Lillian A. Bennett
Lillian A. Bennett, 88, of Mt. Dora passed away March 4, 2010. She was born in Danville, IL on October 7, 1921, lived a long life of adventure and world travel as an Army wife. She was the mother of five remarkable children and was a small business owner later in her life. As a teenager she babysat Dick and Jerry Van Dyke in Danville. She raised her family in various locations around the United States as well as in Germany and Japan. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Orlando in 1984 and opened an upholstery business which she continued until she retired at the age of 75.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Verde W. Bennett and her parents, Adlai and Lillian Isaacson. Survived by her brother, William Isaacson 85, IL; four daughters, Susan Fafard (Charlie) WI; Barbara Allen (Robert), FL; Lynda Bennett (Carol King), MN; Kathleen Long (Jack), FL, and a son, Joe Bennett (Natalie), WI; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew.
Loved and admired by all for her optimism and bright spirit, always able to see the silver lining in any situation and routinely providing service to others. She entertained all with colorful stories of life abroad, life on the farm and the interesting and diverse people she knew throughout her life. She passed on this spirit of adventure and love of life to her children and all whom she has touched.
Internment service will be held at St. Peters cemetery in Clifton, Wisconsin, late summer. Information may be obtained from son at jnbennett5@charter.net.

William J. Gruenewald
William J. Gruenewald, 60, of Sanford, FL passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2010.
No services will be held.

Dennis Robinson
Dennis Robinson, 87, of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.
Services are pending.

Robert F. (Bob) Geagan
Robert F. (Bob) Geagan died peacefully on June 28, 2010 at Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares after a long illness.
Born December 13, 1932, in Jackson Heights, NY, he was the son of Joseph P. and Margaret (Brennan) Geagan. He was raised on Long Island and attended St. Christopher’s School in Baldwin and St. Paul’s Abbey in Newton, NJ. He received his B.A. from St. John’s University in Queens, NY.
Bob began his professional career at Cunard Lines. He then became a sales supervisor for U.S. Steel in New York City. In 1969, Bob and his family moved to Montpelier, VT where he was employed by the State Personnel Department as the Employee Benefits Chief. He retired to Florida in 1989.
Bob married Doris McGovern on October 5, 1957. They had five children. He was predeceased by Doris in 1983 and his son John in 1994.
Bob married Ann Scheveling on July 1, 1993 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora. Bob served as a lector at St. Patrick and was a hospice volunteer in the community.
He is survived by his wife Ann of Mount Dora; daughters Mary Beth of Stamford, CT, Kathleen of Brownsville, VT, Maureen of Castleton, NY, and Eileen of Averill Park, NY; daughter-in-law Jacqueline Douglas (Pete Jordan) of New Britain, CT; stepsons Peter (Natalie) Scheveling, of Eustis, and Jude (Amy) Scheveling of St. Augustine, and grandsons Jack and Luke. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Geagan, CSJ, and his brothers James and Thomas (Sandra) Geagan, as well as nieces and nephews.
Bob received a heart transplant in 1997 and the family requests that you consider becoming an organ donor.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora.
A funeral mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora, FL.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church for St. Luke’s Clinic, 6803 Old Highway 441 S., Mount Dora, FL 32757, providing healthcare for those in need.

Othene H. Anderson
Othene H. Anderson, 88, of Astatula, FL passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL.
A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Astatula cemetery in Astatula, FL.

Robert Blair Woodward
Robert Blair Woodward, 81, of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010. He was born on November 16, 1928 in Cleveland, OH.
Mr. Woodward proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and as a veteran of World War II. His most memorable experience with the marines was escorting the war dead returning from World War II.
He spent his career in Fairfax, Virginia, as an association executive, during which he developed a specialty as a construction safety expert. When he retired from the association business, he started his own construction safety consulting business, Safety Environmental Engineering, SEE Inc. providing jobsite visits, audits and training to construction businesses.
Bob received a Bachelor’s degree in 2002 after starting his college career fifty years earlier. He and Peggie retired and moved to Mount Dora, FL and have been members of Faith Lutheran Church in Eustis, Florida.
Bob is survived by his wife, Peggie; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lorraine Woodward of Raleigh, NC; brother, Richard McCartney of Quincy, IL; sister, Marilynn Leon of Potomac, MD; and grandsons Nathan and Alexander Woodward.
Visitation will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, July 1, 2010 followed by funeral service at 11 AM, both at Faith Lutheran Church in Eustis, FL., followed by Internment at Pine Forest cemetery in Mount Dora, FL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 34778. We extend heartfelt appreciation to Hospice for their selfless ability to make dying a more graceful and dignified experience.

