Marian Elizabeth Jorden

Marian Elizabeth Jorden of Gainesville died Tuesday at the Hospice House of Gainesville. She was 83.

Mrs. Jorden was born in Goff, Kan., and moved to Gainesville from Columbus, Kan., three years ago.

She was a funeral director and a Methodist.

Survivors include her husband, E.J. "Scotty" Jorden of Gainesville; daughters, Jane McGlothlin of Gainesville and Susan Weaver of Harpswell, Ariz.; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Loyd Albert Springer

OLD TOWN - Loyd Albert Springer died Saturday in Gainesville. He was 89.

Mr. Springer moved to Old Town from St. Petersburg in 1973.

Survivors include a son, Ted Newman Jr. of Climax, Mich.; daughters Judy Burns of Middleburg and Wilma Bierenga of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and his caretaker, Bobby Davis of Old Town.

Celia A. Wiggins

LAWTEY - Celia A. Wiggins died Thursday at Mariner Care Center in Jacksonville following an extended illness. She was 96.

Mrs. Wiggins was born in Geneva and moved to Lawtey from Tampa 60 years ago.

She retired from Camp Blanding and was a member of Pine Street Church of God in Christ in Starke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Wiggins.

Survivors include a daughter, Isabella Norton of Jacksonville; and five grandchildren.

John L. Godwin

TRENTON - John L. "Barney" Godwin died Friday at his home. He was 78.

Mr. Godwin was born in Mount Pleasant, S.C., and came here from Pensacola 30 years ago. He retired as a captain in the U.S. Navy after being stationed at Pensacola Naval Air Station. He was a pilot during World War II.

Mr. Godwin was also a member of the Etwan Lodge #95 F. & A.M. in Mount Pleasant for 58 years.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Katina Ellis.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia David Godwin of Trenton, and daughter Jennifer Kelly Godwin Wilson of Trenton.

Denise Lynn Pellerito

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS - Denise Lynn Pellerito died Thursday in Columbia County following an auto accident. She was 45.

Born in Miami, Ms. Pellerito moved to Keystone Heights in 1994 from Davie. She was a Lutheran and worked as a pharmacist at Eckerd Drugs.

Survivors include sons J.R. and Joe Pellerito of Keystone Heights; her mother, Geneva M. Hinkle of Keystone Heights; and brothers Douglas H. Mount Jr. of Boulder, Colo., Donald D. Mount of Dade City and Dennis D. Mount of Lawrenceville, Ga.

George W. Raborn

STARKE - George W. Raborn died Thursday at the Windsor Manor Nursing Home. He was 92.

Mr. Raborn was born in Gainesville and lived most of his life in Brooker. He was a retired mechanic with Owens-Illinois and a member of Brooker Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters Betty Robinson of Keystone Heights and Barbara Newton of Merritt Island; three grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Lloyd Sapp

WILLISTON - Lloyd Sapp died Thursday at home. He was 69.

Mr. Sapp came to Williston from Branford 55 years ago. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Williston and a retired corrections officer. He enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his sisters, Selena Roberts, Louise Starkey, Gladys Cross and Inez Goodsell, all of Williston.

J.R. "Wad" Watkins

BELL - J.R. "Wad" Watkins died Wednesday at home. He was 73.

A lifelong resident of Bell, Mr. Watkins was a farm worker. He attended Bell High School.

Survivors include nieces Sherry Muadres of Hawthorne and Alice McKay of Bell; nephews Ray Dees of Chiefland and Charles Polk of Old Town; and seven grand nieces and grand nephews.

Barbara Dell Anderson

HIGH SPRINGS -- Barbara Dell Anderson of High Springs died Saturday in Gainesville. She was 61.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Gainesville and moved to High Springs from Jacksonville 26 years ago. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Anderson of High Springs; one daughter, Terri Anderson of High Springs; one brother, Keith Dell of Spokane, Wash.; and an uncle, Williard Dell of High Springs.

Stella Bell Campbell

Stella Bell Campbell of Gainesville died Saturday in Gainesville. She was 93.

Mrs. Campbell was born in Monteocha and was a lifelong Alachua County resident.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Older Americans Council and the Navy Mothers Club, and a charter member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.

Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by two husbands, James C. Leverette and James Alexander Campbell; two sons, James C. Leverette and Otis D. Leverette; and one daughter, Carolyn L. Runnels.

Survivors include three sons, John Campbell of Ocala, Charles Leverette of Memphis, Tenn., and Elwood Leverette of Federal Way, Wash.; two brothers, Otis Bell of Williston and David Bell of Gainesville; one sister, Ethel Crummie of Fayetteville, N.C.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Ridgeview Baptist Church or Hospice of North Central Florida.

Grace Newins Franklin

Grace Newins Franklin of Gainesville died Sunday in Gainesville following a short illness. She was 84.

Mrs. Franklin was born in Corvallis, Ore., and moved to Gainesville from Michigan in 1937. She was a homemaker and a graduate of Michigan State University, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She also was an honorary life member of the First Presbyterian Church Women of the Church, a longtime church moderator of the women's circle and Sunday school teacher; an advisory board member of the University of Florida School of Forest Resources and Conservation, which was founded by her father, Harold S. Newins; and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Gainesville.

Survivors include her husband, Ben O. Franklin Jr. of Gainesville; two daughters, Molly Gamble and husband Harry of Selma, Ala., and Barbara Phillips and husband Larry of St. Simon's Island, Ga.; a son, Ben Franklin and wife Pam of Gainesville; and six grandchildren.

Edna Leo Hall

TRENTON -- Edna Leo Hall of Trenton died Sunday in her daughter's home in Bell. She was 82.

Mrs. Hall was born in Georgia and moved to Trenton 62 years ago. She worked for 18 years as a secretary to her late husband, former Gilchrist County Tax Collector Mark J. Hall, and was a member of Cherry Sink Church of Christ.

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Emma and Jeff Harrison; and grandson Jerry Wayne Hodge.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Hodge of Newberry and Joanne Roberts of Bell; one son, Jeff Hall of Bell; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Lucile Riherd Geiger

Lucile Riherd Geiger of Gainesville died Friday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 80.

The Lake Butler native graduated from Union County High School and Johns Hopkins University.

Mrs. Geiger moved to California in 1944, where she and her husband established and operated a convalescent home for 30 years.

She returned to Gainesville in 1982.

She was a member of the First United Church of Berkeley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee Geiger; a daughter, Eve Geiger; and a son, Mark Paul Geiger.

Survivors include two daughters, Ingrid Geiger Jaster of Germany and Lynn Geiger of Vallejo, Calif.; a sister, Frances Riherd White of Lake Butler; a brother, John M. Riherd of Daytona Beach; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
