U.S., Social Security Death Index, 1935-2014Mr. John Joseph Malloy, of Ft. Myers passed away at home on August 28, 2004. He was born on July 24, 1921, Meshoppen, PA to Ella Sheridan and Francis Malloy. After graduation from high school, he moved to Delanco, NJ.
Mr. Malloy served with the 102nd Infantry Division in the European Theater of Operations from 1942 to 1946. He attended Purdue University under the Army Special Training Program. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree from Villanova University in 1950.
Mr. Malloy became a logistics expert in warehousing and international distribution and eventually became founder and president of Malloy Warehouse and Distribution, Inc., which served the eastern seaboard.
In the late 1960's Mr. Malloy turned his attention to real estate investment and banking in Lee County.
John Malloy will be lovingly remembered as a gentleman and a generous man of integrity. John was happiest when involved in a great conversation or a good book. His passion for story telling, his quick Irish wit and beautiful tenor voice were gifts to all.
Mr. Malloy will be missed by his wife of 58 years Cecelia Baiada Malloy; his five daughters, Lynne (Gary) VAnSciver of Ft. Myers, Taire Malloy of Ft. Myers, Donna Malloy of Clearwater Beach, Patrice Malloy (Mark Journey) of Ft. Lauderdale, Maureen (Stevan) Allen of Sacramento, CA; son, Robert (Esther) Malloy of Mt. Laurel, NJ; his fourteen grandchildren: Gary, Mark, Cavan, Alexis, David, John, Russ, Matthew, Jenna, Fernando, Christina, Elena, Luke, Miles and his five great-grandchildren: Kyle, Carly, Mark, Kevin and Kelly; his nephews, William Peterson and John Peterson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Church of the Resurrection. Visitation will be held at Ft. Myers Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 936-0555.
Betty Ann McDaniel, 58, passed into peace Saturday August 28, 2004. She is survived by her husband, sister Mary, best friend Rosa, her mother, eight children, twenty-four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and other family.
Betty enjoyed a life filled with various hobbies including beachcombing, bingo, casinos and helping raise her grandkids. Having a magnetic personality and huge heart, she will be missed by all.
Funeral arrangements have been made with Gallagher's Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, August 31, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bread of Life Ministries on McGregor Blvd.
Jean W. Petrie, 96, born in Glasgow, Scotland, Sept. 1, 1907, Immigrated to Detroit, MI in 1929, moved to Ft. Myers in 2002 resided in Calusa Harbor Assisted Living and Nursing Home, passed away quietly in Ft. Myers HealthPark Care Center August 27, 2004. Mother of George Petrie, Jean Purins (Eglis) Nancy Petrie (R. Carlson) and Mary Seppala (John), grandmother of seven, great-grandma of 11.
She will be missed by all who knew her. A lovely Scottish Lassie, who was dearly loved. Cremation by National Cremation Society. Memorial service to be held in Michigan at a later date.
Jeaunette Silver was born on May 8, 1918 and died Saturday, August 28, 2004. She left behind so many dear friends. She is the beloved mother of sons, Kenneth and Dr. Robert Silver, the cherished mother-in-law to Lise and Deborah, and devoted grandmother to David, Josianne, Pierre and Rachel. Preceding her death in 1994 was the lover of her life, Harry.
Formerly from Cleveland, Ohio, Jeaunette and Harry moved to Naples, Florida in 1973. Jeaunette worked hard all her life as a Homemaker. Praised for her cooking skills, she was a remarkable, baleboosteh and yenta as well. She died as she lived, true to her beliefs, honest and forthright. Even into the last years of her life, Jeannette demonstrated her compassion and caring for others in her volunteer work. Jeaunette's generosity was expressed in her final wish that in lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Humane Society or Hospice of Naples (1095 Whippoorwill, Naples, FL 34105).
A celebration of Jeaunette's life will be held on Tuesday, August 31, at 2:00 PM at Naples Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Peace, located at 586 111th Ave., North, Naples.
B. June Stark, a long time resident of Six Lakes Golf & Country Club in N. Ft. Myers, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2004. A member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Ft. Myers. Mrs. Stark moved to the Ft. Myers area from Midland, Michigan in 1984 with her husband, James Stark, who passed away in 1994. After 30 years as a teacher in the Midland Public School System, Mrs. STark enjoyed and participated in many of the activities and clubs available at Six Lakes.
She is survived by her son, James N. Stark, Jr. and wife Joan of Valrico, FL; two brothers, R. Gus Bublitz of Bonita Springs, FL and John H. Bublitz of Apollo Beach, FL; her sister Frances Kraenzlein of Bay City, MI; sister-in-law, Jane Knechtel of Leesburg, FL; eight grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. Arrangements are pending for a memorial service to be held at Six Lakes this fall.
