Carol Vivian McGinley
OLD TOWN -- Carol Vivian McGinley of Old Town died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center after a long illness. She was 58.
Mrs. McGinley, a file supervisor, was born in Atlanta and moved to Old Town from Orlando about eight years ago. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer C. McGinley of Old Town; three daughters, Karen Arleen Hamm of Bradenton, Kim Andrea Cornell of Syracuse, N.Y., and Kathy Annette McGinley of Pensacola; a son, Keith Alan McGinley of Virginia Beach, Va.; and five grandchildren.
Wesley Dean Gregory Ormsbee
HIGH SPRINGS -- Wesley Dean Gregory Ormsbee of High Springs died Sunday as a result of an accident. He was 19.
Born in Springfield, Mass., Mr. Ormsbee lived in High Springs for 10 years.
He installed mobile homes for a living and attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. He had attended Spring Hill Middle School and Bell High School.
Survivors include his mother, Penny Cierpial of High Springs; grandparents John and Helen Nagy of Gainesville; two brothers, Michael Cierpial of Edinson, N.C., and Matthew Cierpial of High Springs; and four sisters, Corina Ormsbee of Holyoke, Mass., and Angel McCall, Nicole Cierpial and Alli McCoy, all of High Springs.
Floyd R. Carpenter
Floyd R. Carpenter of Gainesville died Sunday at Hospice House after a long illness. He was 85.
Mr. Carpenter was born in Towner, N.D., and came here from Westhope, N.D., in 1961. He was a master mechanic with International Harvester. He attended Gainesville's New Hope Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mildred M. Carpenter of Gainesville; three sons, Ray Carpenter of Stacy, Minn., Larry D. Carpenter and Douglas L. Carpenter, both of Hopkinsville, Ky.; a daughter, Myrna J. Rakstad of Pleasanton, Calif.; a sister, Betty Genre of Towner; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Ingrid Edwards
Ingrid Edwards of Gainesville died on Saturday at Columbia North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 78. She was a loving wife, friend and mother.
During her early working years, she was both an airline hostess and ticket agent for Lufthansa, Air France and Swiss Air. Later in her married
life, she was an antique dealer. Her main interests in her youth were track and field. She was one of Germany's fastest sprinters. She was also an avid golfer. She was a member of the Gainesville Golf and Country Club. She also loved collecting angels.
Ms. Edwards' survivors include her husband, Marc Edwards; her son, Anthony Edwards; her daughter-in-law, Robin Edwards; and her grandson, Patrick Edwards; her best friend, Renate Von Hoesslin-Lovell.

Maxine Dennis Herlong
FORT WHITE - Maxine Dennis Herlong of Fort White died Sunday at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She was 83.
Mrs. Herlong was born in Fort White and was a lifelong resident of Columbia County. She was a member of Fort White United Methodist Church. She worked for 13 years as a cottage supervisor at the former Sunland Training Center, now Tacachale, in Gainesville
Mrs. Herlong was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Herlong.
Survivors include four sons, Dan Herlong, Bob Herlong and Mike Herlong, all of Fort White, and Jerry Herlong of Buena Vista, Ga.; a daughter, Kathie Townsend of Lake City; a brother, Miles Dennis of Bainbridge, Ga.; and a sister, Edwina Kercy of Fort White.
David Frederick Hill
BELL - David Frederick Hill of Bell died Aug. 24 in an automobile accident. He was 60.
Mr. Hill was born in Methuen, Mass., and moved to Bell from Trenton in 1994. He worked for the city of Bell in the maintenance department. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include five brothers, James Hill of Ocala, Albert Hill of Salem, N.H., William Hill of Methuen, Mass., Raymond Hill of Epping, N.H., and Robert Hill of Lawrence, Mass; and two sisters, Lillian Jarosky of Salem, N.H., and Carol Hill of Methuen, Mass.
Mazie L. Imlay
WILLISTON - Mazie L. Imlay of Williston died Friday at home after a long illness. She was 82.
A native of Florence, Ala., Mrs. Imlay moved to Williston 16 years ago from Hollywood, Fla. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Imlay was Protestant.
She wasis preceded in death by her husband, James F. Imlay.
Her survivors include four sons, Charles Colitzas of Hollywood, George Colitzas of Doniphan, Neb., Nicholas Colitzas of Pompano and Andrew Colitzas of Jacksonville; two daughters, Olymphia Henry of Williston and Mary Colitzas of Pompano; five brothers, Luther McCluskey of Orlando, Fred McCluskey and Ben McCluskey, both of Clewiston, Richard McCluskey of Morriston and Tucson McCluskey of Williston; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren.
