Ms. Gail Ann Bucci
Gail Ann Bucci, 57, of Ellenton, left this world April 8th, 2013.
Gail was born
on Nov. 14th, 1955 in Malden MA. Gail moved to Sarasota/Bradenton in January of 1994. She was an inspiration to and group leader of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association Support Group of Sarasota and the surrounding areas. Gail was also an active member of the Unity Church of Sarasota.
Gail is survived by her son; Joseph of Palmetto, mother, Jean DeMarco of Ellenton, father and step-mother; Ralph and Jean Rudolph of Ocala, brother Mark Rudolph of Dunnellon, sister Lisa Settembrino of AL, granddaughter Jacynda Gail Bucci of Palmetto, Nephew Michael DeMarco and great niece Haley DeMarco of NH; and many close friends.
A celebration of Gail's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Unity Church of Sarasota, 3023 Proctor Road, Sarasota, FL.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, 801 Roeder Road, Suite 1000, Silver Springs, MD 20910 in her memory.
Mrs. Jane Moffett Burd
Jane Moffett Burd, 96, Bradenton, passed away April 4, 2013. She was born
on Nov. 21, 1916 in Lexington, KY to the late Emmett and Myrtle (Blake) Crawford. Jane moved to Bradenton in 1970 coming from New Jersey. She was retired from the Manatee County Sheriff's office as a School Crossing Guard. Jane was predeceased by her four sisters, and one brother, and is survived by her daughter Carol Burd of Bradenton, one grandson, Christopher Lee Dudley of Bradenton, five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Private services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Andrew Whitley Barnett
Andrew Whitley Barnett, 32, Bradenton, passed away on April 3, 2013 at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. Andrew was born
on December 12, 1980 in LaGrange, Georgia to James M. and Barbara (Amos) Barnett. He moved to Bradenton two years ago coming from Atlanta, GA, and worked as an Assistant Property Manager in Manatee and Hillsborough County. He was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Barnett and is survived by his sister, Sarah Britney Barnett of Bradenton, and many close friends. A celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton.
Bishop Ben H. Eason
Bishop Ben H. Eason, age 73, a long time member of the community, received his promotion to glory, Monday April 1, 2013. He was preceded in death by a Grandson, SPC Patrick Lewis Lay II, having given the ultimate sacrifice, August 11, 2011. He is survived by his Wife Carolyn S. Eason of Bradenton, Daughter and Son in law Stefenie and Arturo Hernandez of Bradenton, His son and daughter in law Dale and Patricia Eason of Bradenton. Granddaughters: Nikki Lay, Alisha Eason, Adrianna Eason, and Analeya Hernandez all of Bradenton. Grandson: Anthony Eason of Bradenton. Brother: Bobby Eason of Lily, FL. He is also survived by his extended family which includes virtually everyone he has ever met. His life is marked by his faithfulness to everything he was involved in. As a minister he held several positions for the United Pentecostal Church of Florida, He served on a sectional level as Sunday School director, He served as Sunday School secretary and director in the Florida District for more than ten years, and most recently 14 years as a member of the Florida District Board, serving as the presbyter of South West Florida, section seven. He was also an Assistant Pastor and Pastor in Bradenton in what is now Life Covenant Sanctuary for over 40 years. He had a long career as a Produce manager for Publix Super Mkt. and retired after nearly 30 years to work full time in ministry. He also served two years in the US Navy. Services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 with visitation open to the public at 11am and the Going Home Service will be at 1pm, at Life Covenant Sanctuary, 5428 39th Street East, Bradenton, FL, 34203. Joseph C. Frost
Joseph C. Frost, 77, of Lake Placid Fl, passed away on October 30, 2013.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, brother Theodore and two sisters; Joyce and Sandra.
Joseph honorably served in the US Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He retired from United Technology, where he worked on the Space Shuttle.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 @ 1:30 pm at Sarasota National Cemetery.
