Albert G. Welch
Albert G. Welch of Gainesville died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 86.
Mr. Welch was born in Kennebunkport, Maine, and moved to Gainesville from Durham, N.H., in 1957.
He was a retired U.S. Army colonel, an associate professor with the College of Engineering at the University of Florida and a retired mechanical engineer.
He was a member of the Retired Officers Association, St. Augustine Catholic Church and a former member of the old "Triangle Flying Club."
Mr. Welch was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Welch.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Grace Satur of Littleton, Colo.; and three sons, Albert Clark Welch of Littleton, Edward F. Welch of Hilton Head, S.C., and Jay Welch of Gainesville.

Harry M. Adkisson Jr.
Harry M. "Tommy" Adkisson, a lifelong resident of Gainesville, died Monday in Lake City following an extended illness. He was 45.
Mr. Adkisson was born in Tampa and moved to Gainesville at an early age. He was a telecommunications contractor for more than 20 years.
He is survived by a sister, Susan A. Rhea of Lake City; and a son, Kyle Adkisson of Jacksonville.
Melody Lyn Coblentz
WILLISTON - Melody Lyn Coblentz of Williston died Sunday in an automobile accident. She was 46.
Mrs. Coblentz was born in Bradenton and moved to Williston 20 years ago.
She was a registered nurse at Williston Hospital extended patient care unit, where she was presented with the Outstanding and Dedicated Service Award.
She was a Methodist.
Survivors include a daughter, Heather Coblentz of Williston; a son, Heath Coblentz of Williston; her mother, Barbara Pitkin of Williston; a sister, Wendy Bentley of Ellenton; and five brothers, Cashley Pitkin of Williston, Randy Pitkin of Burbank, Calif., Daryl Pitkin of Canandaiqua, N.Y., Stacey Pitkin of Lorraine, N.Y., and Bradley Pitkin of Watertown, N.Y.
Kenneth A. Thomas
BROOKER - Kenneth A. Thomas died Thursday at his residence in Brooker. He was 57.
Mr. Thomas was born in Bradford County and lived in North Carolina before returning to the area in 1991.
He was a retired inspector for Weeks Construction Co.
He was a member of the North Gainesville Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, John B. Thomas of Brooker; his mother, Edna Harrell of Brooker; and a brother, Dwight L. Thomas of Brooker.
Jean Fleming Mattox
Jean Fleming Mattox of Gainesville died Thursday at Sunbridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 79.
Mrs. Mattox was born in Louisburg, N.C., and lived in Virginia before moving to Gainesville 1 years ago.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Crawford Mattox.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Yukevich of Vineyard Haven, Mass., and Judith Nagen of Gainesville; and four grandchildren.
Gregory Paul Hatch
LIVE OAK - Gregory Paul Hatch died Friday at his residence in Live Oak following a brief illness. He was 48.
Mr. Hatch was a lifelong resident of Live Oak.
He was a self-employed escort driver and a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Raenell Hatch of Live Oak; two daughters, Sara Hatch and Edith Hatch, both of Live Oak; and a stepdaughter, Fatima Smith of Atlanta.
David Joseph Argenti Jr.
David Joseph Argenti Jr. of Gainesville died Sunday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City following an extended illness. He was 78.
Mr. Argenti was born in Englewood, N.J., and moved to Gainesville more than 10 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a retired electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Argenti of Gainesville; two daughters, Patricia Alcorn of Plano, Texas, and Rita Kobb of Gainesville; a son, David Argenti of Columbia, Tenn.; three sisters, Carolyn Crossland of Denver, Teresa Flenner of Bergenfield, N.J., and Patricia Simek of Bogota, N.J.; and three brothers, Joseph Argenti of Gainesville, Robert Argenti of Indian River and Rudolph Argenti of Troy, Ala.

William E. Baker
KEYSTONE HEIGHTS - William E. Baker, a lifelong resident of Keystone Heights, died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 75.
Mr. Baker was a retired postmaster and a member of the Keystone United Methodist Church.
He graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy and later served in the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Keystone Sportsman Club, the Keystone Golf & Country Club, the Melrose Masonic Lodge and the Keystone Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Baker of Keystone Heights; a daughter, Carol Bowers of Chevy Chase, Md.; a son, Edwin Baker of Dade City; two brothers, Lex Baker of Marion, N.C., and Anthony Baker of Keystone Heights; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Sybil McCall Crawford
HIGH SPRINGS - Sybil McCall Crawford of High Springs died Friday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 81.
Mrs. Crawford was born in High Springs and lived in Panama City before returning to High Springs in 1963.
She was a retired vice president with Barnett Bank of Alachua County and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of High Springs. She was a recipient of the 1985 Citizen of the Year Award and a former director of the High Springs Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include two sons, Louis M. Crawford of Tampa and Mac Crawford of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Frances M. Summers of High Springs; a brother, L.E. McCall of Orange Park; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Herschel Hoyle Daniels
Herschel Hoyle Daniels of Gainesville died Tuesday in Gainesville. He was 80.
Mr. Daniels was born in Salem, Ill., and moved to Gainesville in 1959.
He was a serviceman for Norgas Co. and a member of the Gator Chapter No. 143 of the National Association of Civilian Conservation Corp.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Daniels of Gainesville; four daughters, Paula Peel of Jacksonville, Earlene Whitesides of Ocala, Susan Elwood of Gainesville and Kathy White of Trenton; a sister, Lena Beard of Salem, Ill.; two nieces, Wanda Aldrich of Alma, Ill., and Edith Wilkins of Salem, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.
Mary A. Davis
Mary A. Davis of Gainesville died Sept. 28 at Shands at AGH following a brief illness. She was 77.
Mrs. Davis was born in Youngs Island, S.C., and moved to Gainesville from Leesburg 39 years ago.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lake Front Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Nathaniel Davis of Gainesville; two daughters, Bitsy Davis and Valerie Aycock, both of Gainesville; four sisters, Rosa Lee Doctor, Inez Horry and Lily Mae Trampus, all of Youngs Island, and Francis Cochrane of Charleston, S.C.; and three grandchildren.
Eunice Wimberly Goodwin
Eunice Wimberly Goodwin of Gainesville died Tuesday in Gainesville. She was 91.
Mrs. Goodwin was born in Savannah, Ga., and moved to Gainesville from Chestertown, Md., in 1946. She was a homemaker and a Presbyterian. She was the widow of Frank Goodwin.
Mrs. Goodwin is survived by her caretakers, Suzanne Page of Gainesville and Betty Baxley of Jacksonville.
Mary Wadsworth Huston
Mary Wadsworth Huston, a native and longtime resident of Pennsylvania, died Friday at the Hospice House of Gainesville. She was 90.
Mrs. Huston was a seamstress and a member of the Church of the Savior in Wayne, Pa., where she was active as an "Older Wiser Loving Senior" and the children's ministry.
Survivors include a son, Dr. E. Lee Huston of Gainesville; a daughter, Melinda Buurma of St. Davids, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
