LAKE CITY -- Lawrence E. Miller died Saturday at his home in Lake City after a long illness. He was 75.
Mr. Miller was born in Spokane, Wash., and lived most of his life in Live Oak, Lake Butler and Lake City.
He was an installer and repairman with GTE until he retired.
He was a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church north of Lake City.
He was preceded in death by a son, Guy Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Leona J. Chattin Miller of Lake City; two sons, Steve Miller of High Springs and Terry Miller of Decatur, Ill.; four stepdaughters, Ann Loreen Cross of Starke, Sherry Ann Ivy of Brownsville, Tenn., Yvonne Gladkowskie of Joliet, Ill., and Terry Rhoden of Lake City; two stepsons, Jerry Hall and Raymond Hall, both of Lake City; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Jesse Lowell Reaves
Jesse Lowell Reaves of Gainesville died Saturday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City. He was 56.
Mr. Reaves was born in South Boston, Va., and moved to Gainesville 33 years ago. He was a welder and a Navy veteran of Vietnam. He was a Methodist.
Mr. Reaves is survived by his son, John Reaves of Gainesville; his mother, Elizabeth Reaves of South Boston; two brothers, Jerry Reaves and Allen Reaves, both of South Boston; and a sister, Lorene Reaves of South Boston.
Virginia H. Singley
Virginia H. Singley of Gainesville died Saturday at Shands at the University of Florida. She was 76.
Mrs. Singley was born in Atlanta and moved to Gainesville in 1967. She was a homemaker and volunteer.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder, served as a sessions member and was the treasurer.
Mrs. Singley volunteered at Shands with the women's auxiliary from 1968 to 1988.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, J. Edward Singley of Gainesville; four daughters, Gladys Elizabeth Nason, Ann Marie Sproul and Patricia Lipsig, all of Gainesville, and Peggy Singley Moylan of Claremont, Calif; and 11 grandchildren.

John L. Wilkinson
John L. Wilkinson of Gainesville died Sunday at his home. He was 65.
Mr. Wilkinson was born in Kentucky and moved to Gainesville 40 years ago. He was the retired owner of a landscape company. He was a volunteer at Sunbridge Nursing Home.
Mr. Wilkinson is survived by his wife, Charlotte Wilkinson of Gainesville; a daughter, Grace Ann Hamm of Hayden, Idaho; a brother, Art Hill of Thorofare, N.J.; and three sisters, Margaret Edwards of Farmsville, N.C., Josephine Tyler of Canedea, N.J., and Tammy Bulla of Laurel, Md.

Henry David 'Ye'le' ' Wilson
Henry David "Ye'le'" Wilson died Thursday at his home in Gainesville after a short illness. He was 51.
Mr. Wilson was born in Port Chester, N.Y., and moved to Gainesville from Queens, N.Y., 17 years ago.
Mr. Wilson was a teacher at the Caring, Sharing & Learning School and the A. Quinn Jones Center.
He received a bachelor's degree from Howard University and a master's degree from Columbia University.
Mr. Wilson was a teaching mentor for area middle and high school students. He was a volunteer at Kanapaha Botanical Garden and the St. Francis House, served on the at Rawlings Elementary and was a member of 100 Black Men, the Wellness Center and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the Conference on Black Children.
Mr. Wilson was a recipient of a Teaching Award for the year 2000.
He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife Sue Clary-Wilson of Gainesville; a son, David E. Wilson of Starke; two daughters, Dawn E. Wilson of Gainesville, Natasha O'Donnell of Pontiac, Mich.; a sister, Debra "FO" Wilson of Berkeley, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
Wesley V. Campbell
CEDAR KEY -- Wesley V. Campbell of Cedar Key died of cancer Saturday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 52.
Mr. Campbell was born in Ocala and lived in Cedar Key most of his life. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a clam farmer. He attended Cedar Key United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Campbell of Cedar Key; three daughters, Davita Carman of Chrisville, Md., and Sarah Campbell and Emily Campbell, both of Cedar Key; four brothers, William Campbell, Steve Campbell, John Campbell and Phillip Campbell, all of Cedar Key; two sisters, Sylvia Brown and Elaine Rains, both of Cedar Key; his mother, Ilene Campbell of Cedar Key; and two grandsons.
