Ronald C. Huffman Sr.

OCALA -- Ronald C. Huffman Sr. of Ocala died Sunday at his home. He was 60.

Mr. Huffman was a sales representative for Continental Pools. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was born in Atlanta and moved from Atlanta to Ocala 47 years ago.

Mr. Huffman was a member of Gators Touchdown Club, Marion County Home Builders Association and the Eagles.

He was a golfer and a University of Florida football fan.

Survivors include his mother; two daughters; a son; a sister; a brother; and seven grandchildren.

Jeanette Annamae Kessinger

Jeanette Annamae Kessinger of Gainesville died Sunday at Hospice of North Central Florida in Gainesville. She was 83.

Mrs. Kessinger was a homemaker.

She was born in Cambridge, Ohio, and moved from Pensacola to Gainesville 44 years ago.

Mrs. Kessinger was preceded in death by two husbands, Ray Pettiford, and Walter Kessinger.

She was a Catholic.

Survivors include two nieces; and two nephews, including Benjamin Bell of Morriston.

Elva Jane McRae

STARKE -- Elva Jane McRae of Starke died Sunday at BrookeWood Care Center in Starke. She was 88.

Mrs. McRae was a homemaker.

She was a lifelong resident of Starke.

Mrs. McRae was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Gwen Thornton of Starke; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Thomas D. Sims

BRANFORD -- Thomas D. Sims of Branford died Sunday at his home after a long illness. He was 77.

Mr. Sims was a laborer in a nursery business.

He was born in Cross City and was a lifelong resident of Branford.

He was a member of Hatchbend Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include two sisters, O'Nell Byrd of Branford and Ellen Smith of Sebring; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Etta Drawdy

O'BRIEN -- Etta Drawdy of O'Brien died Wednesday at her home.

She was 88.

Mrs. Drawdy was a farmer and a homemaker.

She was a lifelong resident of O'Brien.

Mrs. Drawdy was a member of Union Baptist Church and of the Order of the Eastern Star in Branford.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nim Drawdy; and a son, Charles Drawdy.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Howard of O'Brien, Mary Williams of Gainesville and Myrtle Roberts of Bell; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

La Trelle Hamilton

La Trelle Hamilton of Gainesville died Wednesday at her home in an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning that also killed her husband, Thomas Hamilton.

She was 67.

Mrs. Hamilton was a financial advisor in the banking industry.

She was born in Valdosta, Ga., and moved from Brooker to Gainesville 12 years ago.

Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the Gator Booster Organization, the Peace Maker Quilt Club and the University City Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by a son, Zed Hamilton.

Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Cockram of Gainesville; two sons, Blake Hamilton of Brooker and David Hamilton of Lawtey; two sisters, Onita McLeod Shaw of Stockbridge, Ga., and Ernestine McLeod Courtney of Gainesville; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Thomas B. Hamilton

Thomas B. Hamilton of Gainesville died Wednesday at his home in an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning that also killed his wife, La Trelle Hamilton.

He was 67.

Mr. Hamilton was a retired cattle farmer and was employed at Suburban Cleaners.

He was born in Palmetto and moved to Gainesville 12 years ago. He graduated from Bradford County High School.

Mr. Hamilton was the president of the Fightin' Gator Touchdown Club and was past president of the Bradford-Union Cattlemen Association. He was a member of the Gator Booster Organization and of the New River Baptist Church. He attended Lake Butler Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by a son, Zed Hamilton.

Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Cockram of Gainesville; two sons, Blake Hamilton of Brooker and David Hamilton of Lawtey; his mother, Elma Hamilton of Brooker; a brother, James Hamilton of Brooker; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Helen Welliver Hayhurst

CLEARWATER - Helen Welliver Hayhurst of Clearwater died Aug. 26 in Clearwater. She was 93.

Mrs. Hayhurst formerly taught school in Pennsylvania and in the Department of Defense Dependent Schools. She was a private tutor and later taught for Job Corps in Gainesville.

She was born in Bloomsburg, Pa., and moved from Gainesville to Clearwater three years ago. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the Bloomsburg State Teachers College.

Mrs. Hayhurst was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gainesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Hayhurst.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann Spaidcq of Largo and Kay Gipple of Bloomsburg; three sisters, Sara Edwards of St. Petersburg, Pauline Beishline and Gladys Case, both of Bloomsburg; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Westminster Presbyterian Church or to their day school in Gainesville.

Arthur Franklin Perry III

EARLETON -- Arthur Franklin Perry III of Earleton died Wednesday at his home. He was 62.

Mr. Perry was a retired economist for the Governor's Office and the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. He also was a captain in the U.S. Army and had served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He was born in Jacksonville and moved from Jacksonville to Earleton one year ago. He graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va., and received a master's degree in economics from the University of Florida.

Mr. Perry was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Hawthorne and was a president of Kappa Sigma fraternity.

Survivors include a son, Arthur Franklin Perry IV of Tallahassee.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Catholic Charities Bureau in Gainesville or to the American Cancer Society.
