Nancy Elizabeth Owen Glisson
STARKE -- Nancy Elizabeth Owen Glisson of Starke died Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was 69.
She was born in Ocala and lived in Bradford County for most of her life.
Mrs. Glisson had been a nursing assistant and a kitchen worker at Whispering Pines Care Center for a number of years.
She was a member of the Gospel Church of Starke.
Survivors include her husband, Leslie F. Glisson of Starke; two sons, Larry Glisson of Starke and Mark Glisson of Keystone Heights; a brother, Issac Owen of Tampa; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Lou Eva McComb
NEWBERRY -- Lou Eva McComb of Newberry died Tuesday. She was 76.
She was born in Micanopy and moved to Newberry in 1988.
She was a retired customer service clerk at Professional Life Insurance in Jacksonville.
Mrs. McComb was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newberry.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary K. May of Orange Springs and Clara E. Stanley of Manning, S.C.; a son, Robert Alan McComb of Starke; three sisters, Mary C. Bowden and Betty Micheletti, both of Williston, and Patricia Matchett of Orange Springs; two brothers, B.L. Reeves of Jacksonville and Ralph L. Reeves of Orange Springs; three grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.
Raymond W. Overfelt
WILLISTON -- Raymond W. Overfelt of Williston died Monday at Shands at AGH. He was 87.
He was born in Tampa and moved to Williston from Miami.
Mr. Overfelt was a retired supervisor for Florida Power and Light in Miami.
He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Overfelt of Williston; a son, Leon W. Overfelt of Port Orange; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Dean of Williston; two sisters, Ruth Burke of St. Augustine and Annie Cason of New Smyrna Beach; three grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
Carris Irene Taylor Prevatt
LAWTEY -- Carris Irene Taylor Prevatt of Lawtey died Tuesday at North Florida Special Care Center. She was 89.
She was born in Lawtey, she moved to Titusville, and relocated to Lawtey in 1977.
Mrs. Prevatt was educated in the Bradford County school system and later became a homemaker.
She was a member of Kingsley Lake Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, James T. Prevatt Sr.
Survivors include four daughters, Irene Rick and Carolyn Giddings, both of Gainesville, Nora Lee Wainwright of Lake City and Elizabeth Perry of Jacksonville; two sons, James T. Prevatt Jr. and Glenn Prevatt, both of Starke; a brother, Arthur W. Taylor of Keystone Heights; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Nita Clotine Tomey
OLD TOWN -- Nita "Cody" Clotine Tomey died Monday at her residence in Old Town. She was 64.
She was born in Soldier, Ky., and moved to Old Town from Vernon, Ohio, 13 years ago.
Mrs. Tomey worked in the Garden Center of the Wal-Mart in Chiefland.
She was a member of Soldier Kentucky United Methodist.
She loved to play bingo.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy "Pap" Tomey of Old Town; four daughters, Rebecca Chesser of Bloomfield, Ky., Katherine McDonald of Trenton, Deborah Bass of Cross City and Dianna Mathey of Warren, Ohio; two sons, Richard Carpenter of Old Town and Lloyd Carpenter of New Port Richey; three sisters, Geraldine Youngerman of Dayton, Ohio, Justine Bailey and Bobbie Lou Pack, both of Soldier; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Lazaro J. Valdes
ALACHUA -- Lazaro J. Valdes of Alachua died Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 96.
He was born in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba, and moved to Alachua from Miami in 1993.
Mr. Valdes was a retired carpenter.
He was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria L. Valdes.
Survivors include three sons, Carlos T. Valdes of Miami, Juan L. Valdes of Katy, Texas, and Gilbert P. Valdes of Alachua; a sister, Clodormira Valdes of Cuba; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
William Banks Sr.
William "Caesar" Banks Sr., a lifelong resident of Gainesville, died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 86.
Mr. Banks was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Greater Bell United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee.
He was preceded in death his wife, Joeanna Young Banks; and a son, William Banks Jr.
Survivors include four sons, Melvin Banks of Miami, the Rev. Charles Banks of Jacksonville, and Virgil Banks and Ralph Banks, both of Gainesville; four daughters, Mary F. Banks and Sara D. Dickerson, both of Gainesville, Lucy Banks of Jacksonville and Collette Banks of Tallahassee; two brothers, Lewis Banks and Glen Banks, both of Gainesville; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Lloyd Cannon
CHIEFLAND -- Lloyd Cannon died Thursday at Nature Coast Regional Hospital in Williston. He was 47.
Mr. Cannon was born in Gainesville and worked at Right of Way Treeman.
He was a Baptist.
His is survived by two sons, Gary Cannon of Chiefland and Chad Cannon of Bell; two brothers, Horace Cannon Jr. of Cross City and Berry Cannon of Chiefland; and a sister, Sandra Quincey of Chiefland.
Catherine P. Crawford
CROSS CITY -- Catherine Crawford died Wednesday at her residence in Cross City. She was 72.
Mrs. Crawford was a lifelong resident of Cross City.
She was a member of Suwannee River Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Crawford; and a son, Ronnie Downing.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula Crawford of Cross City; her mother, Pauline Ward of Cross City; three brothers, Wesley Ward of Sebring, Carol Ward of Hatchbend and Noel Ward of Old Town; two sisters, Wanda Lee and Retta Reed, both of Cross City; four grandchildren; and four great-grand- daughters.
Martha H. Deweese
CROSS CITY -- Martha H. Deweese of Cross City died Wednesday at Shands at UF. She was 79.
Mrs. Deweese was born in Asheville, N.C., and moved to Cross City in 1990.
She was a travel controller with Honeywell Corporation in Tampa. During World War II she worked as an assembly line worker through the U.S. Defense Department.
She was a member of Cross City Methodist Church.
Mrs. Deweese was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Deweese; and a son, Tommy Deweese.
Survivors include a son, Roy Deweese of Old Town; and a sister, Sara Jo Fulmer of Mulberry.
Kenneth Howard Dorman
Kenneth Howard Dorman of Gainesville died Monday at Hospice House of North Central Florida. He was 88.
Born in Elba, N.Y., he moved to Gainesville three years ago.
Mr. Dorman was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy E. Dorman.
He is survived by three daughters, Phyllis E. Dorman of Gainesville, Audrey M. Keif of San Antonio, Texas, and Brenda J. Fedrigon of Cleveland, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Candance Yvonne Forlines
HIGH SPRINGS -- Candance Yvonne Forlines of High Springs died Tuesday of a heart attack at her residence. She was 47.
Born in Gainesville, she later moved to High Springs from Hawthorne.
Ms. Forlines was a homemaker.
She attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
Ms. Forlines is survived by her father, Peregrine White of Brooker; three sons, Eugene Watkins of Chiefland, Perry Watkins of Williston and Wally Watkins of Chiefland; a brother, Larry White of High Springs; two sisters, Jean Nesmith of Alachua and Sandra White of Bronson; and one grandchild.
