Norman “Norm” W. Karr
Norman “Norm” W. Karr, age 85 passed away in Mount Dora, FL. on January 6, 2013, from pneumonia complications.
Born August 1, 1927 in Melrose Park, IL, he was the beloved husband of Ruby (Plecas) for 63 years. Dearest father of Paul (Michele) Karr, Jon (Cecilia) Karr and grandfather to Elizabeth, Michael & Jonathan and brother of Ruth Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Emma (Kikkebusch) Karr and brother Glen (Jean) Karr. Norm graduated from Proviso East High School, Maywood, IL. in 1945 and served in the Navy during World War II and as a 2nd lieutenant in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He later joined the family business Karr Bothers, Inc., with his father Paul, brother Glen and other family members, eventually becoming the principal owner. He was past President of the Chicago Area Painting & Decorating Contractors Association and was a member of the City Planning Commission in Park Ridge, IL where he lived for over 25 years. Norm pursued his lifelong passion for golf and could usually be found playing or doing committee work at Mount Dora Golf Association.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 2:00 PM in the Waterman Village Chapel, 445 Waterman Ave., Mount Dora, FL. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to Florida VFW Foundation Inc., 543 NE Sanchez Ave., Ocala, Florida 34470.

Louise Wilkes, 84, of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013.
Born in Memphis, TN on October 17, 1928 to Charles and Beulah Collins. She was married
to Elmo Wilkes on 10-21-1947. They moved to FL in the early 1980's to Lake county.
Preceded in death in 1993, by her spouse of 45 years, Elmo Wilkes. She was also preceded in death by 2 children; Julia Adelle and Delana Louise, and one grandchild Nathaniel.
She had completed 2 years of college and she worked as an Administrative Assistant most of her life, usually in the healthcare industry. She raised a large, close family.
Louise is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters: Michael Wilkes of Mass; Angela Read of Mt Dora, FL; Patrick Wilkes of Nevada; and Dessie Romero of Okahumpka, FL. She also is survived by 21 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing to begin at 5 PM Thursday, 1-10-13 with memorial service starting at 6 PM at MT Dora SDA Church, Highway 441, Mt Dora, FL.
Burial service at 11 AM, Friday, 1-12-13 at Mascotte Cemetery, Highway 50, Mascotte, FL.

Wilma L. Lowe, of Mount Dora, FL passed away January 2, 2013. She was born on April 9, 1915 in Wadestown, WV.
After her marriage to Ralph C. Lowe they resided in Washington, PA. They came to Central Florida in 1971 where she taught private organ lessons for 14 years at Tune Town in Leesburg, FL.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis.
She is survived by one sister, Freda Feeland of Portsmouth, VA; and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Greenwood cemetery in Eustis, FL.

Charles R. Welsh, 85, of Eustis, FL passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010.
He was born in Westernport, MD on June 20, 1924 to the late John Welsh and Rose (Louth) Welsh.
Charles proudly served his country for 22 years in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean conflict and WWII.
He moved to Central Florida from Waldorf, MD in 1980.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Marie L. Welsh.
Charles is survived by four sons, Pete Welsh, Paul Welsh (Cheryl), Charles Welsh, Jr., and John Welsh; one daughter, Eleanor Griffis (Raymond); and 6 grandchildren.

Dr. G. Robert Walker
Dr. G. Robert Walker, 90, a longtime resident of Mount Dora, FL, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 of natural causes. Dr. Walker or “Doc” as many called him was born in Beaver Falls, PA to the late George and Rose Law Walker on June 22, 1919. He was the youngest of 5 siblings. After graduating from National Chiropractic School in Chicago, IL he moved his family to Mt. Dora, where he began his practice of 35 plus years.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific with the U.S. Navy.
Always active, he loved dancing, golf, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.
Doc Walker was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Joyce Walker.
He is survived by his daughter, Toni Morrison of Altamonte Springs, FL; one granddaughter, Tracy Michola and husband, Doug; two step-granddaughters, Alison Craven and Kris Morrison and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL.
