PERRY - Dorothy Jean Couey, a lifelong resident of Perry, died Sunday in Perry. She was 70.
Mrs. Couey was a licensed beautician and a member of Boyd New Life Methodist Church and a past member of Perry Lady Elks Auxiliary.
She was the daughter of Olin Ashley and Edna Irene Hendry Holton.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Hoover and Edna Mae Couey, both of Perry; two sons, Bobby Couey and Ashley Couey, both of Perry; three brothers, Ralph Holton, Steve Holton and David Holton, all of Perry; five grandchildren, Shelby Couey, Derek Couey, Devin Couey, Jessica Hoover and Tyler Pitts; and four great-grandchildren, Alex Couey, Libby Couey, Landon Couey and Makenzie Cannon.
John H. Daughtridge
John H. Daughtridge, a resident of the Atrium, died Friday in Gainesville. He was 90.
Mr. Daughtridge was born in Greenville, N.C., and moved to Gainesville from Wilmington, Del., 18 years ago.
He began his career with E. I. duPont de Nemours & Co. as a chemist and retired as director of Industrial Chemical Sales after more than 40 years of service.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Southern Seniors Golf Association.
Mr. Daughtridge graduated from The Citadel in 1930.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Eunice H. Daughtridge of Gainesville; a daughter, Lee D. Turner of Gainesville; two grandchildren, Jonathan Turner and Jenna Turner, both of Gainesville; and a niece, Sue Guthrie of Mississippi.
Beatrice J. Helzel
Beatrice J. Helzel of Gainesville died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 90.
Mrs. Helzel was born in Duquesne, Pa., and moved to Gainesville in 1960.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Family Life Baptist Church.
She was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara H. Monday of Gainesville, Vivian H. Poole of Alachua and Jean L. Welch of Leesburg; a son, Gerald E. Helzel of Franklin, N.C.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Eugene Joseph Kurdupski
Eugene Joseph Kurdupski of Gainesville died Sunday at Palm Gardens Nursing Home following a lingering illness.
He was 84.
Mr. Kurdupski was born in New Castle, Pa., and moved to Gainesville from Westland, Mich., in 1986.
He was a retired cable splicer with Michigan Bell Telephone.
He was a veteran of World War II and was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Helen Kurdupski of Gainesville; a daughter, Sandra Meroth of Carson, Calif.; a son, Ronald Kurdupski of Gainesville; a sister, Mary Dudek of New Castle, Pa.; a brother, Ted Kurdupski of Hermitage, Pa.; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Kyle Louis Rivera
FANNING SPRINGS - Kyle Louis Rivera of Cedar Key died Sunday in an automobile accident near Cross City.
He was 32.
Mr. Rivera was born in Williamantic, Conn., and moved to Cedar Key from Melrose last year.
He was a carpenter and roofer.
He was a Christian.
Survivors include his wife, Lilly Rivera of Cedar Key; three sons, Johnny Rivera and Kail Rivera, both of Cedar Key, and Zack Rivera of Florahome; his mother, Gail L. Ashley of Keystone Heights; two sisters, Tracie Hellman and Shawna Muldowney, both of Keystone Heights; and two brothers, Blaine Rivera of Dade City and Eric Rivera of Melrose.
Sam D. Roebuck
Sam D. Roebuck of Melbourne died Wednesday.
He was 75.
Mr. Roebuck was born in Gainesville. He attended elementary school in Archer.
He is survived by his wife, Lousie B. Roebuck of Melbourne; local survivors include a brother, Lawrence Roebuck of Hawthorne.
Frank Wilrose Tatro Jr.
TRENTON - Frank Wilrose Tatro Jr. died Tuesday at his nephew's residence in Trenton. He was 70.
Mr. Tatro recently moved to Trenton from Tarpon Springs.
He was a commercial fisherman for 40 years and a member of the Organized Fishermen of Florida.
Survivors include a brother, Pete Tatro of Spencer, Mass.; and two nephews, Lionel Tatro of Trenton and Peter Tatro of Oviedo; and a niece, Tammra Tatro of Trenton.
James Robert Yost
TRENTON - James Robert Yost of Trenton died Monday at Tri-County Nursing Home.
He was 66.
Mr. Yost was born in Lodi, Ohio, and moved to Trenton 27 years ago.
He was the oldest child of Winfield Strenick and Gertrude Daniels Yost.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Yost attended DeVry Tech.
He worked for the Postal Service in Lodi and operated a television repair business in both Ohio and Florida.
Survivors include three brothers, Jack F. Yost of Trenton, John W. Yost of Lodi and Jerry L. Yost of Sarcoxie, Mo.

John Allen Bass
LAKE BUTLER -- John Allen Bass of Lake Butler died Saturday night in the Lake City Medical Center following an extended illness. He was 89.
Mr. Bass was born in Newberry and moved to Lake Butler in 1992. He was a retired plumber for the University of Florida and a member of the First Baptist Church of Newberry.
Survivors include five sons, W. Allen Bass of Lake Butler, J. Monroe Bass of Punta Gorda; Bascom B. Bass of Divine, Texas, and Robert E. Bass and Bennett Bass, both of Lecanto; two daughters, Martha B. Holder of Newberry and Susan B. Boling of Punta Gorda; one sister, Videll B. Smith of Brooker; 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Quinn Blitch
ALACHUA -- Quinn Blitch of Alachua died Saturday. He was 44.
Mr. Blitch was born in DeLand and grew up in Bell. He was a sales representative for heating and air-conditioning supplies.
Survivors include a son, Kyle Quinn Blitch of Alachua; two stepsons, Kenneth Brad Thomas of Lawtey and Nicholas Edward Thomas of Alachua; one brother, Joseph Blitch of Cross City; and three sisters, Esther Lampp of Graceville and Betty Lee and Nancy Clark, both of Trenton.
Edna Dobbs Cason
Edna Dobbs Cason of Jacksonville died Saturday night in Jacksonville after a brief illness. She was 84.
Mrs. Cason was born in Raiford and lived most of her life in Jacksonville. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Hills Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Survivors include a son, Harold Leon Cason of Jacksonville; a daughter, Louise Cason Jones of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Julia Thomas Kroll
Julia Thomas Kroll of Gainesville died Friday in Gainesville after a sudden illness. She was 77.
Mrs. Kroll was born in Knoxville, Tenn., the daughter of late Fred and Henrietta Bear, founder of Bear Archery. She was raised in Wisconsin and moved to Gainesville in 1978 from Grayling, Mich., when Bear Archery relocated to Gainesville.
She was active in many civic and political organizations and attended Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Charles MacKenzie Kroll of Gainesville; one daughter, Hannah Weinman of Iowa City, Iowa; one brother, Michael Steger of California; grandchildren Annie and Taurin McGrath, and Christopher McNabb; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
