Marianne E. Zydek, 72, of Grand Island passed away on Saturday April 10, 2010. She was born in Ithaca, New York and moved here in 1990 from Northville, New York. She was a Christian and along with her husband Stanley was a bowling proprietor having owned and operated Town N’ Country Lanes in Guilderland, New York.

Mrs. Zydek is survived by her husband of 43 years, Stanley, and her siblings, Robert Jones of Troy, New York, Patricia (Ronald) Turcotte, Troy, New York, Paula (Todd) Garneau of Cohoes, New York and Sharon (Michael) Gosden of Ballston Lake, New York and 13 Nieces & Nephews.

Friends called in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel from 4 until 6 PM Wednesday April 14,2010. A Memorial Ceremony was held at 6 PM. Maria Angelina Rinnier
May 18, 1963 - April 13, 2010

Maria Angelina Rinnier

Maria Angelina Rinnier, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, niece, and friend to all, age 46 of Rockledge, FL passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. She was born in Atlanta, GA on May 18, 1963. Mrs. Rinnier was an Emergency Communication Specialist for Kennedy Space Center.

She is survived by her husband John Michael Rinnier of Rockledge, FL; father, Jack DePrima and his wife Priscilla of Eustis, FL; son, Michael David Marshall of Eustis, FL; brother, Richard (Jennifer) DePrima of Kansas City, KA; grandson, Evan Marshall of Orlando, FL; aunt, Kathy (Ron) Howard of Leesburg, FL; uncles, Tony (Karen) McLemore of West Palm Beach, FL and David (Sherry) McLemore of Ft. Myers, FL. She was preceded in death by her son Mathew Bartel in 1986.

Angel was an inspiration to all who knew her with her continual strength, love, kindness and generosity. She was always soft spoken, never complaining and always there for anyone in need.

Her strength was amazing throughout all her struggles with cancer. She always had a cheerful smile and love to show all. Angel brought a calmness and peace to everyone.

She gave her dogs, Samantha and Sneakers, tremendous love and care always and they in return gave her the same love. Their companionship was a wonderful comfort to her.

Angel was an “Angel” to all her family, friends and anyone who met her. She always had a glow around her.

She was our “Angel” here on earth and is now an “Angel” with our Lord in Heaven. She will be greatly missed, but will always be in the hearts of everyone who knew her. When we think of her beautiful smile and cheerfulness, we will always know she is in our hearts and being our “Angel” from above.

A Memorial Service for Maria was held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2:00PM in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel, Eustis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ann Foley
March 9, 1921 - April 14, 2010

Ann Foley, 89, of Fruitland Park passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. She was born in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania and moved here in 1977 from Miami. Mrs. Foley was of the Orthodox faith.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Ann Foley of Lake Worth, Florida, Lawrence E. Foley of Leicester, North Carolina and Carol Briggs of Eustis, and three grandchildren.

Services and interment will be at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Fruitland Park

Diana Lynn Whitney
April 14, 2010

Diana Lynn Whitney 52 of Eustis passed away on Wednesday April 14, 2010. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved here from Montverde in 1991. She was a homemaker and a Christian.

She is survived by her husband Gary, her daughter Lisa Marie Lowrey of Clermont and her parents; Sally Day of Griffin, Georgia and John Orris of Kissimmee.

Her final resting place will be Griffin, Georgia.

Julia A. Hobaugh
April 4, 1942 - April 16, 2010

Julia A. Hobaugh, 68, of Leesburg passed away in Leesburg on Friday, April 16, 2010. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana and moved here in 1984. She was a Christian and the former Manager of “My Gift Cottage” in The Villages.

Mrs. Hobaugh is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ed; her children David (Birgit) Hobaugh of Bahrain, Persian Gulf, Cindy (Steve) Carmer of Fishers, Indiana and Randy Hobaugh of Leesburg, her grandchildren, Kelly Keena, Oliver Hobaugh, Kimberly Hobaugh and Alicia Carmer, her great-grandchildren, Mason Keena and Michael Devose; and her brothers John Rubright and James Rubright both of Lafayette, Indiana and Thomas Rubright of Buck Creek, Indiana. The family requests those desiring direct memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Ceremonies were held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Two O’clock PM. Rev. William Boyer officiated.

Leroy F. Abernathy
September 28, 1923 - April 24, 2010

Leroy F. Abernathy 86 of Astatula passed away on Saturday April 24, 2010. He was born in Rivers Bend, North Carolina and moved here in 1968. Mr. Abernathy was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Eustis, a Veteran of the United States Air Force retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant, retired from the United States Postal Service, and worked at Mission Inn Resort and Club of Howey in the Hills for 15 years and he was a member of the Order of the Eagles Aerie 4273 of Okahumpka.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Margaret, children; Lee (Marion) Abernathy of Grand Junction, Michigan, Wayne (Stacy) Abernathy of Astatula and Sue (Paul) Anderson of Salisbury, Maryland, his brother Jake (Cleo) Abernathy of Catawba, North Carolina, sister Willie Mae Munday also of Catawba and sister Polly (Dennis) Woodring of Chester, Virginia, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests those desiring direct memorials to Shriners Hospitals for Children 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. Services were held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Thursday April 29, 2010 at 11 O’clock AM with The Rev. Karen C. Egerton officiating. Interment with military honors followed in Astatula Cemetery.

