Mrs. Dixie B. Duckett, age 85, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001. Mrs. Duckett was a faithful member of the West Bay Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Truman and wife Ellen of Dothan, Ala.; Joe and wife Barbara of Lake City, Fla. and Donna Mayne and husband Terry of West Bay, Fla.; ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great- grandchild; two brothers, Doyle Cain and Alex Cain and three sisters, Artie Mae Mitchell, Pearl Perry and Dorothy Green. Visitation will be held on Dec. 19 from 12 to 2 p.m., with services following the viewing at 2 p.m. at Bottoms Garden Chapel, Geneva Ala. Mrs. Ollie Mae Smith, age 86, of 2316 Michigan Ave., Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at her home. She had been a resident of Bay County for 61 years, coming here from Washington County, Fla. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Gap Pond Baptist Church. She worked at the shipyard as a welder during World War II and also worked at the shirt factory in St. Andrew. She is survived by two sons, Hershel Smith and Buel Smith, both of Panama City; three daughters, Betty Anne Rudd and Charlotte Smith, both of Panama City, Fla., and Frances Gilbert of Apalachicola, Fla.; one brother, Earnest Grantham of Wausau; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchilden. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Smith; eight sisters, Mollie Rogers, Lizzie Hutch, Maggie Hancock, Lettie Taylor, Ruthie Taylor, Dovie Burch, Lillie Chance and Jessie Howell; a brother, Willie Grantham. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, Dec. 18, 2001, at the Greenwood Cemetery, with Pastor Kenneth Arnold officiating. Those desiring may make a donation to Hospice of Emerald Coast.

Barbara Jo Blacka, born Nov. 20, 1942, in Port St. Joe, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at her home. A lifelong resident of Port St. Joe, she worked as a nurse doing home health care. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Whitfield; her father, Joe Whitfield; and a brother, Ray Whitfield. She is survived by her husband, Richard Blacka of Panama City; two daughters, Denise Strickland and husband, Rex, of Port St. Joe and Dawn Stratten and husband, Jeff, of St. Joe Beach; one son, Tony Bond of Port St. Joe; one sister, Joann Shiver and husband, James, of East Point; a brother, Dennis Whitfield and wife, Lucille, of Highland View; six grandchildren, Janah Strickland, B.J. Strickland, Shawna Bond, Terry Bond, Matthew Sasser and Miranda Sasser; many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins; and two special friends, David Sasser and Zachary Kniffin. Forrest William Johnson, 81, of Panama City, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a native of Rutland, N.D., and was retired from the United States Air Force. NORMAN W. KEESLER
Mr. Norman W. Keesler, loving husband and father, age 71, of Panama City, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at his residence. He was born in Lewis Run, Pa., and had lived in Panama City for 31 years. Mr. Keesler was retired as a senior master sergeant, serving 21 years in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served as a high priest. Mr. Keesler is survived by his wife of 52 years, Etta Keesler of Panama City; three sons: Clifford L. Keesler and his wife, Candy, of Camdenton, Mo., David H. Keesler and his wife, Rachelle, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Todd A. Keesler and his wife, Pam, of Lynn Haven; an honorary son, David Hagood and his wife, Betty, of Parker; a brother, Donald Keesler and his wife, Helen, of Bradford, Pa.; two sisters, Betty Casey of Manchester, N.H., and Dolores Gifford of Smithport, Pa.; and his grandchildren, Autumn Zeisset, Aaron, Andrew, and Wesley Keesler, Robert Keesler, Tiffany Hanson, Nicole, Wesley K., Timothy and Daniel Keesler, Cheryl and Melanie Keesler, and Sara Anderton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Gertrude Keesler; a sister, Dorothy Butler; an infant brother, Chester Keesler; and a great-grandson, Chance Keesler. Mrs. Lucille Batson Mullinax, 75, of Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, in a local nursing home. Born in Florala, Ala., she had been a resident of Panama City since 1989 moving here from Boston, Ga. Mrs. Mullinax was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was also Assembly of God by faith. Mrs. Mullinax is survived by her husband, Robert L. Mullinax of Panama City; two sons, Robert Gerald Mullinax and wife, Frances, of Grand Ridge, Fla., and Richard Lee Mullinax and wife, Patricia, of Wewahitchka, Fla.; four daughters, Sandra McCormick and husband, Gene, of Orange, Texas, Glenda Baughman of Panama City, Sharon Sherrer and husband, Jack, of Enterprise, Ala., and Teresa Waddell Martin and husband, David, of Panama City; one sister, Ellie V.
