George Merwin

O'BRIEN - George Merwincq of O'Brien died Wednesday at his home after a long illness. He was 65.

Mr. Merwin was a former firefighter for the city of Boca Raton. He also served in the U.S. Navy.

He was born in Norfolk, Va., and moved from Boca Raton to O'Brien two years ago.

Mr. Merwin was a Protestant.

Survivors include his wife, Christicq Merwin of O'Brien; two daughters, Kathy Devivocq of Boca Raton and Michelle LaRuecq of Splendora, Texas; a son, George Merwin of Deerfield Beach; a stepson, James McGeathcq of Lucasville, Ohio; two brothers, Frank Merwin of Waterford, Mich., and Robert Merwin of Anaheim, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Leon Milanowski

Leon Milanowskicq of Gainesville died unexpectedly Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 89.

Mr. Milanowski retired as a machinist from Fafnir Bearing Co. in New Britain, Conn.

He was born in Hazelton, Pa., and had wintered in Gainesville for 12 years.

Mr. Milanowski was a member of the Spartan's Veterans Athletic Club in Kensington, Conn.

He was a Catholic.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Milanowski of Southington,cq Conn., and David Milanowski of Houston; three daughters, Patricia Holliencq of Gainesville, Joan Crowley of Asheville, N.C., and Diane Keachiecq of San Francisco; two sisters, Martha Hayhurstcq of Venice and Hattie Winters of Nuremberg, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Hospice of North Central Florida in Gainesville.

Stephen Lee Perrin

Stephen Lee Perrin of Gainesville died Wednesday at his home. He was 41.

Mr. Perrin was a carpenter.

He was born in Miami and moved from Wasilla, Alaska, to Gainesville 10 years ago..

Mr. Perrin was a Presbyterian.

Survivors include a daughter, Tiffany Perrin of Bethpage, Tenn.; two sons, Stephen S. Perrin and Andrew C. Perrin, both of Wasilla; his parents, David S. and Helen B. Perrin of Gainesville; and two brothers, Walter C. Perrin of Hawthorne and David T. Perrin of Miami.

Larry Riley

Larry Riley of Gainesville died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 76.

Mr. Riley retired from Davey McKee International Construction Co. as an engineer. He also served in the British Royal Air Force during World War II.

Born in Halifax, Yorkshire, England, he moved from Brisbane, Australia, to Gainesville eight years ago.

Mr. Riley was a Christian.

Survivors include his wife, Elsa Riley of Gainesville; a son, Clinton Riley of Gainesville; two sisters, Olive Naylor and Barbara Goodwin, both of England; and two granddaughters.

Ella Fair Walker

WILLISTON - Ella Fair Walker of Williston died Tuesday at her home. She was 91.

Mrs. Walker was a retired nursing aide and a lifelong resident of Williston.

She was a Methodist.

Survivors include a sister, Sara Smith of Raleigh; and her caretakers, Minnie and W.C. Harris of Williston.

Evelyn G. King Lane

Evelyn G. King Lane of Gainesville died Monday at Shands at the University of Florida after a long illness. She was 59.

Mrs. Lane was a lifelong resident of Gainesville and a member of the Landmark Holy Temple of God.

She attended Lincoln High School and cosmetology school.

Survivors include her former husband, Thomas N. Lane of Gainesville.

Gregory Anthony Alleyne

Gregory Anthony Alleyne of Wilmington, Del., died Monday at his home due to cancer. He was 39.

Mr. Alleyne was a job captain for the architectural firm Silver, Petrucelli and Associates in Hamden, Conn.

He was born in San Francisco and lived in Gainesville for 18 years before moving to the Northeast two years ago.

Mr. Alleyne was a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Maria D.F.S. Barbosa of Wilmington; his parents, Victor and Maureen Alleyne of Trinidad and Tobago; and a sister, Deborah Persinger of Gainesville.

Murry Lori Gilchrist Bowens

Murry Lori Gilchrist Bowens of Gainesville died Tuesday at Hospice House of Gainesville after a long illness. She was 56.

Mrs. Bowens was an administrative services coordinator at the University of Florida.

She was born in High Springs.

Mrs. Bowens graduated from Lincoln High School

Mrs. Bowens moved to Gainesville about 45 years ago.

Mrs. Bowens was a minister at the Compassionate Outreach Ministries, where she was a praise leader, Sunday school teacher.

She was also a member of the Pastor's Aide Board.

Survivors include her husband, George Bowens of Gainesville; two daughters, Glenda J. Tigney of Tulsa, Okla., and Adrianne M. Mobley of Gainesville; three brothers, George Gilchrist Jr. and Lester James, both of Gainesville, and Glenn Gilchrist of High Springs; two sisters, Mary Singleton and Belinda Fox, both of Gainesville; and four grandchildren.

Cecelia E. Breeden

Cecelia E. Breeden of Gainesville died Wednesday at Shands at AGH. She was 84.

Mrs. Breeden was a homemaker and a Presbyterian.

She was born in Evansville, Ind., and moved from Holiday to Gainesville 11 years ago.

Mrs. Breeden was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Breeden.

Survivors include her nephew, Frank Laurenzo of Orange Lake; a niece; and her caregiver, Joanie Laurenzo of Orange Lake.

William Bryant

LIVE OAK - William Bryant of Live Oak died Tuesday after a long illness. He was 58.

Mr. Bryant owned and operated a nursery.

He was born in Tampa and moved from Louisiana to Live Oak four years ago.

Mr. Bryant was a Baptist.

He enjoyed working with horses and plants.

Survivors include his companion, Annie-Marie Hodgeson of Live Oak; two sons, Hardie Bryant of Tampa and William Palmer of Sarasota; four daughters, Micki Cooper of Thomasville, N.C., Joann Bryant of Galvez, La., SuAnn Bryant of Tampa and Raellan Morris of Brooksville; his mother, Marie Bryant of Brooksville; two brothers, Johnny Bryant of Seffner and Charles Bryant of Land o' Lakes; four sisters, Sharon Jarvis and Judith Bryant, both of Brooksville, Joyce Anderson of Tampa and Marie Gay of Decatur, Ala.; and 15 grandchildren.