Charles “Chuck” Carson Lynn, Jr.
Charles “Chuck” Carson Lynn, Jr., 44, of Sorrento, FL died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, June 26, 2010, near Douglas, WY while participating in the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge, a grueling cross-country event starting in Key West, FL, and ending in Homer Alaska.
Born March 10, 1966 in Monongahela, PA, Chuck was the son of Veronica Sobeck-Lynn, and the late Charles Carson Lynn, Sr. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1984 and spent the following 25 years as an aviation mechanic, beginning with service in the USAF, and continuing with Renown Aviation, Inc., DynCorp Technical Services, and currently with OPTEC, Inc. While in the Air Force he served with the “Jolly Green” from April, 1986 to August, 1989, and was known to his military friends as Chuck “The Luckiest Man in Korea” Lynn. His civilian career included locations around the world, most recently Bogota, Colombia, and he was the holder of numerous technical and professional certifications and licenses, including Airframe and Powerplant Aviation Mechanic Certification from the State of Oklahoma.
Chuck is survived by his wife Rocio Lynn of Sorrento, and son, Jonathan Lynn who resides in Mathopen, Norway; sister Cathie Pollock of Mobile, AL, her husband John Pollock, and their children Daniel Devers and Rebecca Franklin, and Rebecca’s children, Dakota, Ashton and Roman; sister Bessie Fait Lynn of Dravosburg, PA, and her children Rodney Sawyers and Traci Patrick, Rodney’s daughter Evanna and Traci’s son Ryan; mother-in-law “Mommy” Susana Palacios and the late Cristano I. Perez of Bogota, Colombia; sister-in-law Edna Hagen of Tucson, AZ, her husband Jeff Hagen, and their children Sophia and Isabella; sister-in-law Patty Cappiello of Boca Raton, FL, her husband Darryl Cappiello, and their children Anthony and Valentina; sister-in-law Paola Perez of Bogota, Colombia, her husband Leonardo Carreno, and their daughter Danielita. Chuck was a godparent to Anthony and Valentina Cappiello, Sophia Hagen, Danielita Carreno and Bryson Cain.
Chuck was an avid motorcyclist, logging thousands of miles on his Harley Davidson Road Glide, often accompanied by his wife, Rocio. He was very passionate about participating in the Hoka Hey Challenge that started on June 20, 2010. Hoka Hey means “My mind is clear, my soul is at peace, and I can complete what I need to do.” Chuck enjoyed any form of travelling and discovering the world. He also enjoyed aviation, scuba diving, fishing, and riflery. He was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins, and was a member of the Harley Owners Group, the American Motorcyclist Association, ABATE, and the National Rifle Association.
One of his interests was reading about history and biographies. Some of his favorites were Ruanaidh, Slash, and Asgaard.
He enjoyed shows like The O’Reilly Factor, All in the Family, Dr. House, and Hannity’s America.
He also enjoyed movies like The Godfather, Forest Gump, Platoon, and The Rock as well as comedies and wild west movies. He loved listening to rock music, hard rock and blues.
Some of Chuck’s quotes are “I’m actually not funny. I’m just really mean and people think I’m joking.” and “Making Drug Test Mandatory for Welfare.”
Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 and from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL.
A memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, July 2, 2010 at St. Edward’s Episcopal Church, 552 East 5th Ave., Mount Dora, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Camp Challenge, 31600 Camp Challenge Road, Sorrento, FL 32776.

Flossie Lee Carroll
Flossie Lee Carroll, 92, of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010.
She was born on July 9, 1917 in Limestone County, AL to the late Thomas Jefferson Sims and Edna Blanche (Coffman) Sims.
Mrs. Carroll moved to Florida from Alabama in 1934.
She was a member of the Orange Avenue Church of Christ in Eustis, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie J. Carroll.
Mrs. Carroll is survived by her son, Jeff Carroll of Salado, TX; daughters, Mackie Boddy of Wildwood, FL, Gwen Means of Mount Dora, FL, and Ardie Benson of Montgomery, AL; sister, Sarah Wolford of Helena, AL; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 25, 2010, from 6-8 P.M. at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Orange Avenue Church of Christ in Eustis, FL.

Michael M. Serrett, 25, of Apopka, FL passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL.
A vigil service will immediately follow at 7 P.M. on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL with Father Blase Romano as Celebrant.

Betty J. Morris, 75, of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2010.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 2:30pm at Summerall Park, in Tavares, FL.

Vincent Paul Groetzner
Vincent Paul Groetzner, age 6, passed away on June 14, 2010.
He was born on June 27, 2003 in Longwood, FL to Paul M. Groetzner and Lisamarie Avallone-Groetzner. Vincent was a loving and sensitive boy, amazing son, awesome big brother and brilliant student and artist.
He is survived by his mother and father, Lisa and Paul Groetzner; maternal grandparents, Susan and Louis Avallone; paternal grandparents, Silvia and Dan Groetzner; brother and sisters, Dominic, Avelina, and Alessia; aunt, Priscilla (Steve); uncles Michael (Kelly) and Eric (Darlene); cousin, Brandon; Godparents, Valerie and Robert Papes; and Nana Trish.
A children’s calling hour will be held from 4-5 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora with calling hours for the public immediately following from 5-7 p.m. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora, FL with Father Blase Romano as Celebrant.

Eleanor M. Lee, 93, of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL.
A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Pine Forest cemetery in Mount Dora, FL.

Christine H. Wagner, 71, of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2010.
She was born in Dallastown, PA on October 20, 1938 to the late John R. Rojahn and Helen (Brown) Rojahn.
Mrs. Wagner moved to Mount Dora from Bloomsburg, PA in 1993.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora.
Mrs. Wagner is survived by her husband, Richard M. Wagner; son, Richard S. Wagner; daughters, Elizabeth Dehart and Gina Sinclair; brothers, John Rojahn and Bill Rojahn; sisters Beth Kleb, Clare Prim, Faith Grim, Martha Russo, Marilyn Vanbuskirk and Jane Ann Delp; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora.
