Kenneth R. Piety Sr.
MCINTOSH - Kenneth R. Piety Sr. died Monday at Shands at AGH.
He was 77.
A native of South Bend, Ind., Mr. Piety moved to McIntosh from Orlando seven years ago.
He was a clinical psychologist and a member of University City Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Piety of McIntosh; daughters Joy Puckett of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Sharon Piety Nowell of Palm Coast and Tia Piety of Orlando; sons Richard and Kenneth Piety Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn., Christopher Piety of Murfreeboro and Michael Piety of Gainesville; a brother, Buel Piety of Sebring; a sister, Ruth Piety Hazelwood of Perry; 38 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cheryl D. Galuza
Cheryl D. Galuza of Brunswick, Maine, died Tuesday in Maine. She was 54.
The Gainesville native was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include her husband, Bradley Galuza; daughters Lynda Hartenstine of Jacksonville and Anna Sweeney-Arsenault of Bath, Maine; sons Robert Sweeney of West Bath, Maine, and Mathew Sweeney of Portsmouth, Va.; sisters Bonnie Hammel, Sheila Sisk and Branda Edmonds, all of Gainesville, and Carmen Bengyel of Jacksonville; a brother, David Bochette of Gainesville; and nine grandchildren.

Alice Sparkman
MACCLENNY - Alice "Louise" Sparkman died Monday at Shands at AGH. She was 69.
Mrs. Sparkman was born in Williston and moved to Macclenny 20 years ago.
She was a homemaker and a food service employee with the Baker County school system. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and fishing.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, James W. "Dub" Sparkman of Trenton; a daughter, Karen Smith of Trenton; a son, Larry Sparkman of Land O' Lakes; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Robert Bedell
Robert Bedell died July 22 in his home in Hopkinsville, Ky. He was 46.
Mr. Bedell was born in Long Island, N.Y., and lived in Gainesville from 1972 to 1985. He graduated from Gainesville High School.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Goode Bedell of Hopkinsville; a daughter, Melissa Bedell; a son, Robert Bedell; his parents, Marilyn and Bob Bedell of Gainesville; a sister, Karen Bootle of Gainesville; and a brother, Fred Bedell of Lake City.

PORT RICHEY - Ethel Rose Calhoun, formerly of Cross City, died Thursday in Hudson. She was 40.
She was preceded in death by a son, Waylon Calhoun.
Survivors include her father, Carl Malson of Bethany, Mo.; sons Travis Calhoun of Old Town and Mitch Calhoun of Linton, N.D.; daughters Sara and Selina Elliott, both of Port Richey; brothers Roy Mussett of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Robert Mussett of Tampa; and sisters Angela Mussett of Tampa, Anna Hansen of Newton, Iowa, Roberta Albertson of What Cheer, Iowa, and Melva Conrad of Port Orchard, Wash.

Robert Irvin Hannah Sr.
LAWTEY - Robert Irvin Hannah Sr. died Thursday at Hospice House in Gainesville. He was 70.
Mr. Hannah was born in Jacksonville and moved to Lawtey in 1974. He was a retired truck driver, and he owned and operated Triple H Farms.
He was a member of Whitehouse Baptist Church in Jacksonville and Clay Gullie Hunting Club, and he attended Madison Street Baptist Church in Starke.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Morgan Hannah of Lawtey; sons Robert I. Hannah Jr. and Terry G. Hannah, both of Starke; sisters Esther Hannah Ojeda, Glenda Hannah Jowers and Rhonda Hannah Lowe, all of Jacksonville; brothers Sam Jr., Edwin L., Earl, Mark and Michael Hannah, all of Jacksonville; and five grandchildren.

LAKELAND - Dorothy L. Lopez died Wednesday in Lakeland. She was 82.
She was born in Bell and moved to Lakeland from Archer a year ago. She was a housewife and a member of Newberry Church of God.
Survivors include sons Irvin Fillman of Auburndale and Neal Combee of Greenville, Tenn.; daughters Martha Cheshire of Lake City, Ruby Ware of Oceanside, Calif., and Candie Newmen of Lakeland; brothers O.C. Bass of Gainesville and Willie Bass of Newberry; a sister, Leona Durden of Archer; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

CHIEFLAND - Ruby Mae Simms died Wednesday at Palm Garden in Gainesville.
She was born in Alachua and moved to Chiefland from Gainesville in 1972.
She was a retired clerk with W.T. Grant Co.
She was a member of North Chiefland Church of God.
She is survived by four nieces, Ruth Hogan of Micanopy, Martha Hastings of Birmingham, Ala., Emily Smith of Jacksonville and Dot Markham of Bradenton.

Linnie Williams Tucker
LAKE BUTLER - Linnie Williams Tucker died Friday in the Health Center of Lake City after an extended illness. She was 92.
Mrs. Tucker lived in Union County her entire life and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lake Butler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Tucker.
Survivors include a daughter, JoAnne Perry of Lake City; sons Rodney Tucker Quitman of Texas and Robert Tucker of Lake Butler; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Susan Chancey Wheeler
CROSS CITY - Susan Chancey Wheeler died Friday at her home. She was 57.
She moved to Cross City in 1964 from Troy, Ala., after graduating from Troy State University.
She was a teacher in the Dixie County school system for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cross City and the Cross City Council.
Survivors include her mother, Maurine Chancey of Cottonton, Ala.; sons Lt. Cmdr. Trey Wheeler of Green Cove Springs and Phillip Wheeler of Cross City; a daughter, Lauri Wheeler of Jacksonville; brothers Richard Chancey of Smith's Station, Ala., and David Chancey of Columbus, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

TRENTON -- Lydia T. Barber died Thursday. She was 35.
Mrs. Barber was born in Vero Beach and moved to Trenton from Ocala six years ago.
She was a closing agent with an abstract company.

OLD TOWN -- David William Barclay died Thursday in Old Town. He was 52.
Mr. Barclay was a painter and a member of the Moose Lodge.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool.
