Mr. Randall Lloyd Bare
Randall Lloyd Bare, Age 77, passed 12-27-2012.
He is survived by his wife Rose Quin-Bare, his sister in-laws Lorraine Mazza, Roberta Ramirez, Carol Frasca and Charlene Mazza, his brother in laws, Frank Frasca, Claude Mazza, Atry Mazza, also his step-children Jackie Cate and Kelly Quin his three grandchildren, Rachael Cate, Caitlin Kos and Clint William Kos.

Brent and Julia Robinson
Brent Robinson, 30, and Julia L. Caldwell Robinson, 29 of Bradenton, passed away Dec. 24, 2012 in Kentucky in a tragic car accident that also took the lives of her parents, Gary and Patricia Caldwell of Putney, KY.
Brent was born
on Oct. 26, 1982 and had been a resident of Bradenton for most of his life, graduating from Manatee High School, where he was a member of the baseball team, and the University of South Florida with a degree in computer science. He was currently employed as a software developer for Emerson in Bradenton.
Brent was an avid baseball fan, golfer and member of the Bradenton Golf Association and fantasy sports competitor with his Dad, brother and friends.
Julia was born
on Jan. 3, 1983 in Harlan, KY. She was a graduate of Harlan High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Masters from East Tennessee State University. She worked as a speech pathologist at R.H. Prine Elementary School in Bradenton.
Brent is survived by his parents, Donnie and Rhonda Robinson; his older brother, Brad, all of Bradenton; maternal grandparents, Ron and Sara Castle of Ceredo, West Virginia; paternal grandparents, Don and Priscilla Robinson of Kenoba, West Virginia; several aunts, uncles and cousins and his dog, Scraps.
Julia was predeceased in addition to her husband and parents by her grandparents, Fred & Fern Caldwell, Eldon & Julia Fox, and is survived by her brother, F. Scott (Beckie) Caldwell, nephews, Alex & Bradley Caldwell all of Georgetown, KY, Uncles; Terry Caldwell and Ronnie Fox, and aunt, Sherry Davis . They will also be missed by many dear, close friends.
A celebration of Brent and Julia’s lives’ will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at The Bridge Church of Palma Sola Bay, 4000 75th Street West, Bradenton. Committal services will follow at the Palma Sola Cemetery in Bradenton.

Mr. E. James Forssell
E. James Forssell, 79, Bradenton, passed away on Dec. 25, 2012. He was born
on May 10, 1933 in St. Paul, MN to the late Rev. G.E. and Minerva (Okerstrom). He served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He received his Masters Degree from the University of Iowa and moved to Manatee County in 1961 coming from AL. He served as the Music Department Chair and Choral Director for Manatee High School for 34 years. He also served as Minister of Music for many local churches. He was predeceased by his brother, Elmen and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen, son; Jim (Holly) Forssell, two daughters; Julie (Rick) Lease, Joanie Forssell all of Bradenton, two sisters; Elnerva (Jim) Rentz of Sun Lake, AZ, Elnerine (Ken) Johnson of Winter Haven, FL, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10-11 A.M. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 with services to follow at 11:00 A.M. at the Calvary Baptist Church, 3006 9th Ave. W., Bradenton. Ms. Genoveva Alvarez, 78, of Bradenton, passed away on December 9, 2012 at her residence in Bradenton. Ms. Alvarez was born
on February 27, 1934 in Altamire, Tampaulipas, Mexico to the late Felix Alvarez and Nieves Maya. She is survived by numerous children and family members. Irene Korpalski 84, of Bradenton passed away peacefully Dec. 5, 2012 surrounded by loving family. She is survived by her son Walter, his wife Margaret, daughter Joyce, Grandchildren Candice, Walter, Jamie, her husband Hans and Great-Grandchild Orion. Mr. William D. "Bill" Griffin
William D. “Bill” Griffin, 80, Bradenton, passed away Dec. 4, 2012. Bill was born
on Jan. 15, 1932 in Nightdale, NC to the late Samuel & Madge (Ferrell) Griffin. He moved to Bradenton at the young age of 18. He was a retired salesman with DeSears Appliances in Bradenton with over 45 years of service. He was a member of the Samoset Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and was a soloist and played on the church softball team for many years. He was also a member of the Woodland Baptist Church where he served as the Director of Music and Chairman of the Building Committee. He was predeceased by his sister, Lucy Short, and three brothers; Randolph, Robert and Pete. He is survived his loving wife of 58 years, June, two sons; James “Jim” W. (Diane), Danny A. (Tracy), all of Bradenton, three grandchildren; Dustin, Jonathan, Danny, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews. The family received friends Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 from 1-2 P.M. with a celebration of his life that followed at 2 P.M. at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th St. W., Bradenton. Interment followed at Palmetto Cemetery, Palmetto. Memorials may be made to either the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society in his memory.