Mrs. Matilde Dolores Rosa
Matilde Dolores Rosa, 78 de Bradenton, falleció el 28 de octubre de 2013 en el centro médico de Largo en Largo, Florida.
Matilde nació el 14 de marzo de 1935 en Aquadilla, Puerto Rico a la tarde Julio Rosa y Rosa Barreto. Se mudó a Florida procedentes de Puerto Rico hace más de 15 ańos. Ella era una ama de casa y asistió a la iglesia católica del sagrado corazón en Bradenton.
Ella es sobrevivida por sus cinco hijos; Iván, Gilberto, Miralla, Heriberto, Heran y Bennie Torres, hija, Linette Miralla, 16 nietos, dos bisnietos y muchos extendieron, amigos y familiares.

Mrs. Matilde Dolores Rosa
Matilde Dolores Rosa, 78 of Bradenton, passed away on October 28, 2013 at the Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida.
Matilde was born
on March 14, 1935 in Aquadilla, Puerto Rico to the late Julio Rosa and Rosa Barreto. She moved to Florida over 15 years ago coming from Puerto Rico. She was a homemaker and attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bradenton.
She is survived by her five sons; Ivan, Gilberto, Miralla, Heriberto, Heran and Bennie Torres, daughter, Linette Miralla, sixteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bradenton with the Reverend Salvator Stefula T.O.R. officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, Bradenton.
Mrs. Luvenia Brooks Scott
Luvenia (Lu) Scott (nee Brooks) died October 21, 2013 at Tidewell Hospice House in Bradenton Fl.
She was born
in Collegeville, Pa on June 24, 1922 to Carrye F. and Claude G Brooks. She was married to David B. Scott who died in 1995. She was also predeceased by a son, Jeffrey and by sisters Georgia and Geraldine and brother Lee.
She is loved and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Jill Jenkins, of Maryland, and son David, of New Jersey; son-in-law, Joseph, and granddaughters, Lauren Maxwell and Beth Jenkins, also of Maryland.
She was a graduate of Ursinus College, with a degree in physical education, and taught school in Pasadena and Chula Vista, Ca.
The family lived in Brussels, Belgium for 10 years while her husband, Dave, worked for Biscuits Delacre and Godiva Chocolates. She spoke fluent French.
She moved to Florida after having lived in Moorestown, NJ for 30 years. She resided in Perico Bay Club until she moved to Freedom Village in 2003.
She was a voracious reader of books and newspapers and loved doing crossword puzzles. She also was an artist, creating both paintings and sculptures, and at one time was also an accomplished sewer.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 17, 2013 in the Auditorium at Freedom Village in Bradenton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests, donations be made in her memory to the Freedom Village Scholarship Fund, or to Tidewell Hospice. Arrangements by Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel.
Mr. Brett Alexander Motlow
Brett Alexander Motlow, 22 of Palmetto, passed away October 15, 2013. Brett was born
on September 30, 1991 in Bradenton, Florida and was a lifelong resident of Manatee County.
Brett attended Palmetto Christian School and graduated from Palmetto High School. Brett also completed Automotive Technology at MTI, but went on to work as a landscape technician at Mike Armstrong Landscaping for five years where he fulfilled his enjoyment of working with horticulture which was a long family tradition.
He was loved by many and will be missed dearly. He is survived by his father; John Motlow of Bradenton, mother, Melonie Gough of Palmetto, step-father Tom Gough of Palmetto, brother Cory Gough of Palmetto paternal grandparents; Dudley Motlow, Charlotte Underwood of Ellenton, and Donna Motlow of Dunnellon, FL, maternal grandparents; Mike and Patty Armstrong and Scott and Patty Heist all of Manatee County, maternal great-grandparents; Nancy Blick of Suwannee, FL, Claire Rhodes and Charles and Sue Heist of Palmetto and many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Brett's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Palmetto with his Uncle Rev. Martin Armstrong officiating.
