Mr. Rex Allen Andrews, 51, of Port St. Joe, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Gulf Pines Hospital in Port St. Joe. A native of Grand Rapids, Mich., he served in the U.S. Navy and had been a resident here for the past several years, working for David Warriner at the St. Joe Motel. He is preceded by his father, Fredrick Andrews; his sister, Betty Owens; and her son, Jamie. He is the son of Margie and Ron Andrews Steventon of Port St. Joe. Mr. Andrews is survived by his children, Aaron and Lenora; one sister, Marjorie Phillips of Highland View; five nephews; two nieces; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at Oak Grove Assembly of God Church, Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11a.m. EST with the Rev. Dave Fernandez officiating. Visitation will be held today, Jan. 11, at Comforter Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.EST.

ROBERT RAY FREEMAN JR.
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Ray Freeman Jr. of Port St. Joe will be conducted today, Jan. 11, 2002 at 11a.m. EST in First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe with the Rev. Jessie Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, however, those who wish may make contributions to First United Methodist Church in memory of Mr. Freeman.

RICKY EUGENE ARMSTRONG
Ricky Eugene Armstrong, 48, of Eastpoint, Fla., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee. Mr. Armstrong vas a native of Port St. Joe, Fla., moving to Eastpoint from Fort Worth, Texas, 13 years ago. He vas a truck driver, and a member of the Eastpoint Church of God in Eastpoint. He is survived by his wife, Angie Armstrong, of Eastpoint; daughter, Mandee Armstrong; two stepsons, Michael and Shawn Carpenter; two brothers, Ben Armstrong and wife, Helen, Clearence Armstrong and wife, Gwen, of Panama City; four sisters, Sarah Byrd and husband, Gerald, of White City, Melba Peak and husband, Earl, of Highland View, Betty Hanlon and husband, Gene, of Wewahitchka, and Jeanette Armstrong of Panama City. He was loved and will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter E. and Estelle Armstrong. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at Eastpoint Church of God in Eastpoint. Visitation will be today, Jan. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. EST at Kelley Funeral Home.

WILLIE HOUSTON CARTER
Funeral services for Willie Houston Carter, 86, formerly of Panama City, who died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Wesley Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss., will be held today at 1:30 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Craig Conner and the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from noon to 1p.m. Active pallbearers are Bill Gilbert, Bobby Higdon, Coy Gay, Bob Robbins, Doyle Kirkland, John Martin, William Kirkland and Tony Harper. Honorary pallbearers are past and present members of the Willie Carter Sunday school class. Those desiring to may make a contribution to Temple Baptist Church, 1508 Hardy St., Hattiesburg, Miss., 39401 in memory of Willie Carter.

HADLEY HERBERT CHESTNUT JR.
Hadley Herbert (Bub) Chestnut Jr., 76, of 1330 Dover Road, Parker, Fla., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday Jan. 8, 2002, in a local hospital. Mr. Chestnut moved to Panama City in 1937 from Hodge, La. He was a retired maintenance superintendent at the Panama City mill. He graduated from Bay High School and attended FSU and Auburn University. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of IPC, DAV, and Parker United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles) and was present at the Battle of the Bulge. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Chestnut; two sons, Thomas H. Chestnut, Buddy W. Chestnut and his wife, Nicky; two daughters, Cindy Chestnut Carter and Connie Sue Chestnut Archer and her husband, Thomas, all of Panama City; four grandchildren, Joe Gorman, Julie Finch, Amy Miller, Brandon Fowler; two great-grandsons, Wesley Stone and Thomas Stone; two sisters, Pat Flowers and her husband, Arthur, of Andrews, S.C., and Sandra Turner and her husband, John, of Raleigh, N.C. Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Malson, the Rev. Jack Hankins, and the Rev. Daniel Dykes officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Thomas Archer, Brian Archer, Andrew Flowers, Art Flowers, Joe Gorman and Mark Turner. Honorary pallbearers are Panama City paper mill past and present employees. The family would like to express its gratitude to those who cared for Bub and especially Dr. William Dent and his staff and the doctors and nurses at University Hospital in Staten Island, N.Y. ERVIN ELISHA COLEMAN
The Rev. Ervin Elisha Coleman, born June 26, 1908, in Iron City, Ga., was called to his final assignment in glory, Jan. 8, 2002, in Fort Myers, Fla. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Tonetta Ruby Lee Miller, of Fort Myers. Over his years of ministry, the Rev. Coleman served the Church of God as pastor, evangelist, superintendent of education for the Northwest Bible School, pincipal for the Spokane Bible School and taught at the International Bible College in Canada. Devoting most of his time to research and doctrine, he has published many books on Bible doctrine, a correspondence Bible course, short stories, plays and numerous songs. His last pastorate was at age 86 in Carrabelle, Fla. He is also survived by sons, Charles (Wynette) Coleman of Lake Wales, Fla., and Darrell (Frances) Coleman of Fort Myers, Fla.; daughters, Tonetta V. Ponder of Arcadia. Fla., and T. Marie. (the Rev. Gene) Smith of Panama City; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Maxie (Evelyn) Coleman of Plant City, Fla., and Jack (Genevive) Coleman of Mulberry, Fla.; sisters, Rita (Oliver) Adams of Fresno, Calif., and Rachel (Horace) Sullivan of Plant City; and many nieces, nephews and numerous dear friends. Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. at Arcadia Church of God, 1423 N.E. Oak St., Arcadia, Fla., with visitation and viewing today, Jan. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsboro Ave., Arcadia, Fla.,. (phone 863-494-1901). Burial and graveside services will be Saturday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, Fla.