Eunice Whitehead Kelly
LAWTEY - Eunice Whitehead Kelly of Lawtey died Monday at home. She was 90.
Mrs. Kelly was born in Lawtey and lived there all her life. She was a teacher in the Bradford County school system for 38 years, and owned and operated H.C. Kelly's Grocery in Lawtey for 23 years. She was a graduate of Florida State University and attended Florida State College for Women, the predecessor of FSU. Mrs. Kelly was a member of the Florida Retired Teachers Association, and taught Sunday school at Grace United Methodist Church in Lawtey.
Survivors include a son, Wendell Kelly of Cleveland, Ga.; a nephew, Robert Whitehead of Brooksville; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild.
William L. Larsen
TRENTON - William L. "Sonny" Larsen died Friday at his home. He was 75.
Mr. Larsen was born in Boston and moved to Trenton from Big Pine Key 19 years ago. He was a retired commercial fisherman and sponger who served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Larsen of Trenton; a son, William B.L. Larsen of Trenton; a daughter, Tammy L. Rose of Key West; two brothers, James Robert Larsen of Miami and Richard B. Larsen of Bronson; and a grandson.
Palmer Gerardo Lasala
Palmer Gerardo Lasala of Orlando died Sunday in an automobile accident in Daytona Beach. He was 30.
Mr. Lasala was born in the Philippines and grew up in Gainesville, where he graduated from Buchholz High School in 1987. He moved to Orlando about five years ago and was an assistant manager of a restaurant. He was Catholic.
Survivors include his parents, Maximo and Rosita Lasala of Gainesville; a sister, Maria Lasala of Ocala; and a brother, Alden Lasala of Great Falls, Va.
Sandra Lee McEwen
Sandra Lee McEwen of Gainesville died Aug. 24 at her home after sudden illness. She was 51.
Mrs. McEwen, who was born in Marlinton, W. Va., came here from Colorado nine years ago and worked as a bartender. She was Catholic.
Survivors include her husband, Abe M. "Mac" McEwen of Gainesville; three daughters, Sheila Hammonds of Marlinton, W. Va., Katrina Marie McEwen of Denver and Dianna Pilcher of Gainesville; four sons, Kenneth Willcoxson of Jasper, Kevin Willcoxson of Denver, Jeffrey Willcoxson of Ocala and Lee Hammonds of Marlinton, W. Va.; her mother, Thelma Bussard of Orange Lake; and five grandchildren.
K.C. Paganini
K.C. Paganini of Largo died Saturday while surfing at Matanzas Inlet near St. Augustine Beach. He was 45.
Mr. Paganini was born in St. Petersburg and grew up in Gainesville. He was a self-employed CPA and financial planner, and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Largo.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Paganini of Largo; a son, Nick Paganini and a daughter, Charlotte Paganini, both of Largo; and his parents, Coramae "Sandy" and Louis Paganini of Gainesville.
Mary Strawn
Mary Strawn of Gainesville died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center after a short illness. She was 69.
Mrs. Strawn, a homemaker, was born in Waldo and lived in Gainesville most of her life. She was a member of the Magee Branch Hunt Club in Levy County and attended Windsor Baptist Church.
Mrs. Strawn was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Hales.
Survivors include her husband, William Strawn of Gainesville; her mother, Ethel Gann of Windsor; two daughters, Joyce Bradshaw and Linda Bryan, both of Gainesville; two sons, Buddy Hales and Allen Strawn, both of Gainesville; a brother, James "Junior" Lofton of Windsor; three sisters, Dora Tomlinson of Gainesville, Murrell Drasko of Orange Lake and Dorothy Brown of Windsor; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Kathryn Veronica Bailey Travers
BRONSON - Kathryn Veronica Bailey Travers of Bronson died Sunday at home after an extended illness. She was 82.
Mrs. Travers was a homemaker and a retired bank teller. For many years, she was also an active member of the Cursillo Movement and the Kairos Prison Ministry. She was Catholic.
She was born in Manhattan, N.Y.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick Travers of Bronson and Thomas Travers of Cary, N.C.; a daughter, Katherine Mary Farley-Murphy of Bronson; a sister, Jane Hoffman of Long Island, N.Y.; a brother, Thomas Bailey of New York; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