Mr. Norman Franklin Jackson
Norman Franklin Jackson, 74 of Manatee County, Florida and Craigsville, West Virginia, passed away on December 1, 2012 at the Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. Mr. Jackson was born
on January 17, 1938 in Erbacon, West Virginia to the late Elvin and Georgia Jackson. He worked as a truck driver in the coal industry and has been a winter resident of Manatee County for the last three years, and was a member of the Pentecostal church. He is survived by his loving wife Betty Jo Jackson of Manatee County, Florida and Craigsville, West Virginal, two sons; Sam and Tommy Jackson both of Bradenton, Florida, two daughters; Addie Johnson and Georgia Maz (Rick) Conway both of Richwood, West Virginia one brother, Pearlie (Savanna ) Jackson of Bradenton, Florida, three sisters; Bonnie (Keith) Tincher and Marie Ward both of Bradenton, Florida, Addie Brown of Craigsville, West Virginia, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There were no local services held in Florida, visitation and funeral services were held in Richwood, West Virginia under the direction of the Simons Coleman Funeral Home with committal services taking place at the West Virginia Memorial Gardens in Calvin, West Virginia.
Mrs. Anna Richter
Anna Richter, 89 of Palmetto, passed away on December 13, 2012 at the TideWell Hospice House in Arcadia, Florida. Anna was born
March 4, 1923 in Kryne, a small farming village outside of Bratislava Czechoslovakia. Anna immigrated to this country in 1937 for a better life with her Father Martin Otruba, and Mother Anna Mozolak at 14 years old. The family settled in New York City. Factory work, hard labor, and the will to succeed the family was fortunate enough to purchase a chicken farm in Somerville, New Jersey.
After being in the USA for a number of years, Anna went back to her homeland after WW II in the mid 1940's to spend some time with family. Vacationing in the Tatra Mountains with her sister Emily, she met my father Vladimir Richter (deceased 2006) on leave from the Army also vacationing, from Ceska Trebova. That was Sudetenland 60 miles outside of Prague. They courted, and married in February 1949 in Ceska Trebova, a small village now called the Czech Republic.
Anna (a seamstress) and Vladimir (an accountant) had made plans to start a new life in the United States. The Warsaw pact, Cold War, WWII, German occupation, socialism, communism, USSR, the mass murders of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians was to be part of their past. They thought it was no problem to cross borders since Anna was a citizen of the United States. Prior to departure the communist party did not approve Vladimir's Visa. He was not permitted to proceed to the USA, while his new bride Anna Richter boarded the aircraft and no turning back. The international economic and military alliances denied all visas and no one was allowed out of the country, and no was allowed in. They were separated for 10 years 2 months.
The border control was ordered shoot to kill if an "escape" to defect was attempted. An attempt was made to "smuggle" Vladimir out of occupied Czechoslovakia to USA. The smugglers were caught by the KGB, and Anna's father Martin Otruba's $5,000 payment lost. After repeated applications to the United Nations, Shirley Temple Black became involved and assisted my father and mother to reunite. Shirley Temple Black later became the US ambassador to Czechoslovakia.
Happily reunited, a son Jerry (aka Jaroslav) was born
in 1961. Due to the separation and older age of Anna (aka Anicka), and Vladimir (aka Walter) a Down syndrome son John (aka Janko), was born
on Nov 22, 1963…..the same day J.F.K. was assonated.