Joann Padgett Beville
Joann Padgett Beville of Alachua died Friday in Starke. She was 86.
Mrs. Beville was born in Jasper and moved to Alachua from Gainesville 43 years ago. She was a homemaker. She attended Hamilton County public schools and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Gainesville until 1950. She was then a member of First Baptist Church of Alachua, serving as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Survivors include a son, John E. Beville of Alachua; a sister, Leona Cason of High Springs; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
James A. Chadwick
DAYTONA BEACH -- James A. Chadwick of Daytona Beach died Friday in Daytona Beach after a brief illness. He was 88.
Mr. Chadwick was born in Franklin, Pa., and moved to Daytona Beach from Gainesville in 1978. He graduated from Kirby Smith Grammar School, Gainesville High School and the University of Florida, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Mr. Chadwick was a veteran of World War II, participating in three campaigns in Italy and earning the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star. He retired in 1966 after 33 years of combined federal service with the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Postal Service and the Army.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Simmons Chadwick of Daytona Beach.
Carl J. Dukes
Carl J. Dukes of Newberry died Saturday in Gainesville. He was 86.
Mr. Dukes was born in the community of Dukes and moved to Gainesville from Trenton 59 years ago. He recently moved to Newberry. Mr. Dukes was a steamfitter with the University of Florida physical plant division and a charter member of Southwest United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Dukes of Newberry; two daughters, Margaret Mingin of Jonesboro, Ga., and Kathy Dukes of Newberry; a son, Gary Dukes of Archer; a brother, Hugh Dukes of Birmingham, Ala; a sister, Ethel Harris of LaCrosse; and three grandchildren.
Doris Lee Fenwick
Doris Lee Fenwick of Archer died Thursday in Gainesville. She was 70.
Mrs. Fenwick was born in Baltimore and moved to Archer from Newberry 15 years ago. She was active in professional dog training, enjoyed arts and crafts, and was a onetime member of a jousting club in Maryland. She was a Lutheran.
Survivors include her husband, Chris Fenwick of Archer; a daughter, Roseanna Gut of Jacksonville; a son, Philip Sigsimondi of Roanoke, Va.; and three grandchildren.
Vivian Jones Goeller
Vivian Jones Goeller of Gainesville died Saturday after a long illness. She was 78.
Mrs. Goeller was born in Pitcairn, Pa., and moved to Gainesville from New York 42 years ago. She retired from the University of Florida in 1985, was a volunteer with the auxiliary at Shands at AGH, was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville and was a poll worker in many Alachua County elections.
Mrs. Goeller was preceded in death by her husband, William Goeller, and her sister, Shirley Boullianne.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Goeller Kolba of Fort Worth, Texas; a son, Casey William Goeller of Carlsbad, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Alexander Cook Bowen
Alexander Cook Bowen, the 2-year-old child of Robin G. and James C. Bowen of Gainesville, died Thursday at Shands at the University of Florida.
Alexander loved cars, boats, jets and puppy dogs.
In addition to his parents, Alexander is survived by three brothers, Christopher Bowen, Noah Bowen and Fen Bowen, all of Gainesville; his grandmothers, Yukie Bowen of New Smyrna Beach and Evelyn LeCain of Miami; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Capt. Meredith S. Burch
Capt. Meredith S. Burch died Aug. 8 at his residence in Atlantic Beach. He was 67.
Capt. Burch was born in Bogalusa, La., and moved to Atlantic Beach from Winter Springs in 1996.
A graduate of Loyola Dental School in New Orleans, Capt. Burch served as a U.S. Navy oral surgeon.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Jean Burch of Atlantic Beach; four daughters, Beverly Allten of Ponte Vedra Beach, Brenda Bosnic of Marriottsville, Md., Rebecca Oosting of Jacksonville and Gwen Burch of Orlando; a sister, Connie Bradley of Marietta, Ga.; a brother, the Rev. Dalton R. Burch Jr. of Gainesville; and seven grandchildren.
Capt. Burch was buried at sea with full military honors under the auspices of the U. S. Navy.
