Jodie Frances Morrison
LAKE CITY - Jodie Frances Morrison of Lake City died Wednesday in a boating accident off Horseshoe Beach. She was 6.
Her grandfather, Jasper "Skeet" Gardner, died in the same accident.
Jodie attended kindergarten at Melrose Park Elementary School, where she loved reading and art. She also played soccer for the Columbia Youth Soccer Association and attended Westside Baptist Chapel in Lake City.
She was born in Lake City.
Jodie was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Francis Morrison.
Survivors include her mother and father, Rhonda Gardner and Joseph Karl Southerland, both of Lake City; two brothers, Austin Yorke and Alex Southerland, both of Lake City; two sisters, Rachel Morrison and Michelle Morrison, both of Lake City; and her grandparents, Billy and Carol Southerland of Gainesville, Tom and Sarah Morrison, and Nora Logan, all of Lake City.

Sarah Lois Roberts
BELL - Sarah Lois Roberts, a lifelong resident of Bell, died Thursday at Shands at the University of Florida. She was 76.
Mrs. Roberts was a cottage parent at Sunland (Tacachale) and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Trenton. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by a son, Simon Dillard.
Survivors include her husband, J.W. Roberts of Bell; sons Don and Darrell Boyette, both of Bell, and Ronnie Boyette of Chiefland; daughters Charlotte Philman of Chiefland, Sharon Lancaster of Neptune Beach and Laura Spears of Bell; a sister, Louise Sparkman of Trenton; 16 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.

Irene P. Sherrill
MACCLENNY - Irene P. Sherrill of Macclenny died Friday at Frasier Memorial Hospital in Macclenny after a sudden illness. She was 74.
Mrs. Sherrill was born in Annapolis, Mo. She had lived in Lake Butler and Jacksonville before moving to Macclenny five years ago. She was a retired secretary for the Department of Labor. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macclenny.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, the Rev. Leo Sherrill of Macclenny; a daughter, Carol Erwin of Starke; sons Roger Sherrill of Houston and Lindell Sherrill of Atlanta; a brother, John Pannebecker of O'Fallon, Mo.; a sister, Mary Louise Watts of Pekin, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

Franklin Richie Smith
ARCHER - Franklin Richie Smith of Archer died Saturday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 69.
Mr. Smith was a retired superintendent with Vital Industries. He also served in the U.S. Navy in Korea.
Born in Orlando, he moved from Orlando to Archer 24 years ago.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archer.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Ann Smith of Archer; a son, Robert Douglas Smith of Archer; a daughter, Mary Kathleen Marcoux of Archer; and a sister, Dolly Tinsley of Deltona.

Marguerite Hewitt Ohmstede Tillman
NEWBERRY - Marguerite Hewitt Ohmstede Tillman of Newberry died Saturday in Gainesville. She was 92.
Mrs. Tillman was a homemaker. She previously was an operator at Western Union and an upholsterer. Born in Amite, Miss., she moved from Tampa to Newberry 16 years ago.
She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Newberry.
Mrs. Tillman was recently preceded in death by her husband, Arlie E. Tillman.
Survivors include daughters Linda L. Elmore of Newberry and Beverly Demers of Putnam, Conn.; sons Gerald H. Ohmstede of Tampa, Thomas E. Ohmstede of Brandon, Francis R. Ohmstede of Lake City, Tenn., and Harvey G. Tillman of Orlando; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren.

Georgia Thornton
RAIFORD - Georgia Thornton of Raiford died Friday at Shands in Gainesville after a long illness. She was 85.
Mrs. Thornton was a homemaker and a member of Pine Grove Congregational Methodist Church in Raiford.
Born in Atmore, Ala., she lived most of her life in Bradford and Union counties.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. John E. Thornton of Raiford; daughters Mearlean Griffis and Geraldine Waldron, both of Raiford; a son, Leo Thornton of Starke; a stepson, Allen Thornton of Raiford; stepdaughters Wanda Evans and Gloria Crews, both of Starke, Virginia Cowart of Riceville, Fay Jefferies of Raiford and Donna Flowers of Ellisville; a brother, Lewis Nellum of Tampa; sisters Etha Harris of Bradenton and Barbara Pearson of Tampa; 26 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Roberta Gale Walker
TAVARES - Roberta Gale Walker of Tavares died Friday in Houston, Texas. She was 59.
Mrs. Walker was a licensed practical nurse. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. She lived in Gainesville from 1960 through 1976 and was a graduate of Gainesville High School.
Mrs. Walker was a Catholic.
Local survivors include a daughter, Constance Walker Kurtz of Gainesville.

Mary E. Arnett
Mary Ennis Arnett of Gainesville died Thursday at the Hospice House of Gainesville following a lengthy illness. She was 82.
Mrs. Arnett was born in Medina, N.Y., and moved to Gainesville from Kinderhook, N.Y., in 1982.
She was a homemaker and a retired vice president of Sandhill Printing Press. She was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church, where she volunteered as a greeter.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ross H. Arnett.
Survivors include daughters Mary Anne Arnett of Baltimore, Barbara E. Parskcvas of Lafayette, Ind., Fran Dillard of Ormond Beach and Bernadette A. D'Alessandro of Waterford, Conn.; sons Ross H. Mrs. Barker was a secretary and a Presbyterian.

LAWTEY - Martha Jane Blackburn, a lifelong resident of Lawtey, died Friday at her residence. She was 62.
Mrs. Blackburn was a homemaker and a Pentecostal.

Robert S. Dennis Jr.
Robert Solomon Dennis Jr. of Gainesville died Wednesday at Shands at AGH. He was 80.
Mr. Dennis was born in Brewton, Ala., and moved to Gainesville from Perry in 1933.
He was a retired supervisor with the state of Florida Agricultural Division. He received a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from the University of Florida. He was a World War II veteran and participated in the China/Burma theater.
Survivors include a brother, Norman Dennis of Savannah.

Charles E. Huyck
STEINHATCHEE - Charles Edward Huyck died Thursday at his residence. He was 41.
Mr. Huyck moved to Steinhatchee from Trufant, Mich., in 1987.
He was a fisherman.
