Edward P. Lincoln Sr.

Edward P. Lincoln Sr. of Gainesville died Saturday at Shands at the University of Florida. He was 70.

A native of New York City, he moved to Gainesville in 1975.

He was a retired professor in the department of biological and agricultural engineering at the University of Florida.

He served in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division during the Korean War. He received his doctorate in zoology from the University of Arizona.

Dr. Lincoln won first place for his documentary film on Australia at the 1964 New York Film Festival.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Capco Lincoln of Gainesville; a daughter, Laura Capco Lincoln of Gainesville; a son, Edward Palmer Lincoln Jr. of Gainesville; and three brothers, James R. Lincoln of Pagossa Springs, Colo., Thomas C. Lincoln of Pasadena, Calif., and Peter C. Lincoln of Honolulu.

Rosita Hopps Nordwall

Rosita Hopps Nordwall of Gainesville died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 95.

A native of Mexico, Mrs. Nordwall moved to Gainesville in 1985.

She graduated from the University of Southern California. She served as national president of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and the National Panhellenic Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Robert Nordwall.

Survivors include two daughters, Liz Jones of Gainesville and Sigrid Smith of Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Rosita Hopps Nordwall Leadership Grant at Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

Peggy Hunter Sites

Peggy Hunter Sites of Gainesville died Monday at Shands at AGH following an extended illness. She was 90.

Mrs. Sites was born in England and moved to Gainesville from Winter Haven in 1956. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

She was graduated from Ohio State University, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Mrs. Sites was a member of the University Women's Club and the Gainesville Woman's Club.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Sites was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Sites.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Sites Pesek of Jacksonville and Kathryn Sites Shewey of Gainesville; a son, John E. Sites of Gainesville; three grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

Pamela Jayne Watson

TRENTON -- Pamela Jayne Watson, a lifelong resident of Trenton, died Tuesday in Trenton. She was 44.

Mrs. Watson was a lab technician and a Baptist.

Survivors include a son, Adam Watson of Trenton; and three sisters, Tonya Gainey and Mary Arrington, both of Trenton, and Laverne Paxton of Bronson.

Ruth Williams

Ruth Williams of Kalamazoo, Mich., died Saturday in Michigan. She was 91.

The former Gainesville resident was a professor and chairwoman of the department of medical technology at the University of Florida. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church.

She has no local survivors.

Kenneth C. Winslow

Kenneth C. Winslow of Gainesville died Saturday in Gainesville following an extended illness. He was 88.

Mr. Winslow was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and moved to Gainesville from Pompano Beach 13 years ago.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Grace Winslow of Gainesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia A. and John Bannister of Micanopy; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael G. and Susan Winslow of Gainesville; four grandchildren, Dan Pavlik, Doug Pavlik, Kit Pavlik and Kara Winslow; and five great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Ann Blake

Elizabeth Ann "Beth" Blake of Gainesville died Thursday. She was 41.

She was born in Eustis and moved to Gainesville from Leesburg in 1982. She graduated from the University of Florida and was a paralegal.

She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg.

Survivors include her parents, Tom and Nancy Blake of Leesburg; brothers Robert Blake of Woodbridge, Va., and Scott Blake of Leesburg; and her sister, Debra Semmler.

David Bass

O'BRIEN - David Bass died Tuesday in his home after a long illness.

He was 62.

Mr. Bass was a native of Trenton and a truck driver for Mizell's Farm and Garden Store in Live Oak.

He was Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Monice Bass of O'Brien; a daughter, Rebecca Jane Bass of O'Brien; a son, Wallace Bass of O'Brien; brothers Leon Bass of Fort White and Junior Bass of O'Brien; and three grandchildren.

Thomas Wade Bright

Thomas Wade Bright of Gainesville died Wednesday at his home.

He was 59.

Mr. Bright was born in Baltimore and moved to Gainesville in 1970. He owned a cylinder head exchange machine shop.

He graduated from St. Andrews School in Sewanee, Tenn., and attended the University of Florida before joining the Air Force. He enjoyed tennis, woodworking and furniture making.

He is survived by a brother, John Bright.

Ruby Burkholder

Ruby Burkholder of Gainesville died Monday at Integrated Health Services in Gainesville after a brief illness.

She was 94.

She was born in Boston and moved to Gainesville six years ago. She was a U.S. Navy office clerk and volunteered with the Grant Auxiliary in Melbourne.

She enjoyed traveling, sewing, knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include a daughter, Edna Rambo of Gainesville; sons Edwin Dixon of England and Robert Dixon of South Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Sherri Gail Coppage

TRENTON - Sherri Gail Coppage died Aug. 16 in Tampa.

She was 19.

She was born in Wintergarden and was a cosmetologist. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Newberry.

She was preceded in death by a maternal grandmother, Betty Knight.

Survivors include her father, Tony Lamar of Dade City; her mother, Connie Sundeen of Trenton; a daughter, Heavin Lee Holloway; sisters Misty Coppage of Trenton and Savanna Coppage of Dade City; brothers Levi and Ben Coppage, both of Clermont; maternal grandparents, Don and Shirley Knight, both of Mascotte; paternal grandparents, Will and Hulean Coppage of Groveland; a maternal great-grandmother, Fannie Knight of Groveland; and paternal great-grandmother, Inez Coppage of Groveland.
