Johnny Paul Cribbs

ALACHUA - Johnny Paul Cribbs of Alachua died Tuesday at his home after a long illness. He was 51.

Mr. Cribbs was a construction worker.

Born in High Springs, he was a lifelong resident of Alachua County.

Mr. Cribbs was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Jaueline Cribbs of Alachua; a son, George Victor Cribbs of Newberry; a daughter, Tina Marie Leslein of South Carolina; a brother, Danny Hanna of Hawthorne; a half-brother, Harvey Lee Cribbs of New Port Richey; four sisters, June Rhoden of Alachua, Lottie Newman of Newberry, Joann Meeks of Oneco and Jane Smith of Bell; 26 grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.

Carlile Daniel Hager

MELROSE - Carlile Daniel Hager of Melrose died Tuesday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 77.

Mr. Hager was a machinist. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Born in Bluefield, W.Va., he moved from Princeton, W.Va., to Melrose 30 years ago.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Remrey of Fulton, Ill., and Diann Shrewsbury of Ebson Road, W.Va.; five sons, Ray Hager and Doug Hager, both of Melrose, Roy Hager of Frankfort, Ky., Eddie Hager of Fulton and Michael Hager of Gilson, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Harvey A. Kelley Sr.

MADISON - Harvey A. Kelley Sr. of Madison died Wednesday at Lake Park of Madison. He was 89.

Mr. Kelley owned and operated the Magnesia Springs Water Co. and the Magnesia Springs Swimming Resort. He later was a salesman for Poole-Gable Motors.

Born in Gainesville, he moved from Hawthorne to Madison 13 years ago. He graduated from Gainesville High School.

Mr. Kelley was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a son; a daughter; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to First United Methodist Church of Madison.

Doll Lee-Gordon

Doll Lee-Gordon of Gainesville died April 21 at her sister's home in Gainesville after a long illness.

Mrs. Lee-Gordon was a retired housekeeping employee at Shands at AGH.

Born in Sunflower County, Miss., she moved from Mississippi to Gainesville 30 years ago.

Survivors include her husband, Bennie Gordon of Gainesville; three sons, Milton Lee of Ocala, Clifford Lee of San Diego and Carlos Gordon of Gainesville; three daughters, Mary Ann Jones, Doris Ann Douglas and Gail Y. Gordon, all of Gainesville; three sisters, Mary Alice Graham of Drew, Miss., Agnes Newman and Irene Neal, both of Gainesville; three brothers, Wallace Lee Jr. and Willie B. Lee, both of Gainesville, and Clifford Lee of Miami; and 19 grandchildren.

Charlie Miller Sr.

WILLISTON - Charlie Miller Sr. of Williston died unexpectedly Friday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 77.

Mr. Miller was a retired attendant at Pine Rush Farms in Ocala. He was also a demolition expert in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Born in Madison, he lived most of his life in Williston.

He was a member of Greater Rockhill Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a deacon and was a Sunday school superintendent, and member of the trustees and deacon boards.

He was also a volunteer of the tri-county senior citizen program and president of Sunlight Pallbearers Lodge No. 67.

Mr. Miller enjoyed reading the Bible.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Pearlie Mae Miller.

Survivors include five sons, Charlie Miller Jr., Bennett Miller and Clifford Lewis Miller, all of Gainesville, Robert Scottie Miller of Williston and Rex Anthony Miller of Archer; five daughters, Mattie Crawford of Archer, Verdell Finley of Jacksonville, Charlie Mae Miller of Williston and Carolyn George and Marcil Campbell, both of Gainesville; two sisters, Elizabeth Bruce of St. Petersburg and Ruby Lee Taylor of Detroit; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Theresa Frances O'Hanlon

Theresa Frances O'Hanlon of Gainesville died Monday in Gainesville. She was 79.

Mrs. O'Hanlon was a retired nurse. She also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Born in New York City, she moved from New Port Richey to Gainesville 10 years ago.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Third Order of St. Frances.

Mrs. O'Hanlon was preceded in death by a son, Redmon O'Hanlon.

Survivors include a daughter, Loretta O'Hanlon of Franklin, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

Anna Deane Phillips

OCALA - Anna Deane Phillips of Ocala died Tuesday at Ocala Regional Medical Center after a long illness. She was 78.

Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and a member of the Ocala Central Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Born in California, Pa., she moved from Evinston to Ocala 11 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Phillips.

Survivors include a son; two daughters, including Deborah Ann Hulfish of Evinston; two sisters; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Joseph E. Tedder

LAKE CITY - Joseph E. Tedder of Lake City died Tuesday at Shands at Lake Shore after a long illness.

He was 90.

Mr. Tedder was a refrigeration mechanic.

Born in Blakely, Ga., he moved from Jacksonville to Lake City 15 years ago.

He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Tedder of Lake City; a son, Ricky Tedder of Lake City; two brothers, Harry Tedder of Jacksonville and Lamar Tedder of Albany, Ga.; two sisters, Gladys Scarborough and Mary Bell Williams, both of Blakely; and two grandchildren.

Helen Hobbs Wallace

Helen Hobbs Wallace of Palm Harbor died Tuesday at Palm Harbor.

She was 82.

Mrs. Wallace was a former music teacher in Alachua County.

Born in Alachua, she lived in Gainesville for 60 years before moving to Palm Harbor three years ago. She graduated from Shorter College in Rome, Ga., and the University of Florida.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville and was past president of the Junior Welfare League of Gainesville and of the University Woman's Club.

Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, H.K. Wallace.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Wallace Bonner of Clearwater; a son, Howard K. Wallace Jr. of Gainesville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Vera Fowler Anderson

HIGH SPRINGS -- Vera Fowler Anderson of High Springs died Thursday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was 80.

Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker.

She was born in Blackshear, Ga., and moved to High Springs 56 years ago.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the High Springs Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sons, Tommy E. Fowler of Jacksonville, Charles A. Fowler of Memphis, Tenn., and Jimmy R. Fowler of Newberry; two daughters, Virginia R. Barr of Craig, Colo., and Florence E. Lamb of High Springs; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren.
