Mr. Gregory W. Simes

Gregory William Simes, passed away on November 28, 2012.

Greg was born icon November 13, 1963 in Derry, NH. He was a resident of Milton, NH until the family moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1976. He graduated from Manatee High School 1982. Greg enlisted in the Air Force in 1982 and served until 1985. Greg worked for years at Simes-Sutton Associates until his father retired.

Greg was proceeded in death by his parents Judy & Bruce Simes and his brother Durk Simes. He is survived by his brother Darren Simes and Darren's wife Kim Simes of Waxhaw, Nc, 2 nieces and 3 nephews; Tiffany Simes of Bradenton, FL, Joey Simes of Midland, NC, Justin Simes of Monroe, NC, Brooklyn Simes of Waxhaw, NC, Hunter Simes of Jacksonville, FL.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 6:00pm at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave W. Bradenton, Fl

Mrs. Marguritte "Peggy" E. McLean

Marguritte "Peggy" E. McLean, 92, of Bradenton, passed away on Novenber 27, 2013.

Marguritte was predeceased by her beloved husband; Walter L. McLean and sister; Corrinne E. Wood. She is survived by her brother; Charles W. Edwards Jr. (Gerry), two nephews, four nieces, six great nephews and seven great neices.

Marguritte moved to the area in 1921 and was a physical education teacher. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Private family services. She is laid to rest with her husband at Mansion Memorial Park.

Mrs. Peggy R. Woolford

Peggy R. Woolford, 87, of Bradenton, passed away on November 24, 2013. Peggy is survived by her children; Michael Rabinette of Bradenton, Scott (Laura) Rabinette of North Port, Monte (Trudy) Ballard of Mooresville NC, Donald (Paulette) Rabinette of Traverse City MI, and Susan (Charles) Hartman of Myakka City and many grandchildren. Peggy was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved and addored her Maltisse dog, Meggie. Together they were greeters at Westminster Manor. Peggy loved everyone, both the staff and the residents, and she was loved in return. She will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 2:00pm at Westminster Manor Chapel, 1700 21st Ave W Bradenton.

Lt. Col. Harry C. Christensen

Lt. Col. Harry C. Christensen, USAF-Retired, 92, Bradenton, passed away Nov. 24, 2013. He was born icon Jan. 25, 1921 in Rocky River, OH to the late Harry & Elva (DeMark) Christensen.

Harry served as a pilot with the U.S. Air Force during WWII, Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era, retiring with over 20 years of service, and was recipient of many medals, awards and citations. He has been a resident of Bradenton since 2003 coming from Summerville, SC, and was a Methodist.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Robin in 2003 and a brother Donald. Survived by his three daughters; Sandra (John) Eckhardt of Naples, Susan of Tampa, Marylou Pollard of Durango, CO, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation 10-11 A.M. on Wed., Nov. 27, 2013 with services to follow at 11:00 A.M. at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th St. W., Bradenton. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with full military honors by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.

Mrs. Betty Jane Unger Johnston Williams

Betty Jane Unger Johnston Williams was born icon March 1, 1931, the youngest of four, in Soo Chun, South Korea to missionary parents. Returning to the U.S. at age nine, her family settled in their home state of Mississippi where her father was a Presbyterian pastor in West Point. She completed high school there and attended Belhaven College for three years before entering Old Miss for her final year. She met Edgar Johnston there, an aspiring young law student; they were married and moved to Bradenton in 1953 for him to join a law firm while she held secretarial and bookkeeping positions.

The Johnston family increased in love when first a daughter and then a son joined their family, keeping Betty very busy and happy in their activities, their church and community. Ed Johnston died of cancer in 1970 and Betty placed a cross in the church choir loft in memory of him. Seven years later she married Charles Williams of Meridian, MS who she met through her parents. Charlie brought a daughter and son into Betty's family. After a brief time in Memphis, TN, the Williams moved back to Betty's home in Bradenton.

Betty and both of her husbands were pillars of First Presbyterian Church where she served as circle leader, teacher, choir member, member of the building committee, and elder. She was renowned for her many floral arrangements that adorned the church in all seasons. She received an honorary lifetime membership in the Presbyterian Women.

Second only to her children, Betty's involvement in church and community were of great importance to her. She was a lifetime member of Entre Nous Club and Service Club of Manatee Co., The Collector's for forty-three years, and a Sustaining Member of Bradenton's Junior League. She met with her weekly Bridge Club until illness kept her from attending.

Betty lost her battle with pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema on November 19, 2013. In addition to her two husbands, Betty is predeceased in death by her parents, Dr. James Kelly and Eoline Smith Unger, a sister, Martha U. Hill, and a brother, Langdon S. Unger. She is survived by a brother, James Kelly Unger, Jr. West Point, MS, her devoted children, Julie E. Johnston of Hattiesburg, MS and Allan U. Johnston of Bradenton, attentive stepson, Charles Randall Williams of Denver, Colorado and stepdaughter, Becky W. Hart of Denver, Colorado, two sisters-in-law, six grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews, fifteen great-nieces and nephews, and copious friends throughout Bradenton. Her abiding faith, unique sense of humor, gifts of organization and design, compassion and love touched the lives of everyone who knew her and will be grieved and remembered by all.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 P.M. on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. A celebration of Betty's life will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, 1402 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. Private family committal will take place at Mansion Memorial Park, Ellenton.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church in her memory.