EDWARD 'CORKY' CORKRAN
Mr. Edward "Corky" Corkran, 49, of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at his home. He was a native of Birmingham, Ala., but spent most of his life in Key West, Fla., where he was in the Civil Air Patrol in high school. He has been a resident of the Panama City Beach area since 1991, coming here from San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Corkran spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1991. He spent most of his service career in Texas, but also spent some time in the Far East. He enjoyed traveling and working on electronics and computers. He was a member of Hiland Park United Methodist Church and an associate member of Branch 346 FRA. Mr. Corkran is survived by his wife of 21 years, Debra L. Corkran, of Panama City Beach; his daughter, Heather Corkran of Panama City Beach; his mother, Earlene Corkran, of Jasper, Ala.; two half-brothers, Jimmy and Johnny Corkran, both of Alabama; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward P. Corkran. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Bass officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Tyndall Air Force Base. ROBERT ALLEN HAYDEN
Mr. Robert Allen Hayden, 55, of Parker, Fla., passed away, Monday, Jan. 7, 2002 at his residence. He was born in Bangor, Maine, and had lived in Panama City since 1949. He was an electronics technician and was the owner and operator of Hayden Electronics. Robert enjoyed saltwater sport fishing and loved fishing from the Panama City Beach Pier. He had many business and personal friends who will miss him. He is survived by his father, Deane S. Hayden of Parker; two sisters, Linda Joyce Hayden and Judith Ann Hogg, both of Atlanta, Ga.; and his nieces and nephews, Kim Nunn and her husband, Jack Jr., Christine Hogg, Jack Hogg III, Maggie Nunn, and Jacob Nunn, all of Atlanta. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Railey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Jan. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Bay County Humane Society.

Ruth A. House, 62, of Mexico Beach, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at her home. She was born in Havana, Fla., and lived in the beaches area most of her life. Mrs. House was a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church, an active member of the American Cancer Society and a wonderful mother. Survivors include her children, Darrell Patton of Port St. Joe, Dale Patton and wife, Angela, of Panama City, Willie House and wife, Rhonda, of Wewahitchka, Bobby House and wife, Angelia, of Highland View, and Vikki House of Mexico Beach; her grandchildren, Sarah, Jessica, Jenny, Jeff, Zachary, Daniel, Alan, Randall, Jessica, Cassidy, Daniel, Logan, and Geremye; and two brothers, James Jones and Leroy Jones of Oak Grove. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 3 p.m. EST at Oak Grove Assembly of God Church with the Rev. David Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Cemetery. STEPHEN JOHN SMITH
Mr. Stephen John Smith, 33, of Panama City, passed away, Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Bay County and was a boat builder at Century Boats, Inc., for 12 years. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. He was also an avid speedskater and was the Tri-State champion of the Middle Division. Steve also enjoyed water skiing and all outdoor activities. He is survived by a son, Brady Allen Smith, of Lynn Haven; his parents, Clarence and Patti Smith, of Callaway; a brother, Patrick J. Smith, of Parker; two sisters, Chyrl L. Boyer and her husband, Mark, of Lynn Haven and Stephanie A. Gagnon and her husband, Michael, of Panama City; and his nieces and nephews, Brandi, Scott, Justin, Christian, Danielle, and Justin Brian. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael L. Smith. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Msgr. William Crowe and Father Pete Zalewski officiating. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. today, Jan. 11, at St. Dominic Catholic Church.
