Sandra Jo Patrick

Sandra Jo Patrick of Gainesville died Wednesday at her home after a long illness. She was 52.

Mrs. Patrick was a homemaker.

She was born in Evansville, Ind., and moved to Gainesville about six years ago.

Mrs. Patrick was a Gator football fan.

Survivors include two daughters, Tresa Douglass of Gainesville and Kelly Flores of San Jose, Calif.; a son, Andrew Patrick of Gainesville; her mother, Lillian Watkins of West Covina, Calif.; a sister, Linda Cooper of Gainesville; a brother, David Hart of Evansville; and eight grandchildren.

Dorothy E. Dorman

Dorothy E. Dorman of Gainesville died Thursday at Hospice House in Gainesville after a long illness. She was 87.

Mrs. Dorman was a homemaker.

She was born in Bethany, N.Y., and moved from Elba, N.Y., to Gainesville two years ago.

Mrs. Dorman enjoyed playing piano.

She was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence K. Dorman.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Kenneth H. Dorman of Gainesville; three daughters, Phyllis E. Dorman of Gainesville, Audrey M. Keif of San Antonio, Texas, and Brenda J. Fedrigon of Cleveland; a twin sister, Louella Warren of Lakeland; a brother, Merrill Wood of Mount Plymouth; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Hospice of North Central Florida or to the Presbyterian Church in Elba.

William Frazer Holbrook

NEWBERRY - William Frazer Holbrook of Newberry died Saturday at the Hospice House of Gainesville after a brief illness. He was 88.

Mr. Holbrook was born in Palmyra, N.J., and moved to Newberry in 1989.

He was a lieutenant commander during World War II, serving in the office of assistant secretary of the Navy in the Materials Division Procurement Office.

He was a retired manager for McGraw Hill Publications.

Mr. Holbrook graduated from the George School in Newton, Pa. He received a bachelor of science degree in economics in 1934 from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi.

He was a former member of Presbyterian Church of Park Ridge, Ill., the University Club of Milwaukee and the Chenequa Country Club in Hartland, Wis.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Holbrook of Newberry; three sons, Frazer Holbrook and David Holbrook, both of Newport Beach, Calif., and Charles Holbrook of Oconomowoc, Wis.; and three grandchildren;

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Hospice House of North Central Florida.

Kathy Denise Madore

Kathy Denise Madore of Gainesville died Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 43.

Mrs. Madore was born in Altoona, Pa., and moved to Gainesville from Sanford in 1980.

She was the head registered nurse in the Women's Central Recovery Room at North Florida Regional Medical Center.

She was a graduate of Valencia Community College.

Survivors include her husband, Roger J. Madore of Gainesville; a daughter, Emilie M. Madore of Gainesville; a son, Stephen Madore of Gainesville; her mother, Dorothy Hart of Sanford; her father and stepmother, James Allen Hart and Barbara Hart of Altamonte Springs; and a brother, Jeff A. Hart of Geneva.

Janet Spiers Potts

Janet Spiers Potts of Gainesville died Saturday after an extended illness. She was 84.

Mrs. Potts was born in Tuxedo, N.Y., and moved to Gainesville from West Palm Beach in 1978.

She was a retired telephone operator for Southern Bell.

Survivors include three sisters, Joan Smith of Gainesville, Helen Horne of West Palm Beach and Grace Griffin of Wiersdale; and a brother, Carlton Spiers of Port St. Johns.

Kevin Morrison Thomas

Kevin Morrison Thomas of Gainesville died Sunday.

He was 29.

Mr. Thomas was born in Jacksonville and moved to Gainesville from Keystone Heights.

He was a computer engineer for Microsoft.

Survivors include his wife, Shekouh Thomas of Gainesville; a son, Kian Thomas of Gainesville; his parents, Charles M. Thomas and Andrea L. Thomas of Keystone Heights, a sister, Milinda McGuire of Jacksonville; and his grandfather, Arthur N. Torley of Fernandina Beach.

Nathan Ray Fletcher

Nathan Ray Fletcher of Gainesville died Sunday. He was 73.

Mr. Fletcher was born in Lakeland and moved to Gainesville from Cross City in 1955. He was a crane operator and served in the Navy in World War II. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include one son, Walter M. "Walt" Fletcher, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Cora Turnipseed Franklin

Cora Turnipseed Franklin of Gainesville died Nov. 29 at Shands at AGH after a brief illness. She was 85.

Mrs. Franklin was a professional seamstress.

Born in Putnam Hall, she moved from New York City to Gainesville 20 years ago.

She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and of Bethune-Cookman College.

Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Powerful Elders Organization and Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Chancel Choir, the L.C. Gamble Walkers Sunday School class, the Senior Citizen Ministry, and was chaplain of the Senior Mission Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Franklin.

Survivors include a son, Dennis J. Franklin of Gainesville; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Nellie Thompson Lindbloom

Nellie Thompson Lindbloom of Gainesville died Sunday in Starke. She was 91.

Mrs. Lindbloom was born in Rockville, Mo., and moved to Gainesville in 1964 from Chicago, Ill. She was a phone assemblery person for Western Electric. She attended First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Della Lubbers of Monticello, Ill., Nova Pitford of Bloomingdale, Ind., and Alice Richardson of Jacksonville Beach; and three brothers, Delmar Thompson of Palmara, Mo., Bill Thompson of Aurora, Colo., and Bob Thompson of Newcastle, Ind.

Mazdak Noorbakhsh

Mazdak Noorbakhsh of Gainesville died Friday. He was 17.

Mr. Noorbakhsh was born in Iran and moved to Gainesville in 1989. He was a student at Buchholz High School and was a Moslem.

Survivors include his parents, Seied Ahmad Noorbakhsh and Shreen Haganifar Noorbakhsh of Gainesville; and one sister, Gilara Noorbakhsh of Springdale, Ark.

Robert Allen Oliver

STARKE -- Robert Allen Oliver of Starke died Saturday in his home following an extended illness. He was 78.

Mr. Oliver was born in Jacksonville and moved to Starke from Cocoa in 1978. He was a retired vice president of Barnett Bank in Cocoa and served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Starke.

Survivors include three sons, Robert A. "Bob" Oliver of Franklin, N.C., William "Bill" Oliver of Gainesville and Ralph "Danny" Oliver of Cocoa; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
