Florence L. Parks
Florence Lewis Parks, 89, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Friday, April 14, 2006.
She was born
Feb. 18, 1917, in Capital Heights, Md.
She moved to Florida in 1948.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles and attending Bible study at Pine Creek Chapel.
She was also a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda (Ernie) Taylor of Arcadia; one son, James (Mary) Sheppard of Arcadia; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Rich) Starweski, Holly Parker, Clarence (Tina) Dubose, James Dubose, Shane (Cindy) Dubose, Misty Dubose, Shawn Dubose and Elizabeth (Calvin) Newberry; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, Brooke Dubose.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Robarts Funeral Home in Arcadia, with services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Nauman of Pine Creek Chapel officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pine Creek Chapel Building Fund, 1267 S.W. Pine Chapel Drive, Arcadia, FL 34266.

Jack J. Ortolani
Jack J. Ortolani, 83, of Fayetteville, N.Y., passed away at his home Saturday, March 18, 2006.
He was born
Nov. 18, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Jack was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as a Grand Knight, VFW and Elks Club in Herkimer, N.Y., and Port Charlotte, Fla.
He was the owner and operator of Jacks Jewelers as a jeweler and watchmaker in Herkimer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Michelina Ortolani, in 1986.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Anna (Rice) Ortolani; son, Alfred (Barbara) Ortolani, of Long Island, N.Y.; daughter, Susan (James) Blasting of Fayetteville, N.Y.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred Ortolani of New Jersey and Robert Ortolani of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, in Port Charlotte, at a later date.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, N.Y. 13088-6148.
National Cremation of Syracuse, N.Y., is in charge of arrangements.
MaryLou Radil
MaryLou (Leek) "Grandma Lou" Radil, 49, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2006.
She was born
Jan. 9, 1957, in Millville, N.J.
MaryLou moved to Port Charlotte in 1975.
She worked for many years for the Charlotte County School Board at the Punta Gorda Middle School Champs Café.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family, including husband, Michael Radil Sr.; sons, Mike Jr., Tony and Blake Radil; father, Howard Leek of Chicago, Ill.; brother, Howard (Sheri) Leek of Illinois; sisters, Bonnie Jack of Texas, Karen (Greg) Hardesty and Kathy Leek, both of Florida; grandchildren, Jonathan, Matya, Milana, Mallory and Madison; brothers-in-law, Anthony (Heather) Radil and William (Denise) Radil; aunt, Shirley Mettetal of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.
The family invites friends to join them in a celebration of MaryLou's life from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Bissett Park in Tropical Gulf Acres, Punta Gorda.

Mary H. Guterding
Mary Helen Guterding, 81, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte.
She was born
Dec. 11, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Mrs. Guterding moved to the Port Charlotte area 33 years ago from Penn Hills, Pa.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Women's American Legion Auxiliary Post 110, Port Charlotte and Women of the Moose Lodge 1619, Port Charlotte.
She also attended the Presbyterian church.
Mrs. Guterding was a devoted housewife and mother, and is survived by her children, John (Lilly) Caruthers, James (Denise) Caruthers, both of Port Charlotte, Edward (Brenda) Caruthers, Joanne Schultz (Earl Norton), both of Punta Gorda, Fla., Daniel (Shelly) Caruthers of St. Petersburg, Fla., Leslie (Richard) Secola of Irwin, Pa., and Janet L. (Wade) Cartee of Arcadia, Fla.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Russell L. Ralston
Russell L. Ralston, 43, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006.
He was born
Feb. 27, 1962, in Akron, Ohio.
Russell moved to Port Charlotte from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, 20 years ago.
He was a landscaper for Apollyon, and he was a member of Lakeside Lutheran Church.
Russell is survived by his wife of 15 years, Grace Ralston of Port Charlotte; one stepson, John Sauer of Port Charlotte; one son, Kyle Ralston of Port Charlotte; his father, Richard L. Ralston Sr. of Monroe Falls, Ohio, and his wife, Jan; two sisters, Lee Ann (James) Hipp and Jeanette Boyes, both of Akron; two brothers, Richard L. (Susan) Ralston Jr. of Port Charlotte and Ronald L. Ralston of Akron; one grandson, Peyton; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, with a service at 7 p.m.

John H. Corrier
John Homer Corrier, 87, of Rotonda West, Fla., passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Englewood Community Hospital in Englewood, Fla.
He was born
Jan. 11, 1919, in Ashland, Wis.
John was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp.
During his 36-year career with Wolfe Industries in Columbus, Ohio, he served as chief pilot and director of aviation.
John retired to Rotonda West more than 30 years ago.
He was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his son, Scott (Jodi) Corrier, and granddaughter, Kacie Corrier, all of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy, in 2003.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at the American Legion Post 113 in Rotonda West.

Thomas E. Killeen
Thomas E. Killeen, 74, of Rotonda West, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006.
He was born
Dec. 4, 1931, in Pittsfield, Mass., and was the son of Ambrose T. and Florence E. Coty Killeen.
Mr. Killeen served in the U.S. Naval Reserves for 16 years.
He was employed at General Electric Co. in Cape Kennedy, Fla., and then he worked at the Raytheon Co., quality management department, in Portsmouth, R.I., retiring in 1993.
Mr. Killeen moved to the Englewood area as a winter resident in 1990 from Wickford, R.I. He was of the Episcopal faith.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathleen; daughters, Barbara Bunker of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Susan Collard of Concord, Calif., and Kellie Perdue of Aurora, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Dawley Killeen; daughter, Patricia A. Cloud; sons, Thomas E. Killeen Jr. and Keith E. Killeen.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at the Chapel of Peace at Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood.

Betty J. Beerbower
Betty J. Beerbower, 82, of North Port, Fla., passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006.
She was born
May 8, 1923, in McKeesport, Pa.
Betty was an elementary school teacher at Toughkenamon Elementary School.
She received her bachelor's degree in education at the University of Pittsburgh, Pa., where she was affiliated with the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Mrs. Beerbower was a member of the Kenneth Square Country Club in Kenneth Square, Pa.
She moved to the North Port area with her husband, William, in 1984 from Toughkenamon, Pa.
She was a member of the Ladies of Lutheran Church of the Living Waters in North Port.
She was a past member of the Sabal Trace Golf and Country Club of North Port.
Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, William; daughter, Linda Burke of Pittsburgh; and son, W. Robert Beerbower of Peachtree City, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at Lutheran Church of the Living Waters in North Port.