Anna was a talented seamstress in charge of the bridal department creating custom bridal gowns for the rich and famous in NYC Bloomingdales. Vladimir a German speaking Czech landed a job on Wall Street. Not liking the position he took on a bartender position in a famous nightclub The Lorelei, on the upper east side of Manhattan. He later purchased into a partnership into one of the most popular nightclubs of the era with Charlie Schroder and Elliot Welles.
Anna and Vladimir Richter lived in New York City during the 1960's then purchased home in Malba on the borough of Queens. In 2005 the Richter's moved to a vacation home in Clearwater Beach, Florida then eventually in Palmetto Florida.
After suffering for years with a heart condition, poor circulation, and painful arthritis Anna was forced to have an emergency appendectomy, and gall bladder removed in the second week of June 2012. . To proceed with surgery her blood thinner needed to be discontinued and a severe stroke followed the day before father’s day. Paralyzed and weak Anna held on wanting to "get better" so she could care for her Down syndrome son. Not even a chance…..to get better she was in TideWell residential hospice in Arcadia. She received the most attentive care and the most angelic compassionate staff I could have ever prayed for the end of my mother's life.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 A.M. on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Living Lord Lutheran Church, 11107 Palmbrush Trail, Lakewood Ranch, Florida where a celebration of her life will follow at 11:00 A.M. Committal services will follow at the Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto. The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Manatee Buds in her memory. Janet Olson, 89, of Bradenton, passed away on December 6, 2012. She is survived by her sister, Jacque Lake, of MI. Memorial Service will be held later at Kirkwood Pres. Church where she was a charter member.
Senator Edgar Hilleary Price, Jr.
Edgar Hilleary Price, Jr., 94, of Manatee County died December 1 in Bradenton following a long illness.
Mr. Price was born
in Jacksonville on January 1, 1918, and moved to Sarasota in 1924. He attended Palmetto High School for one year and graduated from Sarasota High School in 1937. He attended the University of Florida, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and later received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the university. He was a former trustee of New College, Stetson University, and Manatee Community College, a charter trustee of the University of South Florida Foundation, and an honorary member of Florida Blue Key and Stetson ODK.
His father was one of the early developers of Whitfield Estates, and sold the land where the City of Venice was built to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, who developed Venice.
During World War II he flew 26 combat missions as a B-17 pilot in the Eighth Air Force, stationed in Ridgewell, England. He retired as Executive Vice President of Tropicana Products, operated the Price Company, a non-profit consulting firm, and remained active in civic affairs and charitable work until the time of his death.
Mr. Price was past president of the Bradenton Kiwanis Club and Manatee Chamber of Commerce. He was past chairman of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Manatee Red Cross, Manatee United Way, Manatee School Board Trustees, Bradenton Housing Authority, Florida Citrus Commission, Florida State Horticultural Society, and the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Census. He was a member of the Florida Commission on Ethics, Florida State Plant Board, Florida Board of Control and the United States Circuit Judge Nominating Committee. He was named Manatee County’s Distinguished Citizen in 1970.
He was elected to the Florida Senate in 1958, originally representing all of Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte Counties. After reapportionment, he represented Manatee County. He retired from the Senate in 196 after receiving the St. Petersburg Times Award as Most Valuable Senator, the Florida Radio and Television Award as Most Valuable Senator, and the Allen Morris Award as Most Valuable Member of the Florida Legislature in the 1965 session.
He was a director emeritus of FPL Group, Inc., former director of General Telephone Company of Florida, Florida Cypress Gardens, Ellis Banking Corporation, Palmetto Bank and Trust Company, First Federal Savings and Loan of Bradenton, and former trustee of the Aurora Foundation.
He was a member and past Chairman of Deacons at First Baptist Church of Bradenton, where he taught Sunday School for 25 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elise Ingram Price, and sister, Elizabeth Beakes. He is survived by his son, Jerry Price of Tallahassee; granddaughters Hilleary Price and Carrie Whaley of Bradenton; great-grandchildren Otis and Imogene Whaley of Bradenton; niece Shyla Brenan of Ellijay, Georgia; and beloved friend, Barbara Ann McKinney of Bradenton.
A public visitation will be held Friday, December 7, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th Street West, in Bradenton. Funeral services will be private. Memorial gifts may be made to the Salvation Army, Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, or the charity of your choice.
