Elaine J. Trupiano
Elaine Jean (Corsetti) Trupiano, 71, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005.
She was born
June 16, 1934, in Michigan.
Elaine married Charles Trupiano on July 18, 1954. They raised their family in Garden City, Mich., and retired to Port Charlotte in 1984. Mrs. Trupiano was known to be Tampa General Hospital's 116th heart transplant on Feb. 12, 1991. Elaine will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by five children, Chuck, Steve (Jackie), Tony, Susan and Thomas (Sandy); 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Sandra; and brothers, Michael and Larry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in April 2004.

Margaret E. Winchester
Margaret Ellen (Thompson) Winchester, 91, of Chapman Lake, Warsaw, Ind. and formerly of Oak View Park, Arcadia, Fla., died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005.
She was born
Oct. 5, 1913, in Indianapolis, Ind.
Margaret retired in 1971 as a physician's secretary in Indianapolis. She lived in Oak View Park in Arcadia from 1986 until 2004. She attended First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Winchester; and daughter, Karen Lee Bennett, West Linn, Ore.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Sue Brehob, Syracuse, Ind.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at the Ponger-Kays-Grady Chapel, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave, Arcadia.
She will be buried next to her husband at Joshua Creek Cemetery in Arcadia.

Harold Christensen
Harold Christensen, 86, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005.
He was born
Jan. 7, 1919, in North Bergen, N.J.
Mr. Christensen graduated from New York University and St. Lawrence University Law School. He served in World War II from 1941 to 1946, in the U.S. Army Infantry, in North Africa and Europe. He was a member of the 29th Division, 116th Regiment, and 111 Field Artillery during the D-Day Omaha Beach Invasion. Mr. Christensen received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart with clusters. He served as Provost Marshall in Norway and was decorated by the Norwegian Government with the St. Olav's Medal for distinguished service. He was released from active duty with the rank of Major. Mr. Christensen was the Chief Executive Officer of AFIA (American Foreign Insurance Association - Worldwide Insurance). He was the director of Paribas North America Corporation, N.Y., director of the National Foreign Trade Council, chairman of the International Finance Committee, and U.S. Representative "Rendez-Vous de Septembre," Monte Carlo. He was trustee of the College of Insurance, director of Wayne General Hospital, fellow with the Financial Analysts Federation, member of the New York Society of Security Analysts, and member of the Union League Club of New York, N.Y. Harold was a long-time member, supporter and volunteer of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Glen Rock, N.J. for many years and the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Port Charlotte, Fla. He lived in Allendale, N.J., for many years before moving to Punta Gorda, 23 years ago. He was also a member of the Isles Yacht Club, Punta Gorda.
He is survived by his beloved children, Linda Louise Fagerstrom of Bernardsville, N.J. and Gail Christensen Palminteri of Franklin Lakes, N.J. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mildred Bertha Timm Christensen in 2004; and his sister, Alice Josephine Christensen in 2003.
A memorial service of remembrance celebrating Harold's life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 233 South Highwood Avenue, Glen Rock, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Wayne E. Bickel
Wayne Earl Bickel, 70, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005 at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte.
He was born
Dec. 9, 1934, in Elkhart, Ind.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired ladies apparel salesman. Mr. Bickel moved to Port Charlotte from Warrenville, Ill., five years ago. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 2152 and Moose Lodge 2121 of Port Charlotte. He was a Methodist.
He is survived by a daughter, June Ann Gray of Machesney Park, Ill.; a son, Jay A. Bickel of Port Charlotte; two half-sisters, Deena Silverman of Niles, Ill., and Donna Bickel of Oak Park, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Danica and Tyler Gray.
Visitation for family and friends was Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at Roberson Funeral Home Funeral Home Port Charlotte. Memorial services and interment in Grace Lawn Cemetery will be held at a later date in Elkhart.

