters Amy Marie Shira and Mary Janet Gifford, both of Lawtey, and Jean Elaine Parsons of Emporium, Pa.; brothers David L. Shira of Sioux City, Iowa, and A. Wayne Shira of Whidbey Island, Wash.; sisters Edith Richards of Franklin, Pa., and Joann Shira of La Joya, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Barbara J. Smith

STARKE -- Barbara J. Smith died Monday at Orange Park Medical Center following an extended illness. She was 65.

Mrs. Smith was born in Raiford and moved to Starke from Jacksonville six years ago.

She was a retired nurse's assistant and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church. She graduated from R.J.E. High School.

Survivors include brothers Francis and Charles Warren, both of Raiford, and Louis and the Rev. Jewal W. Warren, both of Starke.

Lorene Chancey Pringle Bennett

OLD TOWN -- Lorene Chancey Pringle Bennett of Old Town died Saturday. She was 79.

Mrs. Bennett was born in Zephyrhills and moved to Old Town in 1999.

She was a homemaker and a member of Scrub Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Pringle.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew Daniel and Sharlene Pringle of Westville; three daughters and sons-in-laws, Hilda Annette and Bill Lane Estes of Old Town, Beatrice Coreen and Buddy Bennett of Pinetta, and Marjorie Rebecca and Mike Lundquist of Hernando Beach; a daughter-in-law, Vicky Pringle of Valdosta; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Rena Land Brock

PERRY -- Rena Land Brock of Perry died Sunday at Tallahassee Community Hospital following an extended illness. She was 75.

Mrs. Brock was born in Greenville and lived in Lake Butler before moving to Perry many years ago.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.J. Brock; and her twin sons, Jimmy Brock and Jerry Brock.

Survivors include a son, Randy Brock of Mayo; three daughters, Betty Ketron, Jackie Dixon and Connie Brock, all of Perry; a brother, Loran Land of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

James Flavous Donnelly

STARKE -- James Flavous Donnelly died Monday at his residence in Starke following a brief illness. He was 87.

Mr. Donnelly was a lifelong resident of Bradford County.

He was a retired carpenter with the state of Florida and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Seabees.

Mr. Donnelly was a member of the American Legion Post No. 56 in Starke.

Survivors include a sister, Zeila Johns of Starke; two nieces, Kathy Boree of Middleburg and Ruth Darley of Starke; and three nephews, Charles C. Johns and Julian Glisson, both of Starke, and Lester Johns of Apollo Beach.
