John C. Brinegar
John C. Brinegar of Gainesville died Wednesday at Shands at AGH. He was 81.
Mr. Brinegar was born in Winston-Salem, N.C., and moved to Gainesville from Miami 29 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was an entrepreneur in the auto and trucking industry.
He was a Presbyterian.
Survivors include two sons, Jay Brinegar of Cleveland and David Brinegar of Denver; a brother, Robert Brinegar of Fort Lauderdale; and his caregiver, Helen Wright of Alachua.
Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the American Cancer Society.
Glen Marvin Brown
TRENTON -- Glen Marvin Brown of Trenton died Friday in Old Town. He was 66.
Mr. Brown was a grower in the agricultural division of the U.S. Forestry Division.
Born in Levy County, he was a lifelong resident of the area.
He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Harvey Brown of Chiefland; a daughter, Judy Hite of Old Town; two brothers, Cecil Brown of High Springs and Claude Brown of Indiana; four sisters, Arlene Poole and Alice Mae Hair, both of Chiefland, Linda Sheffield of Gainesville and Sharron Rogers of Trenton; and three grandchildren.
Paul Pomeroy Collins
HAWTHORNE -- Paul Pomeroy Collins of Hawthorne died Saturday at Palm Garden of Gainesville. He was 90.
Mr. Collins was a home builder. After retirement, he delivered the Florida Times-Union newspaper.
Born in Branford, Conn., he moved from Branford to Hawthorne 40 years ago. He attended the University of Florida. He was a Methodist.
Mr. Collins collected antiques and was a member of the Antique Clock and Watch Collectors.
Survivors include his wife, Virgie Lee Beckham Collins of Hawthorne; four sons, Charles P. Collins and Sam Collins, both of Gainesville, Paul Stephen Collins of Ocala and John M. "Jack" Collins of Tallahassee; two daughters, Phoebe Joan Grabel Papadicq of Gainesville and Constance G. Corwin of New Smyrna Beach; a sister, Ann Gorham of Corona, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Anna Cunningham
Anna Cunningham of Gainesville died Tuesday at Shands at AGH after a brief illness. She was 82.
Mrs. Cunningham was born in Campville and moved to Gainesville in the 1940s.
She was a retired employee of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity in Gainesville.
She was a member of Zion Temple AMEZcq Church, where she served as church mother, stewardess and choir member.
Survivors include four sisters, Eula Mae Jenkins, Ida King, Susie Cunningham and Verronicecq Cunningham Buggs, all of Gainesville; and two brothers, the Rev. W.F. Cunningham of Gainesville and Ulysses Cunningham of Sanford.
Grace Moore Dobbs
FERNANDINA BEACH -- Grace Moore Dobbs of Fernandina Beach died Saturday at Baptist Medical Center- Nassau in Fernandina Beach after a long illness. She was 79.
Mrs. Dobbs was a retired secretary. She was born in Raiford and lived most of her life in Jacksonville before moving to Fernandina Beach 10 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burneycq Dobbs.
Survivors include a daughter; three sisters, including Doris R. Wellington of Lake Butler; a brother; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Robert Sidney Ealum
OLD TOWN -- Robert Sidney Ealum of Old Town died Wednesday at North Florida Reception Center Hospital after a long illness. He was 46.
Mr. Ealum was born in Bartow and moved to Old Town from Tampa 18 years ago.
He was in the auto salvage business. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Ealum was preceded in death by a son, Claude S. Ealum.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie Ealum of Old Town; two sons, Bobby Ealum and Geremeycq Ealum, both of Old Town; his mother, Mary Watson of Fanning Springs; his stepmother, Betty Ealum of Old Town; three brothers, Johnny Ealum, Michael Ealum and Edward Ealum, all of Old Town; three sisters, Carolyn Hatch of Old Town, Dorothy Skidmore of Fanning Springs and Cecelia Summers of Ocala; and three grandchildren.
Jay B. Edwards Sr.
STARKE -- Jay B. Edwards Sr. of Starke died Friday at his home after a long illness. He was 49.
Mr. Edwards retired from Union Correctional Institution as an assistant warden.
He was born in Jacksonville and moved to Starke 20 years ago.
Mr. Edwards was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Starke.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Edwards of Starke; a daughter, Jennifer Edwards of Starke; a son, Jay Byron Edwards of Starke; his mother, Joyce Barber of Starke; and a sister, Kathy Hillier of Jacksonville.
Cora Turnipseed Franklin
Cora Turnipseed Franklin of Gainesville died Nov. 29 at Shands at AGH after a brief illness. She was 35.
Mrs. Franklin was a professional seamstress.
Born in Putnam Hall, she moved from New York City to Gainesville 20 years ago.
She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and of Bethune-Cookman College.
Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Powerful Elders Organization and Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Chancel Choir, the L.C. Gamble Walkers Sunday School class, the Senior Citizen Ministry, and she was chaplain of the Senior Mission Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Franklin.
Survivors include a son, Dennis J. Franklin of Gainesville; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
David Maurice Jones
ATLANTA -- David Maurice Jones of Atlanta died Wednesday at Crestview Memorial Hospice Center in Atlanta after a long illness. He was 43.
Mr. Jones was born and raised in Gainesville and moved to Atlanta 20 years ago.
He was a laborer. He attended Lincoln High School.
Mr. Jones was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Barner Jones.
Survivors include his caregiver, Barbara Fullard of Atlanta; three daughters, Takara N. Jones, Catoya Jones and Corriqua Jones, all of Atlanta; two sons, David M. Jones Jr. and Elavious Jones, both of Atlanta; his mother, Willie Mae Thomas of Gainesville; three sisters, Sadie DeBose Russell of Gainesville, Carolyn J. Williams of Valdosta, Ga., and Willie M. Wilson of Alachua; and a brother, Wilbert Jones Jr. of Gainesville.
Henry Edward Lane
INTERLACHEN -- Henry Edward Lane of Interlachen died Thursday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville after a short illness. He was 81.
Mr. Lane was retired from the National Lead Co. in Sayreville, N.J. He later was a school bus driver in Pennsylvania.
Born in Noxen, Pa., he moved from Noxen to Interlachen 10 years ago.
He was an usher at Faith Baptist Church in Interlachen.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Emily Lane of Interlachen; a son, Laurence Lane of Interlachen; a sister, Laura Jones of Noxen; a brother, Thomas Lane of Noxen; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Donald R. MacRae
ALACHUA -- Donald R. MacRae of Alachua died Saturday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 93.
Mr. MacRae was a retired engineer with the Ford Motor Co. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.
Born in Bridgewater, Mass., he moved from Garden City, Mich., to Alachua 21 years ago.
He was a member of the OX5 Aviation Pioneers.
Mr. MacRae was a Protestant.
Survivors include a son, Donald R. MacRae Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Diane M. Scott of Manlius, N.Y.; two sisters, Allison G. Case of Bridgewater and Rosamond Cochrane of Billings, Mont.; a brother, Douglas MacRae of Billings; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