Robert Lee Hunter

Robert L. Hunter, 59, of Bradenton, passed away on November 11, 2013.

Robert is survived by his son; Andre Hunter, mother; Helen Randall, brothers; Isaiah Smith, Ivory Randall, Carlton Randall, Lawerance Randall, and Chester Randall, sisters; Iris Brown, Bertha Bibbins, Faye Randall and favorite cousin Betty Farlow-Green.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 22, 2013 from 5:00-7:00pm at Truth Bible Church of God, 726 12th St E. Bradenton. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 1:00pm at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 525 Martin Luther King Ave. E. Bradenton.

Mr. Timothy Stanton

Timothy Stanton, 62, Bradenton, woke up in the arms of Jesus on Nov. 18, 2013. He was born icon on Aug. 30, 1951 in North Tonawanda, NY.

Timothy was a graduate of the Tonawanda High School, where he then served with the U.S. Army during the Vietname War. Following his military service he went on to further his education and received his Associates Degree from Bryant and Stratton Business Institute in Buffalo, NY. While living in Tonawanda he served as the Worship Director for the Community Christian Church, and was Treasurer for SonRays Ministries. He worked for over 20 years with the Jackson Hewitt Corporation writing and teaching tax information to franchise owners, and was an enrolled agent with the I.R.S. and member of the National Association of Tax Professionals.

He moved to Bradenton in 2004 and was an active member and served as an Elder of the Church of the Cross in Bradenton.

Timothy was predeceased by his mother, Ruth Helen (Walker) Stanton, and is survived by his loving wife of 44 yrs, Paula Schultz Stanton of Bradenton, three dear daughters; Dawn Stanton Brownwell of Warner Robins, GA, Holly Stanton Morgan of Fredericksburg, VA, Saundra Stanton Siebersma of Lander, WY, his devoted father and step-mother; Merwin and Carole Stanton of Wimauma, FL, brother, David Stanton of Clearwater, FL, sister, Janet Walker of Kuttawa, KY, thirteen precious grandchildren, father and mother-in-law; Clarence and Marion Schultz of Tonawanda, NY and many brothers and sisters in Christ.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday Nov. 20, 2013 at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th St. W., Bradenton. A celebration of Timothy's life will be held at 6 P.M. on Thursday, Nov.21, 2013 at the Church of the Cross, 5051 26th St. W., Bradenton, with private committal services at Sarasota National Cemetery with final honors by the U.S. Army.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Music/IT Department of the Church of the Cross in his memory.

Mr. Robert Edward Hensley, Jr.

Robert Edward Hensley, Jr. was born icon in Bradenton on February 5, l960 and joined his Heavenly father and his earthly father, the late Judge Robert E. Hensley Sr., in heaven on November 5, 2013. He is survived by his mother, Mavis Hensley, sisters; Susan Jones of Moore Haven, FL, Sarah Hornsby of Parrish, Carol Day of Penngrove, CA and brother Alan Hensley of Parrish. He is also survived by four nephews, three nieces, one great nephew, two great nieces and special friend, Brenda Hunt. Ed graduated from Manatee High School in 1978, University of South Florida in 1998 and Baylor Law School in 1999. He practiced law in North Carolina before returning to Bradenton. His God-given talent was music and he was active in the New Village Church music department. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th St. W., Bradenton with a Celebration of life service to follow at 11:00 A.M. Services will be conducted by Rev. Ken Gill, pastor of New Village Church. Memorial donations may be made to New Village Church, P.O. Box 2860, Sarasota, FL. 34230.

Mr. Tim O. Walbolt

Tim O. Walbolt, 65 of Palmetto, died Sept. 28, 2013. Private committal services at Sarasota National Cemetery. Arrangements by Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, Bradenton.

Cathy A. McMahon

Cathy A. McMahon, 42, of St. Petersburg, passed away on November 11, 2013.

Cathy is survived by a loving family and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 from 2:00-4:00pm with a Mass of Christian Burial commencing at 4:00pm at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th St W. Bradenton Fl.

Mr. Charles C. Boyd

Charles C. Boyd, 62, Sarasota (Manatee Cty), died Nov. 3, 2013. He owned and operated his own marine construction business, was an Honorary Manatee County Deputy Sheriff, avid treasure hunter and scuba diver. Survived by his wife, Marcia, two sons; Scott Allen of Waycross, GA, James Brown of Honolulu, HI, sister-in-law; Sue Holland of Bradenton, sister, Melinda Luce of Bradenton, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and three nephews; Jeremy, Justin and Nathan Bass, and two nieces; Courtney and Gabrielle Luce, and many extended family members. Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Sat. Nov. 16, 2013 at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
