Lawrence N. Edwards, 62, Beverly Hills, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at his home under the care of his wife and Hospice of Citrus County.

He was born in St. Louis, Mo., and came to Beverly Hills three years ago from Fort Lauderdale.

Mr. Edwards was a communications tower installer.

Surviving are his wife, Sue Ellen Edwards of Beverly Hills; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Edwards and Wayne Keith Edwards, both of Fort Lauderdale; and one grandson.

Pilar Escudero, 89 Homosassa

Pilar Escudero, 89, Homosassa, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, in Crystal River.

She was born March 25, 1912, in Spain to Jose Mendez and Maria (Escudero) Mendez. She came here from Argentina 10 years ago.

She spent many years as a cook in private homes. She cared for her family and loved being at home.

She was Catholic.

Surviving are one son, David Escudero of Homosassa; one daughter, Alicia (Mariano) Manrique of Homosassa; three granddaughters, Carolyn Ramieriz of Brooklyn, N.Y., Susan Brescia and Fedar Escudero, both of Homosassa; one great-grandson, David Ian of Homosassa; and three great-granddaughters, Celian Brescia of Homosassa, Taryn Davis of Louisiana and Marlina Rameriz of Brooklyn, N.Y. May-Britt Iverson, 75 Inverness

May-Britt Iverson, 75, Inverness, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, in Inverness.

She was born Sept. 4, 1926, in Flushing, N.Y., to Nils and Karin Anderson. She came here in 1973 from Langley Air Force Base.

Mrs. Iverson was a volunteer for Learn to Read of Citrus County, Girl Scouts, Clown Ministry of Citrus County, Citrus County Fair Association, Citrus United Basket, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Family Resource Center, Citrus County Transportation Board; 1998 Volunteer of the Year; and 1998 Top Ten Women of Citrus County.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Inverness; and taught in the Love Department Sunday School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Iverson, on June 26, 1983.

She is survived by one son, Bob Iverson of Inverness; two daughters, Kathryn Herndon of Floral City and Karin O’Donnell of Goldsboro, N.C.; one brother, Kenneth Simonsen of Chicago, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

James Jenkins, 68 Homosassa

James Lloyd Jenkins, 68, Homosassa, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, in Homosassa.

He was born April 18, 1933, in Tulsa, Okla., to Lloyd Lowell and Mary Brown Jenkins.

He came here from Pohrum p, Nev., in 1998 after retiring from the Nye County Sheriff’s Department, Nye County, Nevada, where he was a police detective.

Mr. Jenkins was a retired T/Sgt with 21 years of service in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police.

Surviving are his wife, Annette Wolfrey Jenkins of Homosassa; three sons, Jeffrey Roe, Mathew Roe, both of Tonopah, Nev., and Robert Roe of Homosassa; three daughters, Vicki Anzuldua of Crowley, Texas, Tammy Ring of Keller, Texas, and Cindy Jenkins of Tucson, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.

Gizella Lenhardt, 89 Dunnellon

Gizella Lenhardt, 89, Dunnellon, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, in Crystal River.

She was born Sept. 8, 1912, in Newark, N.J. to Eugene Zsutty and Gizella Tinschmidt Zsutty. She came here in 1999 from St. Petersburg.

Mrs. Lenhardt was a retired supervisor for American Photocopy.

She was Catholic.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lenhardt. Surviving are her daughter, Irma Breault of Dunnellon; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

James ‘Mr. D’ DeMaria, 78 Spring Hill

James J. “Mr. D” DeMaria, 78, Spring Hill, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, under the care of his family and Hernando/Pasco Hospice.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to John and Antoinette DeMaria.

Mr. DeMaria was a general contractor, developer and Realtor. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was an avid collector of scale automobiles.

He was Catholic and a member of St. Joan of Arc Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Teresa, who died Oct. 4, 1994.

He is survived by his children, Annmarie DePerte and her husband, Robert, of Odessa, James W. DeMaria and his wife, Deborah, of Hudson, and Diane Puleo and her husband, Steven, of Royal Palm Beach; his grandchildren, Tara and Nicole DePerte, James, Michael and John DeMaria and Thomas and Michael Puleo; his sister, Mary Russo of Vineland, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may honor Mr. DeMaria with a donation to Hernando/Pasco Hospice.

