Connie C. Pirrello

Connie C. Pirrello of Gainesville died Friday in Gainesville. She was 79.

Mrs. Pirrello was a retired postal clerk. Born in New York City, she moved from New Port Richey to Gainesville 12 years ago. She was a member of the Country Club Estate Association of New Port Richey.

Mrs. Pirrello was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Pirrello.

Survivors include a daughter, Dee Pirrello of Gainesville; and two brothers, Victor Petrillo of Norwalk, Conn., and Fred Pitaniello of Flushing, N.Y.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Alzheimer's Association of North Central Florida in Gainesville.

Nita Powers

BELL -- Nita Powers of Bell died Friday at her home.

Mrs. Powers was a homemaker and a former teacher at Bell Elementary School.

Born in Banner, Va., she moved from Virginia to Bell almost 40 years ago.

She was educated at the University of Florida.

Mrs. Powers was a Protestant and a member of the Nature Conservancy and the Keepsake Quilters.

Survivors include her husband, Allen Powers of Bell; two sons, Philip Powers of Perry and A.W. Powers of Trenton; her mother, Kathleen Burton of Wise, Va.; a brother, Ben Burton of Chilhowie, Va.; two sisters, Patricia Leon of Miami and Janet Anderson of Christiansburg, Va.; and one granddaughter.

James Moorman Parrish

James Moorman Parrish of Gainesville, president of M.M. Parrish and Associates, died unexpectedly Thursday in Orlando. He was 52.

Mr. Parrish was a Realtor and a lifelong resident of Gainesville.

Mr. Parrish was president of the Gainesville Board of Realtors, the Florida Association of Realtors and the Commercial Investment Members State Chapter. He chaired various committees of the National Association of Realtors and was a member of the Commercial Investment Committee.

Mr. Parrish was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Darby Parrish of Gainesville; a daughter, Amanda Parrish of Gainesville; two sons, James M. Parrish Jr. and M. Darby Parrish, both of Gainesville; a brother, H.H. Parrish Jr. of Coral Springs; and his aunt and uncle, Mary and M.M. Parrish of Gainesville.

Glenna C. Damron

CHIEFLAND -- Glenna C. "DeeDee" Damron of Chiefland died Friday at North Florida Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 88.

Mrs. Damron was a homemaker and a member of the Cross City Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Born in Silt, Colo., she moved to Florida as a teen-ager.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ralph Bruce Damron.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Ollie E. Damron of Chiefland; two sons, Chester H. Damron of DeBary and Roger E. Damron of Chiefland; a brother, Jack B. Cooksey of Newburgh, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of gifts to the children's radio program "Your Story Hour" in Berrien Springs, Mich.

Mildred Louise Turner

BELL -- Mildred Louise Turner of Bell died Saturday at her home. She was 84.

Mrs. Turner was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Born in Orlando, she moved from Bushnell to Bell 17 years ago.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph James Turner of Bell; a son, Bob Yowler of Apopka; three stepdaughters, Joann Hawkins of Wales, Md., Susan Beardsley of St. Augustine and Gale Ryals of Bell; a stepson, Jim Turner of Clearwater; a sister, Bessie Rowell of Orlando; two brothers, M.D. Long of Gulf Hammock and Bud Long of Chiefland; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Edward Robert Pfeffer

HAWTHORNE - Edward Robert Pfeffer of Hawthorne died Wednesday in his home. He was 76.

Mr. Pfeffer was born in Gaines, N.Y., and moved to Hawthorne from Perrysburg, N.Y., 10 years ago. He was a machine repairman for Ford Motor Co., attended the First Assembly of God and was an amateur radio operator.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Mary Pfeffer of Hawthorne; two daughters, Carol Perryman of Buffalo, N.Y., and Anne Stuart of Springville, N.Y.; three sons, Ronald Pfeffer of Farnham, N.Y., William Pfeffer of Hawthorne and David Diodato of Fredonia, N.Y.; one brother, Harold Pfeffer of Cocoa; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jean Delores Johnson Taylor

TALLAHASSEE - Jean Delores Johnson Taylor of Tallahassee died Tuesday in Tallahassee. She was 64.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Palmetto and lived in Tallahassee since 1976. She was a registered nurse.

Survivors include two daughters, Althoria Jean Taylor of Tallahassee and Angeline Johnson Taylor of Gainesville.

Raymond A. Williams Sr.

STARKE - The Rev. Raymond A. Williams Sr. of Starke died Sunday at Shands at Starke hospital. He was 83.

The Rev. Williams was born in Nashville, Tenn., and moved to Bradford County in 1972. He was a retired building contractor and minister. He also worked at Archie Tanner Funeral Home and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Willie O'Steen and Norma Roush, both of Hampton; three sons, Anthony "Tony" Williams of Live Oak, Raymond A. Williams of Starke and Donald Williams of Lake City; two sisters, Marie Doremus of Nashville and Hazel Doremus of Tampa; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Arthur William Brock

STARKE - Arthur William Brock of Starke died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 79.

Mr. Brock was born in Elberton, Ga., and moved to Starke from Spartenburg, S.C., in 1964.

He was a retired service manager at Ford Motor Co. and a retired chief communications officer with the Bradford County Sheriff's Office.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Mr. Brock was a member of First Baptist Church of Starke.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Moore Brock of Starke; two daughters, Ruth Wayne Hodge of Sumter, S.C., and Judith Elaine Mabry of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sons, James Roger Guthrie of Starke and Carlton Thomas Guthrie of Hilliard; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Walter A. Charpentier

CHIEFLAND - Walter A. Charpentier of Chiefland died at his home Saturday. He was 75.

Mr. Charpentier was born in Providence, R.I., and moved to Chiefland from Groton, Conn., 17 years ago.

He retired from Electric Boat Co. in Groton as a shipfitter in 1982 after 28 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Charpentier of Chiefland; two daughters, Helen Fabie of Seattle and Judy Poirier of Mystic, Conn.; a brother, Vincent Charpentier of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Ernie J. Clark

HIGH SPRINGS - Ernie J. Clark of High Springs died Tuesday at his residence following a lingering illness. He was 76.

Mr. Clark was born in Detroit and moved to High Springs from Pompano Beach two years ago.

He was a P.O.W. during World War II. He participated in the Bataan Death March. He was awarded a Purple Heart, two Bronze Battle Stars, and the Victory Medal.

He was a member of the American Legion and the American Ex POWs.

Mr. Clark was a member of St. Madeleine's Catholic Church in High Springs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Clark; and a son, Patrick Clark.

Survivors include his daughter, Debbrah Dowdy of High Springs; and, a granddaughter, Lisa Gill of Fort Lauderdale.

Henry T. Coleman

CHIEFLAND - Henry T. Coleman of Chiefland died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 83.

Mr. Coleman was born in Charleston, W.Va., and moved to Chiefland from Morriston 11 years ago. He was a chemical operator with DuPont, retiring after 36 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia M. Coleman of Chiefland; two daughters, Carol Alesi of St. Petersburg and Barbara Davis of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Donald Coleman of Knoxville, Tenn., and Charles E. Coleman of Dawson, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