Ruth M. Stewart
Ruth M. Stewart, 82, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Friday, Dec. 02, 2005, at Charlotte Harbor Healthcare in Port Charlotte.
She was born
Aug. 20, 1923, in Wadsworth, Ohio. She was a retired beautician. She moved to Port Charlotte from Canton, Ohio, in 1981. She was a former member of Peace Lutheran Church in Port Charlotte, where she was active in the Ladies Guild.
She is survived by four daughters, Susie (Don) Randolph of Lake Suzy, Fla., Sally Anne Gambrel of Clearwater, Fla., Sandy (David) Auler of Raleigh, N.C. and Sydney Sher of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Smith and Betty Ahl of Wadsworth; a brother, Ken Flood of Wadsworth; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Stewart, in 2002.

William Eugene Stout
William Eugene Stout, 94, of Grundy Center, Iowa, and formerly of Punta Gorda, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at Grundy Care Center in Iowa.
He was born
Nov. 8, 1911, in rural Grundy Center, the son of Orlen and Maye Stout.
William graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1928. He retired from General Motors in Detroit, Mich. He married Irene(Aman) Stout on Sept. 24, 1994, and he was a charter member of the Isles Yacht Club in Punta Gorda.
William is survived by his wife, Irene; a niece, Mary Camille ( Terry) Irons; and his great-niece, Landon (Robert) Wrather, and her two children. William was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Hazel; and a brother, Donald.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at United Methodist Church, Grundy Center. There will be a private family Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center, at a later date.

Joseph D. Tomanio Jr.
Joseph D. Tomanio Jr., 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at Peace River Medical Center in Port Charlotte.
He was born
Jan. 17, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Army and fought in World War II. He was a retired produce manager for Thorofare Markets in Pittsburgh. He moved to Port Charlotte from Pittsburgh in 1987. Joseph was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tanya Tomanio of Port Charlotte; a daughter, Terri Tomanio of Port Charlotte; three brothers, Charles Tomanio of Port Charlotte, and Robert Tomanio and Paul Tomanio, both of Pittsburgh.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. A Mass of christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Port Charlotte. Interment with military honors by the U.S. Army will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.

Kenneth H. Groh
Kenneth Howard "Ken" Groh, 79, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, in Miami, Fla.
He was born
July 22, 1926, in Wilmington, Del.
Ken served in the U.S. Army Ordinance during the Korean War. After his military service he pursued attaining his degree in industrial education at the University of Delaware. He retired as a master machinist and tool and die maker with Speakman Plumbing Fixture Co. in Wilmington. He spent the second half of his career teaching machine shop, mechanical technology and metallurgy at the Williamson Free School in Media, Pa.
Ken moved to Port Charlotte in 1986. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church of Port Charlotte, and he was a former officer in the Sons of the American Revolution. He was also a lifetime member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the Charlotte County Genealogical Society. Ken was a lifelong sport fisherman who lived for his summer vacations in Cape May, N.J.
Ken is survived by a daughter, Barbara Meyer, R.N., of Clarkesville, Ga.; a son, K. Randall Groh, D.D.S. of Coral Gables, Fla.; five well-loved grandchildren, Timothy Honderick, D.O., Christopher Honderick, a commercial pilot, and Allison, Amy and Jacob Groh; and a great-grandson, Nate Honderick.
Committal services and private inurnment will be held at the St. James Episcopal Church columbarium.

Ferdinand V. Della Piana
Ferdinand V. "Fred" Della Piana, 90, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Fla.
He was born
March 15, 1915, in Boston, Mass.
Fred was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. For decades he was a government inspector of ordinance and worked on aspects of the Nike guided missile and the NASA space program. During his 35-year retirement he divided his time in Florida and Massachusetts working on tax preparations and scoring well with his weekly bowling league.
Fred is survived by his Loving daughters, Elissa of Wenham, Mass., and Patricia of Clearwater, Fla.; grandchildren, Harper, David, Marla and Jennifer; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday Dec. 3, 2005, at Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte. Burial will be held at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery in Malden, Mass.