John Edison Sr., 87 Romeo

John Cecil Edison Sr., 87, Romeo, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, in Dunnellon.

Born in Branford, he moved to Romeo in 1939 from Morriston. Mr. Edison was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Romeo Baptist Church and the Friendship Masonic Lodge No. 53 F&AM.

Surviving are his wife, Annie Edison of Romeo; four sons, John Edison Jr. of Dunnellon, William Edison of Bainbridge, Ga., Edward Edison of Ocala and Jeffery Edison of Chiefland; three daughters, Judy Markley of Dunnellon, Gail Faircloth of Chiefland and Linda Hasson of Gainesville; one sister, Myrtle Ross of Gainesville; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Eva Everett, 101 Lecanto

Eva D. Everett, 101, Lecanto, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, in Lecanto.

She was born Jan. 4, 1901, in Abbott, Maine, to Lamont and Flora Forbus. She came here from Spring Hill.

She was a retired beautician.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bernice Meldrum and Ruth Stanchfield.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Allan Kinsley Jr., 76 Inverness

Allan Lawrence Kinsley Jr., 76, Inverness, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.

Born on Sept. 6, 1925, in Boston, Mass., to the late Allan L. and Agnes (DiKarski) Kinsley, he came here 22 years ago from North Weymouth, Mass.

Mr. Kinsley was a retired foreman with the Department of Public Works for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with 30 years of service and a World War II U.S. Naval veteran.

After retiring to Florida he owned and operated Allan’s Painting and Pressure Cleaning Business.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, on March 18, 2001.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen Kinsley of Inverness and Michael Kinsley of Cooperopolis, Calif.; three daughters, Diane Sullivan of Dunnellon, Christine Garnett of Quincy, Mass., and Nancy Rodgers of Inverness; one brother, John Kinsley of New Mexico; two sisters, Dorothy Kinsley of Quincy, Mass., and Florence Dalto of Florida; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Gene ‘Marcie’ Lambo, 75 Hernando

Gene “Marcie” Lambo, 75, Hernando, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, in Surrey Place of Lecanto.

A native of St. Petersburg, she was born July 1, 1926, to William and Rhoda Underhill. She came to Citrus County 20 years ago from St. Petersburg.

She was a retired beautician and a member of the Jehovah’s Witness congregation in Hernando.

Survivors include one brother, Carl Underhill of New Port Richey; one sister, Charlotte Hogg of Tallahassee; and three grandchildren, Pam, Robert and Greg. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Sexton, who died Dec. 9, 1985.

Alexander Reichardt, 93, Inverness, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, in Woodland Terrace of Hernando.

A native of Hungary, he was born Nov. 23, 1908, and moved here from Bricktown, N.Y. He was a retired interior decorator. He was Catholic.

Survivors include one son, Alexander Reichardt Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; one daughter, Virginia Cranwell of Fanwood, N.J.; one sister, Marie Szoo of Lakewood, N.J.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary “Anna” Reichardt, on Oct. 18, 1996.

Genevieve Agnes Sanders, 78, Sugarmill Woods, Homosassa, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, in Crystal River.

She was born Feb. 23, 1923, in New York City to James and Edna (Kennedy) Canfield. She came here from Pompano Beach 15 years ago.

She was a member and vice president of WAVES National Gulf Manatee Unit 87 of Citrus County. She was a member of Women of Sugarmill Woods and Sugarmill Woods Golf and Country Club. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Sanders. Survivors include her son, Gregory Carr of New York City, N.Y.; two stepsons, George J. Sanders of Roswell, Ga., and Robert L. Sanders of Mahway, N.J.; one stepdaughter, Helen Sanders Bamberga of Edinboro, Pa.; one brother, James Carr of Lauderhill; one granddaughter, Kimberly Hare of Beaufort, N.C.; and one great-grandson, John R. Hare of Beaufort, N.C. Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa Springs.