Mary Ann Underwood, 90, of Ft. Myers, FL formerly of Sommerset, died Thursday, August 26, 2004 at Shell Point Village in Ft. Myers. Mary Ann was born January 19, 1914 in Somerset, OH the daughter of the late David and Sophia Meloy Ream. She graduated from Somerset High School in 1931, and attended Ohio University where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She had been a teacher at Somerset School. She was a member of the Somerset Mothers' Study Club; a long time member of Somerset United Methodist Church and also attended the Cypress Lake United Methodist Church in Ft. Myers, FL.
Surviving are three sons; David Underwood of Somerset, James (Andree) Underwood of Oberlin and Alan Underwood of Tucson, AZ; a daughter; Lynne (James) Browne of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren, Charles R. Underwood, Mary Kay Dupler, Denis Underwood, Margaret and Ross Browne, Amber Kling, Ben Underwood, Tiffany Underwood and Jesse Underwood; ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ross S. Underwood (1999); two sisters, Margaret and Harriet; and two brothers, Thomas and John.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Somerset United Methodist Church Flower Fund or to the Cypress Lake United Methodist Church Flower Fund, Ft. Myers, FL 33919. Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset is in charge of arrangements.
Frederick G. 'Fred' Wright, 83, of Ft. Myers died August 28, 2004, he was born in Couchville, PA, a son of the late Frederick G. and Anna Wright, he was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in WW II in the submarine service. Fred wintered in the area in the 1960's and moved here as a full time resident in the 1970's from Elkhart, IN, he was the founder of Wright Construction Company and built many commercial buildings in the area including schools, hospitals, Targets and Shell Point Retirement Community, he retired in 1998. Fred was an avid fisherman and enjoyed golfing, he belonged to Elcona Country Club in Elkhart, IN, the Forest, Lexington, Shadow Wood Preserve Country Clubs of Ft. Myers area. Fred was a very giving and compassionate person who would give you his shirt off his back and then tell you when, where and what time to wear it.
Mr. Wright is survived by his son and daughter in law Fred III and Carol Wright of In., his grandson Fred IV, his great-great-granddaughter Kayla and best friend Aura Kathy, he was predeceased by his wife Maxine in 1994.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be conducted in the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2 PM., the family will receive friends in the funeral home from 1-2 PM.
In his memory memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice of Lee County.
Entombment will be in Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Martha Eileen Zeiher, 80, of N. Ft. Myers passed away Friday August 27, 2004. A memorial service will honor her life on Wednesday Sept. 1, 2004 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of the N. Ft. Myers Memorial Funeral Home, 3453 Hancock Bridge Pkwy., 995-1113. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
Henry Zemel, 82, of Ft. Myers, Fl. died August,30,2004. He was born Sept. 16, 1921 in Manhattan, NY.
He is survived by his wife Selma A. Zemel of Ft. Myers, son Leonard R. Zemel of Denver, CO, daughter Francine A. Payson of Ft. Myers, grandchildren Matthew, Aaron, Michael, & Jordan.
Henry was a U. S. Army Veteran of WW II. He was a member of the Lexington War Veterans Association, Temple-Beth-El of Ft. Myers, and was a volunteer at Health Park Hospital.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Thursday September 2, 2004 at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Rabbi Bruce Diamond Officiating. Entombment will follow in Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence; 16352 Willowcrest Way, Ft. Myers, from 2 to 4 on Thursday. Shiva Service at 6 PM.

Clarence R. Austerman, 88, of Cape Coral, died Monday, September 13, 2004. A retired interior decorator formerly of Sidney, OH, he resised here for the past thirty-two years and was a member of First Assembly of God Church of Ft. Myers.
Mr. Austerman is survived by his wife of forty-three years Jean Austerman, three sons Dennis Austerman of Cape Coral, Donald Austerman of Cape Coral, Dale (Michelle) Austerman of Pittsburg, Kansas, two daughters Denise (Randy) Poffenbarger of Ocala, FL, Debra Austerman of N. Ft. Myers, sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday, September 17, 2004 at 11:30 AM at Coral Ridge Funeral Home with interment to follow in Coral Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call TODAY 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Irene Marie Carver of Estero, FL, passed away Sept. 16, 2004. She was born Jan. 22, 1936 in Winterset, IA. She was preceded by her parents John & Roxie Clarkson, brothers; Jack & Robert Clarkson, sisters; Dottie McDonald, Nayda Johnson and Barbara Scholl.
She is survived by her beloved husband, John R. Carver, three daughters, Cynthia (Klint) Pedersen, Shelli (Robert) Kelly and Tracy Pfrimmer all of Ft. Lauderdale area; step-children; Lynn Carver, Douglas (Robin) Carver of MA; her grandchildren; Kyle & Erik Pedersen, Bryan and Katy Kelly, step-children; Pamela and Randy Welch, Austin & Benjamin Carver; brothers & sisters; Harold Clarkson, Philip Clarkson & Darlene Eklov all of IA; her nephew Jack E. (Judy) Clarkson of AZ.
She is a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was involved in Real Estate development and sales for over 40 years.
Memorial service is to be held 1:00 PM Saturday at Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Ft. Myers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Hospice.
