Alexander F. Blair Sr.
Alexander F. Blair Sr., 81, Venice, died June 16, 2001.
He was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Bryn Mawr, Pa., and came to Venice nine years ago from Broomall, Pa. He was a member of Marple Presbyterian Church and a 25-year member of Masonic Lodge 744, both in Broomall.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Irene W.; two sons, Alexander F. Jr. of Maplewood, N.J., and Raymond W. of Newtown Square, Pa.; a daughter, Bobbie L. Lumley of Venice; six grandchildren; and a great- grandchild.
A private service will be later. Lemon Bay Funeral Home, Venice Chapel, is in charge.

Hans E. Lantzsch
JENSEN BEACH - Hans E. Lantzsch, 78, of Jensen Beach and Roscommon, Mich., died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at his Jensen Beach home.
A native of Krogia, Germany, he was a winter resident of Jensen Beach for 12 years.
Before retirement, he was the superintendent of schools in Roscommon, Mich., for over 30 years.
He served in the Army as a medic during World War II.
He was a member of Rotary International.
He was a graduate of the University of Michigan, Centeral Michigan University and Wayne State University and was a candidate for a doctorate in philosophy.
He enjoyed golfing and reading.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dora J. Lantzsch of Jensen Beach and Roscommon; two sons, James Lantzsch and wife Vickie of Kalamazoo, Mich., Thomas Lantzsch and Myrna of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Susan Lantzsch of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a brother, G. Christian Lantzsch of Sewickley, Pa.; a sister, Regina Mee of Louisville, Ky.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Aycock Funeral Home, Jensen Beach.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in the funeral home chapel.

Ruth Jones
Ruth Jones, 96, Sarasota, died June 19, 2001.
She was born March 1, 1905, in Chicago and came to Sarasota 22 years ago from Oak Park, Ill. She was a homemaker and a member of Temple Emanu-El.
Survivors include a daughter, Sally Bogolub of Las Vegas; a son, Alan L. of Highland Park, Ill.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. July 3 at Temple Emanu-El. Burial was in Palms Memorial Park.

Elsa M. Joyce
Elsa M. Joyce, 87, Sarasota, died June 20, 2001.
She was born May 25, 1914, in West Newton, Mass., and came to Sarasota in 1978 from Hartford, Conn. She was an interior decorator and a member of Church of the In-carnation.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen J. Driscoll of Sarasota and Jane White of Annapolis, Md.; and a brother, Donald Jepsen of Foxboro, Mass.
A memorial service will be later. Inurnment will be at Church of the Incarnation. National Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter, is in charge.

June S. Kuhlthau
June S. Kuhlthau, 80, Sarasota, died June 20, 2001.
She was born March 18, 1921, in Milltown, N.J., and came to Sarasota in 1998. She retired as an executive secretary at Personal Products and Carter-Wallace Corp. in Milltown. She graduated Berkley Business School, East Orange, N.J., and was a member of Milltown Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Carlton; a daughter, Lynn Thompson of Sarasota; and a brother, Earl B. Seaman of Tacoma, Wash.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at 6115 Misty Oaks St., Sarasota. Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home is in charge.

John M. Malone
John M. Malone, 82, Sarasota, died June 20, 2001.
He was born June 29, 1918, in Schenectady, N.Y., and came to Sarasota 16 years ago from Miami. He retired in 1975 as a communication specialist at General Electric, Schenectady. He was a 1939 graduate of Union College, Schenectady. He was a member of the Jazz Club and St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jane Hurley.
No local visitation is scheduled. Services and burial will be in New York. A memorial service will be later in Sarasota. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is in charge.

A. Leroy Murtland, 93, Sarasota, died June 20, 2001.
He was born Aug. 23, 1907, in Chicora, Pa., and came to Sarasota in 1975 from there. He was a stationary engineer for Linde Corp. for 30 years. He was a Protestant.
Survivors include a son, Gary of Sarasota; and a grandchild.
Inurnment will be in Chicora. National Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter, is in charge.
