Ruth Keene Cannard

ARCHER -- Ruth Keene Cannard of Archer died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was 82.

Mrs. Cannard was a homemaker.

Born in Newberry, she was a lifelong resident of the area.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Cannard Sr.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Cannard of Bronson; a son, William J. Cannard Jr. of Mexico; a brother, William Curtis Keene of Gainesville; a sister, Mary Black of Gainesville; and one grandson.

Pauline Cooper

BELL -- Eva Pauline Cooper of Bell died Tuesday at her home. She was 84.

Mrs. Cooper was a homemaker.

Born in Fairfield, Ill., she moved from Clearwater to Bell 20 years ago.

She was a member of Priscilla Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.

Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband, James Archie Cooper.

Survivors include a son, Fred Cooper of Clearwater; a daughter, Mina Krumsieg of Safety Harbor; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Charles Jacob Foutz Jr.

Charles Jacob Foutz Jr. of Gainesville died Wednesday in Gainesville. He was 81.

Mr. Foutz was a sheet-metal mechanic.

Born in Bonsack, Va., he moved from Vinton, Va., to Gainesville two years ago.

He was a member of National Wildlife and Ducks Unlimited and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Foutz was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Virginia Foutz of Gainesville; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Foutz and Patricia Anne Foutz, both of Gainesville; a sister, Ruth Lee Fitzgerald of Vinton; and two grandchildren.

Reed J. Moberly

Reed J. Moberly of Gainesville died Tuesday in Brevard, N.C., due to heart failure. He was 13.

Reed was an honor roll student at Howard Bishop Middle School, where he was a classroom aide for physically handicapped children and a member of the chess club and Scrabble club.

Born in Chong-up, Chollabuk-do, Korea, he moved to Gainesville 12 years ago.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Alachua County Chess Club.

Survivors include his father, Robert B. Moberly of Gainesville; his mother, Lynne M. Webb of Gainesville; a brother, Richard Moberly of Durham, N.C.; a sister, Laura Ellen Moberly of Madison, Wis.; and his grandparents, Charles and Ethel McGovern of Perkasie, Pa. Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to National Marfan Foundation.

Mildred Rentz Scott

Mildred Rentz Scott of Gainesville died June 9 at North Florida Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 62.

Mrs. Scott was a homemaker.

Born in Lake City, she moved from Jacksonville to Gainesville 38 years ago.

She was a deaconess and member of the senior choir at Saint Luke Full Gospel Baptist Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Romacq Durant and Emmalene Young, both of Gainesville, Sylvia Harris of Lake City, Ora Enman of Fort White and Annie L. Scott of Orlando; a son, Willard L. Rentz of Gainesville; six sisters, Estella Cray of Gainesville, Emma Jones and Earlene Jackson, both of St. Petersburg, Barbara J. Burnett and Louise Fleming, both of Philadelphia, and Leah Hemphill of Atlanta; six brothers, Dr. Lewis Rentz of Lakeland, the Rev. Joseph Rentz and Levi Rentz, both of Gainesville, Deacon Saul Rentz of Alachua, the Rev. Willie Rentz and Vernon Rentz, both of Atlanta; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Marvin Larry Stewart

ALACHUA -- Marvin Larry Stewart of Alachua died Tuesday at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville after a long illness. He was 52.

Mr. Stewart was a retired lineman at Gainesville Regional Utilities. He also was a Seabee in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War.

Born in Gainesville, he moved to Alachua 24 years ago.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Stewart was a member of Countryside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lottie Stewart of Alachua; a daughter, Deanna Campbell of Alachua; his mother, Dorothy Stewart of LaCrosse; three sisters, Wanda Willis and Gail Holton, both of Gainesville, and Dianne Barron of Trenton; and three grandchildren.

George G. Graham

MOUNT DORA -- George G. Graham of Mount Dora died Wednesday. He was 83.

Mr. Graham was an attorney and a certified public accountant. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Born in Bradenton, he moved from Miami to Central Florida 17 yeas ago. He received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Florida and received a law degree from the University of Miami.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Graham of Mount Dora; a son; a daughter, Nita Graham Newell of Gainesville; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Frederick J. Loesche Jr.

Frederick J. Loesche Jr. of Gainesville died Thursday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 77.

Mr. Loesche was an electrical contractor. Born in Maplewood, Mo., he moved from Live Oak to Gainesville three years ago.

He was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church, National Electrical Contractors Association and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 349.

Survivors include his wife, Claudia B. Loesche of Gainesville; two sons, Frederick J. Loesche III of Miami and Michael Loesche of Homestead; a daughter, Frances Hadley of Miami; a sister, Helen Howell of Lorida; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Maria Pomar

Maria Pomar of Gainesville died Wednesday in Gainesville. She was 87.

Mrs. Pomar designed children's clothing.

Born in Havana, Cuba, she moved from Miami to Gainesville 13 years ago.

She volunteered for various city of Gainesville senior programs.

Mrs. Pomar was a Catholic.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Pomar was preceded in death by her husband, Julio Pomar; and a son, Mario Pomar.

Survivors include a daughter, Maria-Elena Pomar of Boca Raton; two sons, Julio Pomar of Gainesville and Fernando Romero of Cuba; a brother, Ramon Alvarez of Cuba; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Stop! Children's Cancer.

Nettie L. Wyckoff

TRENTON -- Nettie L. Wyckoff of Trenton died Thursday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was 84.

Mrs. Wyckoff was a nurse in the U.S. Navy during World War II and at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

Born in Portsmouth, Va., she moved from Tallahassee to Trenton 15 years ago. She was a member of University Cathedral Church in Los Angeles, Calif.

Survivors include two sons, William T. Wyckoff and Robert L. Wyckoff, both of Trenton; and three grandsons, including Robert Wyckoff Jr. of Trenton.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Pastor Dr. Gene Scott at the University Cathedral Church in Los Angeles.
