Annie B. Riley

Annie B. Riley of St. Petersburg died Oct. 11 after a long illness. ShHe was 93.

She was born in Archer, where she lived until 1996. She has lived in St. Petersburg for four years.

She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She is survived by a cousin, Lamie Johnson of St. Petersburg.

John Butler Sims

John Butler Sims of Olive Branch, Miss., died Monday in Mississippi. He was 87.

Mr. Sims lived in Gainesville for 45 years before moving to Mississippi four years ago.

He was a designer and builder. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.

He has no local survivors.

Joseph P. Spotnagle

ARCHER -- Joseph P. Spotnagle of Archer died Friday in Archer. He was 86.

Mr. Spotnagle was born in Midway, Ky., and moved to Archer from St. Cloud in 1999.

He was a retired foreman with a body shop.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou Smith of Nicholasville, Ky.; two sons, W.A. Spotnagle of Archer and Joe W. Spotnagle of Boca Raton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Handlon Zettlemoyer

MELROSE -- Marjorie Handloncq Zettlemoyercq of Melrose died Tuesday at Palm Gardens of Gainesville. She was 84.

Mrs. Zettlemoyer was a homemaker and child care giver.

Born in Kentucky, she moved from Opa-Locka to Melrose 29 years ago.

She was a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Benham of Aurora, Ind., and Bob Zettlemoyer of Melrose; a daughter, Parthacq Lou Swingle of Versailles, cq Ind.; a brother, Woodrow Handlon of Indianapolis; a sister, Cassie Flint of Versailles; and nine grandchildren.

Charles Fredrick Beech

LAKE CITY -- Charles Fredrick Beech died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 57.

Mr. Beech was born in Madison, Ind., and moved to Lake City 18 years ago.

He worked as a water plant operator for the city of Lake City and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist and a member of the Moose Lodge in Lake City.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Henry Saunders Beech of Lake City; his mother, Thelma Beech of Madison, Ind., a son, Sidney Saunders of Jacksonville; daughters Cindy and Jenny Saunders, both of Lake City, and Vickey Saunders of Palm Harbor; brothers Jerry Beech of Madison, Ind., and George Beech Jr. of Carroliton, Ky.; sisters Anna Hanna, Daisy Croxton and Louise Kinman, all of Madison, Ind.; four grandchildren; and a great-grand- child.

Colen M. Crews

LAKE CITY -- Colen M. Crews died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 50.

Mr. Crews was born in Lake Butler and lived in Union County most of his life.

He was employed with Williams LP Gas Co. of Worthington Springs. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Horton Crews of Lake City; a daughter, Joye Parker of Lake Butler; a son, Brian Crews of Lake City; his mother, Noreen Dukes Crews of Lake Butler; sisters Elaine Lewis of Quitman, Ga., and Ethelia Perry and Sharon Berry, both of Orange Park; a brother, Edwin Crews of Alachua; and two grandchildren.

George L. Donahue

George L. Donahue of Gainesville died Friday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 75.

Mr. Donahue was born in Stamford, Conn., and moved to Gainesville from Miami 18 years ago.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and later served as a lieutenant colonel with enforcement in the U.S. Customs Service in Miami. He also served in the U.S. Army and the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 16. He was an avid gardener and a charter member of the Haile Plantation Garden Club.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Joan Donahue of Gainesville; a son, John Donahue of Gainesville; a daughter, Kathleen D. Cox of Gainesville; a sister, Joan Picetti of Margate; and two grandchildren.

Geraldine S. Haskins

Geraldine S. Haskins of Tallahassee died Sunday in Tallahassee. She was 77.

Mrs. Haskins was born in Sweetwater, Texas, and lived in Gainesville for many years before moving to Tallahassee six years ago.

She was an antiques dealer and a past president of the Democratic Women's Club. She graduated from Florida A&M; with a degree in history.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Harold Haskins of Gainesville; and two sons, Gerald M. Haskins of La Crosse and Carl F. Haskins of Hawthorne; two daughters, Mary E. Haskins and Maureen E. Holder, both of Tallahassee; and nine grandchildren.

Russell Burton Strange

CHIEFLAND -- Russell Burton Strange died Saturday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 71.

Mr. Strange was born in Palatka and moved to Chiefland from Pensacola 20 years ago. He was a retired district manager with Southern Bell Telephone Co. and a member of First Baptist Church of Chiefland. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in electrical engineering in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Strange enjoyed camping, tree farming and hunting.

Survivors include his wife of 46 of years, Marie Strange of Chiefland; sons Glen Strange of Pensacola, David Strange of Neptune Beach and Wesley Strange of Pace; a daughter, Melissa Peltier of Blue Springs, Mo.; a sister, Hazel Lawrence of Flagler Beach; and nine grandchildren.

Eleanor Leek Zane

STARKE -- Eleanor Leek Zane died Saturday at Bradford Terrace Nursing Home. She was 83.

Mrs. Zane was born in Mount Holly, N.J., and moved to Starke from Naples in 1994.

She was a member of Morgan Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Zane of Starke; daughters Julanne Patton of Batavia, Ohio, Joan Hughes of Starke and Faith Sackrider of Kissimmee; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Carolyn C. Adams

Carolyn C. Adams of Gainesville died unexpectedly Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 98.

Mrs. Adams was a registered nurse and a teacher. Born in Schleswig, Iowa, she moved from Fort Pierce to Gainesville.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Hildebrand of Gainesville and Herbert Hildebrand of Sarasota; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Treynor of Columbus, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Clarence Adcock

CHIEFLAND - Clarence "J.R." Adcock of Chiefland died Thursday in Gilchrist County. He was 55.

Mr. Adcock was a concrete finisher at North Florida Holsteins in Trenton.

Born in Georgia, he moved from California to Chiefland seven years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Adcock of Chiefland; three sons, Daryl Derrick Adcock of Oregon and Randy Wooliver and Brandon Wooliver, both of California; two daughters, Tina Marie of Indiana and Patricia Ann of Georgia; three brothers, Jerry Adcock of Crystal River, Ray Adcock of Old Town and Jackie Adcock of Chiefland; four sisters, Jeanette Spence of Chiefland, Mildred Sinnard of California, Pat Riley of Old Town and Judy Spinelli of St. Petersburg; and six grandchildren.

Rene Emile Boisseau Sr.

ALACHUA - Rene Emile Boisseau Sr. of Alachua died Friday at Shands at UF. He was 53.

Mr. Boisseau was a carpenter, and he was a minister at the Juvenile Detention Center for nine years.

He previously served in the U.S. Navy.

Born in Woonsocket, R.I., he moved from New England to Alachua 22 years ago.

Mr. Boisseau was a senior deacon at Liberty Christian Fellowship.

He was a member of the Fort White Gun Club.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Boisseau of Alachua; two sons, Rene Emile Boisseau Jr. of Interlachen and Joshua Joseph Boisseau of Alachua; a brother, Gerard L. Boisseau of Fairview, Mass.; two sisters, Janet White of New Hampshire and Claire Ledoux of San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
