Donald Foy McRae

STARKE -- Donald Foy "Bill" McRae of Starke died Sunday at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville after a long illness. He was 83.

Mr. McRae was a retired postal carrier.

He was a lifelong resident of Starke.

Mr. McRae was a Mason and a member of First United Methodist Church in Starke.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise McRae of Starke; a daughter, Carol Stevenson of Starke; a son, William McRae of Starke; a sister, Dolly Spiers of Starke; and four grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the First United Methodist Church's music program in Starke.

Samuel Loy Perry

TALLAHASSEE -- Samuel Loy Perry of Tallahassee died Monday in Tallahassee after a short illness. He was 88.

Mr. Perry formerly owned a service station in Live Oak.

Born in Poulan, Ga., he lived in Live Oak most of his life before moving to Tallahassee three months ago.

He was a member of Rotary Club, Live Oak Elks Lodge No. 1165 and First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Perry of Tallahassee; three sons, Sam Perry of Dallas, Richard Perry of Atlanta and Wayne Perry of Lake City; a daughter, Martha Vasquez of Manassas, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

Milford E. Porter

LAKE CITY -- Milford E. "Mickey" Porter of Lake City died Sunday at Shands at Lake Shore in Lake City after a long illness. She was 79.

Mrs. Porter was a homemaker and a licensed cosmetologist.

Born in Logan, W.Va., she moved from Huntington, W.Va., to Lake City 25 years ago.

She enjoyed playing bridge, painting and flower arranging.

Mrs. Porter was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lake City and was a former member of Lake City Garden Club.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jack Porter of Lake City; two daughters, Kristen P. Fyke of Prince William Sound, Alaska, and Mary Elizabeth God of Orlando; a brother, Donal N. Mathena of Lanett, Ala.; a sister, Irene M. Rhodes of Lake City; and two grandchildren.

Faye Rae Trowell

LAKE BUTLER -- Faye Rae Trowell of Lake Butler died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville after a long illness. She was 77.

Mrs. Trowell was a homemaker.

Born in Lulu, she moved to Lake Butler 45 years ago.

She was a Baptist.

Survivors include seven daughters, Linda Trowell Pierce and Lois Trowell Arnold, both of Lake Butler, Josie Trowell Shuler and Joyce Trowell Foerman, both of Jacksonville, Janice Trowell Alvarez of Raiford, Janice Trowell Richardson of Jacksonville and Lucy Geiger of Starke; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Robert James Bradley Sr.

LAKE BUTLER -- Robert James Bradley Sr. of Lake Butler died Wednesday at Hospice of Gainesville after a long illness. He was 81.

Mr. Bradley was a retired landscaper.

Born in Belleview, he moved from Belleview to Lake Butler 52 years ago.

Survivors include a son, Robert J. Bradley Jr. of Leesburg; two stepsons, David Dillard of Alachua and Roy Dillard of Gainesville; three stepdaughters, Clinnie Price and Bereatha Johnson, both of Gainesville, and Louise Cooper of Buffalo, N.Y.; and 27 grandchildren.

Elouise W. Bright

Elouise W. Bright of Gainesville died May 20 at her son's home in Gainesville after a long illness. She was 83.

Mrs. Bright was a lab technician at the University of Florida.

Born in Lawtey, she moved from Miami to Gainesville 43 years ago.

She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Helen Bright of Jacksonville; a son, Leon Bright of Gainesville; four sisters, Earnestine Thompkins of Starke, Idella White of Lawtey, Maybell Hancock of Daytona Beach and Ora Lee Jackson of Brooksville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Earl Campbell

CHIEFLAND -- Earl Campbell of Chiefland died Tuesday at Nature Coast Regional Hospital in Williston. He was 81.

Mr. Campbell formerly owned and operated Chiefland Drive Inn. He later was a tool and pump parts salesman at McCormicks in Chiefland, a well driller and a pump repairman.

Born in Cedar Key, he moved from Cedar Key to Chiefland 46 years ago.

He was a member of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include two sons, J. Grinell Campbell and Donald E. Campbell, both of Alachua; two daughters, Earlene C. Crews of Chiefland and Bonnie C. Clelland of Savannah, Ga.; a brother, Edgar Campbell of Cedar Key; two sisters, Ruby Dyals of Trenton and Jeanette Mars of Waynesboro, Miss.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Johnny Gadson Colson

TRENTON -- Johnny Gadson Colson of Trenton died Tuesday at his home. He was 77.

Mr. Colson was a market manager for Winn-Dixie. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Born in Cedar Key, he moved from West Palm Beach to Trenton 21 years ago.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion of West Palm Beach and the Chiefland Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Colson of Trenton; four sons, Russell Colson of Cedar Key, Phillip Colson and Randy Colson, both of West Palm Beach, and Ronald Colson of Port St. Lucie; a brother, Elvin Colson of Suwannee; two sisters, Elizabeth Martin and Evelyn Mills, both of Cross City; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Frances McPherson Finnell

Frances McPherson Finnell of Gainesville died Tuesday at Integrated Health Services of Gainesville. She was 96.

Mrs. Finnell taught school in Sebring.

Born in New Brighton, Pa., she moved from Naples to Gainesville eight years ago.

She was a Presbyterian.

Mrs. Finnell was preceded in death by her husband, D.D. Finnell.

Survivors include a nephew, Robert McPherson of Gainesville.

Mildred H. Geiger

NEWBERRY -- Mildred H. Geiger of Newberry died Wednesday in Williston. She was 65.

Mrs. Geiger was a homemaker.

Born in Chiefland, she was a lifelong resident of the area.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Newberry and the Newberry Garden Club.

Mrs. Geiger enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing and crafts.

Survivors include her husband, E.J. Geiger of Newberry; two daughters, Bobbie Geiger of Gainesville and Linda Smith of Newberry; two brothers, Wilson Hodge and Jimmy Hodge, both of Newberry; four sisters, Jannie Mae Langford of Newberry, Doris Raehberg of Starke, Yvonne Carlisle of Trenton and Sherry Cannon of Chiefland; and three grandchildren.
