Joy Bismarck, 77, Dunnellon, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Monroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala.
She was retired as a purchasing agent for the city of Pinellas Park, after 28 years of service.
She was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Staten Island, N.Y., to Frederick and Edith Warrington.
She sang and preformed in Vaudeville as a young woman.
She is survived by her son, Keane O. Bismarck of Dunedin, three daughters, Lisa G. Boutwell of Bell, Laurel J. Kelly of Newberry and Debi A. Bismarck of Dunnellon; a sister, Sunshine Roelofsen of Victoria, British Columbia; six grandchildren, Timothy Bismarck of Brooksville, Melissa Bismarck of New Port Richey, Daniel Dane of Bell, Sean Boutwell of Bell, Clinton Fisher of Gainesville and Aaron Pagniano of Dunnellon; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Bismarck of Brooksville, and Cheyenne and Kayla Dove, both of New Port Richey.

J.C. Brantley, 75, Crystal River, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at his home.
He was retired from the U.S. Army as SFC/E7.
He was born June 5, 1926, in Ivanhoe, Texas, to Mollie L. and Clarence Brantley.
He moved to the area 8 years ago from Monterey, Calif.
He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post No. 155, Crystal River.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Foley of Watsonville, Calif., and one grandchild.

George Cedar, 67 Crystal River George R. Cedar, 67, Crystal River, died Friday, Feb.1, 2002, at Crystal River Health and Rehab.
He was a retired railroad brakeman and conductor.
He was born July 17, 1930, in Haydenville, Ohio, to Bertha and George Cedar.
He came to the area 11 years ago from Watertown, N.Y.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the VFW in Watertown, N.Y., the American Legion in Sackets Harbour, N.Y., and the Elks Lodge in Watertown, N.Y.
He also was past president of the United States Transportation Union in Watertown, N.Y., and past president of the Lucky Strokers Support Group at Surrey Place in Lecanto.
He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and all-round sportsman.
He was also a member of the Asbury Methodist Church in Watertown, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Roslyn B. Cedar of Crystal River; two daughters, Mona Jean Cedar-Smith of Los Angeles, Calif., and Cheryl Ann Kenny of Flower Mound, Texas; a son, George R. Cedar Jr. of Lorraine, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.

Peter G. Krejci, 78, Inverness, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness.
He was a retired carpenter and millman in the construction industry.
He was born Jan. 5, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., to Peter and Marie Krejci Sr.
He moved to the area 12 years ago from Mundelein, Ill. He was Catholic.
He was a member of the Inverness Eagles Club, where he served as the bingo chairman, VFW Post 4337 and the Beverly Hills Horseshoe Club.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna Haynes Krejci of Inverness; two sons, Peter Krejci Jr. and his wife, Mary, of St. Louis, Mo., and Jim Krejci of Milwaukee, Wisc.; two daughters, Mary Ann Klein and her husband, Gene, of Inverness, and Liz Witten of Floral City; a brother, Ray Davalos of Santa Maria, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Benedict Joseph Mannara, 83, Crystal River, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness.
He was a retired machinist for General Electric.
He was born March 2, 1918, in Troy, N.Y., to Louis and Vincentia Mannara.
He moved to Crystal River in 1991 from Troy, N.Y. He attended St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Louis and James Mannara.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Mannara of Crystal River; a daughter, Berenice Bowersox and her husband, James, of Crystal River; three grandchildren, Tracy Shoemaker, Nina Mannara, Jamie Mannara and Benedict Mannara, all of Troy, N.Y.; and four great-grandchildren, J.C. Shoemaker, Anthony J. Shoemaker, Emily M. Shoemaker and Nicole Mannara, all of Troy, N.Y.

She was a native of Crystal River.
She moved from Brooksville to Palatka in 1954.
She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and the Palatka Woman’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde P. Moore, who was the former owner of Moore’s Drug Store in Palatka and Miller Robert Miley Sr. of Inverness. Her sister, Ollie Mae Mason Rollinson of Palatka, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Miller Robert “Bob” Miley of Franklin, N.C.; a sister, Marion Thompson of Palatka and a brother, Jack Sassard of Orlando.

She moved to the area in 1986 from Lindenhurst, N.Y.
She was Protestant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Pritts. She is survived by her daughter, Laura and her husband Kenneth Gavey of Copiague, N.Y.; a brother, Henry Rowan of Cambridge, N.Y.; a sister, Cora Zakrewski of Bogota, N.J.; and two grandchildren, Sara and Scott Gavey.

He is survived by a stepson, Scott Small of Milton; four grandchildren, Paul, Dusty, T-Bert and Jammie; a sister, Janet Pruitt of Lakeland; and two brothers, Mayo “Mac” of Perry and Bobby Snow of Brooksville.

She moved to New York in 1961 from Argentina.
She became a U.S. citizen in 1968.
She moved to Inverness in 1994 from New York.
She is survived by her sister, Clara Chamaza of Inverness, and several nieces and nephews.

Theodore Roosevelt Archer Jr., 74, Floral City, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, in Inverness.
He was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Theodore R. and Anna May Archer. He came here from Largo in 1984.
Mr. Archer retired after 30 years as a salesman with Continental Baking.
He is survived by one son, Robert S. Archer of Inverness; one daughter, Deborah S. Memole of Largo; two sisters, Betty Wood and Joann Byars, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
