Felix S. Sapp

STARKE -- Felix S. Sapp, a lifelong resident of Starke, died Monday at Brookewood Nursing Center in Starke following an extended illness. He was 92.

Mr. Sapp was a retired farmer and Starke Police Department employee.

He was a member of the Pine Level Baptist Church.

He is survived by eight sisters, Frieda Norman, Agnes Heath, Ella Mae Chastain, Hazel Warren and Marie Tilley, all of Starke, Louise Sanderson of St. Augustine, Margaret Reyes of Jacksonville and Selma Ray of Franklin, Tenn.

Charles Edward Schmonsees

Charles Edward Schmonsees of Clearwater died May 12 at Highland Pines Nursing Home in Clearwater. He was 91.

Mr. Schmonsees was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., and lived in Sandwich, Mass., for most of his life before moving to Clearwater in 1998.

He was a retired schoolteacher, and he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a Unitarian.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Dee Schmonsees of Clearwater; three stepdaughters, Barbara Field of Mechanicsville, Md., Sally Wanner of Fort White and Cynthia Steinmann of Clearwater; nine grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.

Elaine Marie Huth Spillers

Elaine Marie Huth Spillers of Gainesville died May 21 following an extended illness. She was 61.

Mrs. Spillers was born in Akron, Ohio, and moved to Florida 31 years ago.

She was a former employee of North Florida Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Cooper of Gainesville; a son, James D. McKee of Great Falls, Mont.; her parents, Herman and Lorrayne Huth of Mogadore, Ohio; three sisters, Ruby Luke of Akron, Donna Hollshy of Mogadore and Ann Stouffer of Tallmadge, Ohio; three brothers, Herman Huth Jr., Elton Huth and Tim Huth, all of Mogadore; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Hospice House of Gainesville.

Ancil Council Tetstone Jr.

STARKE -- Ancil Council "Sonny" Tetstone Jr., a lifelong resident of Starke, died in an automobile accident Monday.

He was 55.

Mr. Tetstone was a retired construction worker and a Baptist.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shena Corbin.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Corbin Tetstone of Starke; two sons, David Cary Smith and Randy Corbin, both of Starke; a sister, Frances Rehberg of Starke; and three grandchildren.

William Cordell Vanzant

William Cordell Vanzant, a longtime resident of Hilliard, died Monday. He was 71.

Mr. Vanzant was the pastor of Cornerstone Church in Hilliard.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Vanzant of Hilliard; two daughters, Cheryl Elmore of Hawthorne and Dale Schwend of Jacksonville; a son, Barry Vanzant of Hawthorne; a sister, June Geiger of Hilliard; two brothers, Eddie Vanzant and Gerald Vanzant, both of Hilliard; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Richard Keith Overley

Richard Keith Overley of Gainesville died Saturday in Gainesville. He was 74.

Mr. Overley was a retired transportation supervisor with Central Truck Lines.

Born in St. Petersburg, he moved from Jacksonville to Gainesville 25 years ago.

He was a Protestant.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia C. Overley of Gainesville; a brother, Wayne Overley of Crystal River; and a sister, Gwen Mason of Inverness.

William Preston Rush

William Preston Rush of Gainesville died Saturday in Gainesville. He was 78.

Mr. Rush was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He served during World War II and was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor bombing. He also served in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, and the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Born in Riderwood, Ala., he moved from Rochester, N.Y., to Gainesville two months ago.

Mr. Rush was a Protestant.

Survivors include four daughters, Suzanne Wheeler of Batavia, N.Y., Deborah Craft and Denise Rush, both of Rochester, and Sharon Rush of Gainesville; a brother, Gifton E. Rush Jr. of Clanton, Ala.; a sister, Dorothy Chambers of Birmingham, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Lubertha Allen

CHIEFLAND -- Lubertha Allen, a lifelong resident of Chiefland, died suddenly Nov. 9 at Levy County Nature Coast Regional Hospital. She was 45.

Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and a member of Westside Church of Christ in Chiefland.

She was educated through the Levy County school system.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Allen of Chiefland; a daughter, Angela Barr of Chiefland; five sons, Thomas Barr, James Barr, Gregory Allen, Christopher McCray and Johnathan Allen, all of Chiefland; a stepdaughter, Bernadette Teresa of Chiefland; a stepson, Johnny Allen Jr. of Chiefland; her mother, Vera Lois Burns of Chiefland; her grandmother, Mary Lottie Hunter of Gainesville; two sisters, Alice Faye Johnson of Chiefland and Sallie Mae Norris of Fairfield; two brothers, Harry Burns and Charles Sharpe, both of Chiefland; and three grandchildren.

Susie Thompson-Bowers

CHIEFLAND -- Susie Thompson-Bowers, a lifelong resident of Chiefland, died Sunday at her daughter's home in Trenton after an extended illness. She was 80.

She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Chiefland.

Survivors include six daughters, Daisy Bowers, Alma Flanders, Elizabeth Heath, Mildred Green and Betty Johnson, all of Chiefland, and Ella McQuee of Trenton; five sons, Charlie Bowers, Freddie Bowers, Clyde Bowers and Willie Bowers, all of Chiefland, and Jimmie Bowers of Gainesville; a brother, Hio Thompson of Chiefland; 56 grandchildren, 117 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Charles Willard Foote

Charles Willard Foote of Gainesville died Tuesday at Shands at the University of Florida. He was 62.

Mr. Foote was born in Conesus, N.Y., and moved to Gainesville 21 years ago.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a police officer in Endicott, N.Y., and he was a deputy sheriff in Livingston County, N.Y. He retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville after 16 years.

He was an avid Gator fan and a member of the UF Gator Gymnastics Boosters.

He was a member of the Rock of Gainesville Church, where he enjoyed working with children.

Survivors include his wife, Aileen Foote of Gainesville; two sons, Matthew Foote and Kenneth Foote, both of Gainesville; a brother, Robert Foote of Graham, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

Victoria Frazier

Victoria Frazier of Miami died Sunday at Parkway Regional Hospital in Miami. She was 75.

Mrs. Frazier was born Gainesville and moved to Miami in 1944.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in Gainesville.

She was a member of Jesus People Ministry Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Durham and Gloria Williams.

Dorothy Lois Johnson

CHIEFLAND -- Dorothy Lois Johnson, a lifelong resident of Chiefland, died Nov. 10 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was 82.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of Chiefland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pirly Johnson.

She is survived by eight cousins, including Lela Clark of Archer, Armilla Sims of Trenton and Stanley Strobles of Micanopy.

Clyde Edward Williams Sr.

JOHNSON -- Clyde Edward Williams Sr., a lifelong resident of Johnson, died Friday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center after an extended illness. He was 72.

Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Survivors include his wife, Fannie Bessent Williams of Johnson; four daughters, Gloria Paulin of Miami, Barbara Foster of Hollywood, Mary Scott of Miramar and Tammy Williams of Johnson; four sons, Clyde Williams Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Charles E. Williams of Gainesville, Alphonso Williams and Dwight Williams, both of Johnson; a sister, Susie Dawson of Reddick; 28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