Arthur J. Kelley Sr.
Arthur James Kelley Sr., 85, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005.
He was born
Dec. 31, 1919, in Bartonville, Ohio.
Arthur was a decorated U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Kearny and the USS Cleveland. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and was known to be the first graduate of Glassboro State College's (Rowan University) industrial arts program. He resided in Williamstown for more than 40 years, and served as a president of the American Legion Post 252 and was also elected to the town council. Arthur earned a teaching degree and began a career at Delsea Regional High School and then taught industrial arts at Washington Township High School. He was a member of the NJSIAA and inducted into the Coaches Hall of Fame, and was honored at the Woodbury Relays for his dedication to the sport of track and field. Arthur enjoyed spending time with his family at his summer home in Ocean City, N.J.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor Kelley; his children, Arthur Jr. (Linda), Veronica, Denise and Celeste Mauriello; grandchildren, Naomi (Cy) Delmont, Arthur J. (Karen) Kelley III, Tammy(Greg) Giannone and Brad Mauriello; great-grandchild, Chancellor; and special friend and caregiver, Elsie Williams.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be sent to The Arthur J. Kelley Sr. Track Scholarship Fund.

Virginia Martin
Virginia Martin, 87, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care in Venice, Fla.
She was born
Sept. 21, 1918, in Suffern, N.Y., to Charles Leroy and Mary Elizabeth Vanderbilt Trumper.
Mrs. Martin worked as an inspector for the Avon Cosmetic Company in Suffern. She moved to the Punta Gorda area in 1974 from Suffern.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Catherine Conaway of Punta Gorda, Virginia Lee Lephart of Ames, Iowa, Etta May Riefler of Charlotte, N.C., and Catherine Olsen of Upper Montclair, N.J.; sister, Mabel Trumper of Punta Gorda; grandchildren, Thomas Conaway, Andrew Conaway, Daniel Conaway,
Jerri-Lynne Kirkland, Mary Elizabeth Wolfe, Michael Lephart, Holly Jones, Jeffrey Riefler, Laura Hill and Christopher Olsen; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, in 1989.

Martha R. Milne
Martha Rose Milne, 79, of Punta Gorda, Fla., died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Fla.
She was born
June 24, 1926, in Danville, Ill.
Mrs. Milne began wintering in Punta Gorda in 1993 from Steger, Ill. She was of the Lutheran faith.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Milne of Punta Gorda; two sons, Larry Riley of Vacaville, Calif., and Donald Riley of Decatur, Ala.; a sister, Thelma Jaeneke of Chicago Heights, Ill.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The visitation and service were held on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at the Port Charlotte chapel of Roberson Funeral Home. Interment will be at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, Ill.

Janice A. Lewey
Janice A. Lewey, 59, of Arcadia, Fla., died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.
She was born
Nov. 24, 1946, in Northville, Mich., to Paul and Gertrude (Fulton) Alberts.
Mrs. Lewey served in the U.S. Army. She moved to the Arcadia area 20 years ago from Hawaii. She worked at the Wal-Mart in Arcadia for eight years. Her husband was Paul H. Lewey Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Paul III of Arcadia and Noah (Katy) of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; daughters, Wendy Lewey of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Janet (Brian) Klotzbier of Port St. Lucie; her mother, Gertrude Fowler of Punta Gorda, Fla.; stepfather, Harold Erickson of Portland, Ore.; brothers, Paul (Sandy) Alberts of Canton, Mich., and Sheldon (Kim) Alberts of Punta Gorda; sisters, Janet (Robert) Stachowski of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Eva (Edward) Lowe of Arcadia; grandchildren, Jasmine and Brian Klotzbier Jr. and Aidan and Hannah Lewey of Port St. Lucie.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at First Baptist Church of Nocatee, Fla.
