Mr. Billy Ray Stephens of Panama City Beach, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at his residence. Born in Cramerton, NC, he moved to Bay County in 1998 from Tallahassee, Fla. Mr. Stephens was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Stephens of Panama City Beach; three daughters, Shelia Hancock and Ginger Scroggs, both of Georgia, and Robin Brown of Lynn Haven; two sons, David Stephens of Youngstown, and Randy Stephens of Chipley; one brother, Albert Stephens of North Carolina; fourteen grandchildren, Courtney Owen, Bo Hancock, Amanda Mobley, LeAnn Scroggs, David Ray Stephens, Justin Brown, Melissa Hubberd, Cerena Brown, Mandie Stephens, Candie Stephens, Annie Stephens, Jacob Brown, Courtney Brown and Kolbey Stephens; and two great-grandchildren, Shane Hubbard and Thomas Hubbard. Funeral services for Mr. Stephens will be conducted Monday, May 6, at 2 p.m. in the Gulf Beach Baptist Church with Pastor Gregory George officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. GLORIA MAE YOUNG
Gloria Mae (Christiansen) Young, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at her home in Mexico Beach. She was born May 19, 1929 in Askov, Minn. She married her husband William O. Young, July 14, 1974 and in 1992 they moved to Mexico Beach from Austin, Minn. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and attended the Mexico Beach United Methodist Church. Mrs. Young is preceded in death by her parents, John and Emily Christiansen; three brothers, Jim Christiansen, Richard Christiansen, and Donald Christiansen; and a sister, Alice Waller and her husband Alfred; two stepdaughters, Wendy McFarland and Lori Hintz. She is survived by her two sons, Mitchell B. Christiansen and his wife Susan of Colorado Spring, Colo. and Paul A. Comisak of Panama City: two daughters, Deborah S. Watkins and her husband Dennis of Enterprise, Ala., and Janis A. Walburn of Panama City; two stepchildren, Sharon I. Olson and her husband Jim of Mankoto, Minn., and William I. Young and his wife Danita of Mankoto, Minn.; eighteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mick Christiansen of Austin, Minn.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be conducted by the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post 10069, Port St. Joe on June 8, 2002.

William Edward "Bill" Hillman, 64, of Panama City, died Monday, May 6, 2002, at his home. He was a 1960 graduate of the University of Arkansas and attended Louisiana Tech University. He was a retired employee of 40 years from Arizona Chemical Company, where he had worked as a chemical engineer. Bill was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Panama City. Bill was a very loving husband and father and will be missed by everyone who knew him. Mr. Hillman was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James J. Hillman of Fordyce, Ark. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jean; three children, Julie Renae Kinelski and husband, Steve, of Charlotte, N.C., Edward Oliver Hillman and wife, Debbie, of Baton Rouge, La., Lt. Nicole Sharon Hillman Holland and lst Lt. Chuck Holland of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren, Isabelle Reed Hillman, Grace Ella Hillman; and seven sisters and two brothers, Harry J. LILLIAN 'VICK' RICHARDS
Lillian "Vick" Richards, age 77, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at her residence. She was a member of St. Simon's-on-the-Sound Episcopal Church and was a faithful manager of Wright Newsstand for many years. Vick was a quiet person and loved to walk. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Richards; sons, David Richards and wife, Ida, and Ian Richards and wife, Sue; and daughter, Christine Richards, all of Fort Walton Beach; daughter, Celia Redmond and husband, Andrew, of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and son, Peter Richards and wife, Tina, of Crestview, Fla. Vick is also survived by 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Maureen Roberts of Panama City, Fla. A memorial service was held Friday, May 3, at 6 p.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home with the Rev. Martha Harris officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Jude's Episcopal Church in Marietta, Ga. Clifford D. "Sid" Walker, 64, of Panama City Beach, died Saturday, May 4, 2002, in a local hospital. He was retired from the U.S. Navy. Mr. Walker is survived by two daughters, Danielle German of Huntsville and Melissa Fine of Indianapolis, Ind.; and a son, Kevin Walker of Callaway. He also leaves behind four loving grandchildren. Mrs. Evelyn Ruth Railey, age 66, of Panama City, went to be with Jesus, May 9, 2002, from her residence. Mrs. Railey was born in Holmes County, Fla., and had lived in Panama City most of her life. She was a homemaker, and a former housekeeper at the Comfort Inn. She had been a cafeteria worker at the International Paper Company in the 1950s and 1960s. Mrs. Railey was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Millville. She is survived by her husband, S.E. "Buck" Railey of Panama City; one son, Alvey Stanley and his wife, Pam, of Panama City; one daughter, Christine Burke and her husband, Daniel, of Crestview; four grandchildren, Jason Stanley, Adam Stanley, Melanie Burke and Matthew Burke; and two very special friends, Helen Harris and Pam Snyder. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 13, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gainey officiating. Interment will follow at Millville Cemetery.