James Michael Self Sr.
April 23, 1940 - April 27, 2010

James Michael Self Sr. 70 of Eustis passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky and moved here in 1996. He was a produce retailer and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his children; James M. (Sharon) Self Jr., Louisville, Kentucky, Janie (Lonnie) Ritchey, Louisville, Deborah (Eddie) See, Bethlehem, Indiana and Darlene (Gary) Davis of Louisville, his brothers; Malon and Dawson Self both of Ohio, sisters; Rose Pettit of Wiersdale, Florida, Barbara Fry of Melbourne, Florida and Grace Rogers of Eustis, eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Denny Booth Young
November 22, 1932 - April 28, 2010

Denny B. Young, 77, of Eustis, husband, father, papaw, brother, proud Veteran and Korean War POW passed away April 28, 2010.

Denny was the son of Elmer Young and Golda Browning Young and was born in Matewan, West Virginia on November 22, 1932. At fourteen years of age he joined the Marine Corps and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served as a canoneer, was captured in Korea in 1951 and held Prisoner of War for 28 months. Denny was married to the love of his life Nelda Mae Taylor-Young for 50 years. They moved to Orlando in 1961.

Denny is survived by his wife Nelda Young, sisters Joyce Goff and Debby Fetty, brother Elmer Young, daughter Pamela Sue Young-Snell, step-daughter Sherry Johnson, granddaughters Lauren Copley-Nevels and Jennifer Johnson, grandson Jack Johnson, two great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved son John F. Young and his brother Keith.

Denny was proudly baptized in 2005. He walked his granddaughter Lauren down the aisle June 27, 2009 to be joined in matrimony with Dr. Joshua Nevels. Denny loved God, his family, friends, his country, old western movies, Country and Bluegrass music, visiting casinos, candy and traveling. He especially loved his POW comrades as brothers. He was Commander of Lake Monroe Chapter of American X POWs.

Visitation was in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Sunday, May 2, 2010. Services were in the First Baptist Church of Eustis Monday, May 3, 2010. Chaplain Norman Hale officiated. The service reconvened at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell for committal and Military Honors.

Robert F. Toadvine

Mr. Robert F. Toadvine, 71 of Mount Dora passed away on Saturday May 1, 2010. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved here in 1989, he was retired from food sales for Louis Dreyfus Citrus Products, Inc. of Winter Garden. Mr. Toadvine was Catholic and a Veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his children; Jerry (Laura) Toadvine of Westminster, Maryland and Sherry (Bernard) Frisbee of Ashaway, Rhode Island and six grandchildren.

Eugene Charles Ruhlman
June 22, 1913 - May 2, 2010

Mr. Eugene Charles Ruhlman, of Eustis, FL, passed away on Sunday, May 2nd, 2010 at the age of 96 years. A graveside inurnment will be held at a later date in Buffalo, NY. Arrangements are entrusted to Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Directors, Eustis, FL, 352-357-4193.

Edward M. Bruzelius
October 24, 1910 - May 5, 2010

Edward M. Bruzelius, 99, of Mount Dora passed away on Wednesday May 5, 2010. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas and moved here from Kissimmee in 1979. Mr. Bruzelius was a retired mechanical engineer for Standard Oil Company, a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis, a Veteran of WWII and the Korean War having served as a Lt. Commander in the United States Navy, a Mason and a member of the American Legion. He was predeceased by his wife Berniece Rodenbeck Bruzelius in 2002 and his son Paul E. Bruzelius in 2009.

Mr. Bruzelius is survived by his daughters; Carol A. Jones of Mount Dora and Joy B. Winer of Leicester, North Carolina, eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held in the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis on Saturday May 15, 2010. Those desiring may direct memorials to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road Tavares, FL 32778.

Charles K. Wheeler
November 16, 1919 - May 9, 2010

Charles K. Wheeler, age 90, of Tavares, FL passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2010. He was born in West Winfield, NY and moved to Lake County in 1982 from Rome, NY. Mr. Wheeler was a civil engineer and a veteran of the US Marine Corps, having served in the Pacific and China during WWII. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tavares, the Elks Lodge Tavares, and the Masonic Order in West Winfield, NY.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Estella C. Wheeler of Tavares, FL; son, Thomas C. (Alena) Wheeler of Westernville, NY; daughter, Susan E. Wheeler of Rome, NY; brother, Russell S. (Dona) Wheeler of Erie, PA; granddaughters, Allison Wheeler of Media, PA and Katherine Joaquim of VA.

Jay A. Hartsock
August 4, 1965 - May 12, 2010

Jay A. Hartsock, 44 of Lady Lake passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. He was born in Bloomington, Indiana and lived his entire life in Lady Lake. He was a heavy equipment mechanic, a Veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division, a Life member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife Mariane, his children Andrew Clayton Hartsock of Lady Lake, Adrienne Elaine Hartsock of Belleview, Angela (Jordon) Baker of Leesburg and Samantha (Luke) Holland of Lady Lake, his grandson Haiden Troy Baker of Leesburg, his parents, William and Nancy Hartsock of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, his brother Darrell Hartsock of Ocala, sister Lisa Hartsock Combs of Lady Lake and his nephew Cody Combs of Lady Lake.

Memorial Services were held Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 2 PM in the Church of Christ of Leesburg. In lieu of flowers please contact the family for information regarding Jay’s Memorial Fund.

Edith M. Roggelin
April 15, 1910 - May 17, 2010

Edith M. Roggelin, 100, of Umatilla passed away May 17, 2010. She was born April 15, 1910.

She was predeceased by her husband Clinton A. Roggelin, sons Eugene, Douglas and his wife Sharon. She is Survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Virginia Payne of Monroe, Michigan and her daughter in law Lillian Cornelius of Umatilla.

Services were held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Monday May 24, 2010, at 11 AM. Friends called from 10 AM until the funeral hour.
