Ms. Minnie L. Ash, 61, of 536 East Seventh St., Apt 16, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at her home in Wewahitchka. She was a lifelong resident of Gulf County, where she was a member and dietician of St. John Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Herman (Martha) Ash, Tom (wife) Ash, and Jimmy Lee (Nancy) Hunter; two sisters, Rachel (Boe) Young and Ruby (Ulysses) Rouse; one daughter, Regina Jones; and one granddaughter, Shalonda Ash. She is survived by her mother, Delcear Ash, Wewahitchka; three sons, Elder/CSM Willie Jr. (Beverly) Ash, Wuezburg Germany; Alexander Jones (Pamela, companion), Panama City, Fla.; Ronald (Rhonda) Jones, Fort Sill, Okla.; five daughters, Priscilla Ash (Ester Lee, companion), Wewahitchka, Fla.; Wilhelmina (Walter) Myers, Panama City, Fla.; Sheila Williams, and Evon Jones, Wewahitchka, Fla.; Cathy Jones, (Chad, fiance), Panama City, Fla.; two brothers, Liddle (Barbara) Ash, Miami, Fla.; Eddie (Riller) Hunter, Wewahitchka, Fla.; three sisters, Ruth Mae (David, deceased) Britt, Miami, Fla.; Alberta (Albert, deceased) Addison, Clara Fisher, Wewahitchka, Fla.; 23 grandchildren, Scottie, Tiffany, Corintheus, Reginald, Corey, Anterious, Shalina, Collondra, Jamey, Terry Jr., Javonna, Cecily, Ronald Jr., Shykeitha, Olivia, Tanisha, Sarita, Melondy, Damien, Brittney, Precious, Ya'keria, Chad Jr., Qaushawndra, Alexis; 15 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and dear friends of the family, Patricia Jones, Ben Jackson, and Jerry Refour. Funeral services for Ms. Ash will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. at Faison Temple in Wewahitchka with the Rev. Joseph Foster, host pastor, Elder Willie Ash Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Williamsburg Cemetery. A wake service will be held at St. John Free Will Baptist Church this evening from 6 to 7 p.m. Public visitation will begin this afternoon at the funeral home at 1 p.m. The remains will lie in state two hours prior to services at the church. The family will receive friends at 536 East Seventh St., Apt 16 in Wewahitchka.

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Lee Brown, 89, of Lynn Haven, Fla., will be held today, Oct. 26, 2001, at 10 a.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Worley officiating. Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers: Andy, Geoff and Steven Hudson, Buford Suggs and Paul Quick. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry and Jennifer Spivey (Dayspring Retirement Center) and the staff of the Panama City Nursing Center.

DOYLE BRANDON FUSSELL
Doyle Brandon Fussell, 74, of Panama City Beach, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Bay Medical Center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Harrell Faircloth Funeral Home, Moultrie, Ga., with the Rev. Robert Laidlaw officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Born Dec. 1, 1926, in Colquitt County, Ga., Mr. Fussell was the son of William Loam "Lamb" and Annie Lee Gay Fussell. He was a program analyst for Eglin Air Force Base. He was of Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Brownlee Fussell, of Panama City Beach; two sons, Michael Bruce Fussell and Steve Malcolm Fussell, both of New Orleans, La.; two sisters, Lillie Nadine Fussell Newsom Dunlap and husband, Leonard, of Moultrie, Ga., and Hilda Janice Fussell Lanoue of Titusville, Fla.; one grandchild, Christopher Ryan Ballew, Baton Rouge, La.; nieces and nephews, Angie Fussell Jones of Huntsville, Traci Newsom Laidlaw of Sopchoppy, Jeanette Lanoue Locklear of Moultrie, William Kirby Lanoue and Roderick "Rick" Lanoue of Titusville. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Assocication, SW GA Chapter, P.O. Box 71341, Albany, Ga. 31708. Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home, Moultrie, Ga., is in charge of the arrangements.

DANIEL JOHN HAMRE
Mr. Daniel John Hamre, 45, of 4116 Sue Lane, Springfield, Fla., passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2001 at his residence. He was born in Madison, Wis., and moved to Panama City at the age of nine. Mr. Hamre was a 1974 graduate of Rutherford High School and spent four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, after which he became a journeyman electrician. His deep faith in Jesus Christ sustained him through his battle with colon cancer and 16 years with multiple sclerosis, which left him a quadriplegic for the past 10 years. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. Mr. Hamre is survived by his parents, Phyllis and John Hamre of Springfield, Fla.; two brothers, James Hamre and his wife, Mary Jane, of Suwanne, Ga., and Sgt 1st Class Andrew Hamre and his wife, Pennsri, of Clarksville, Tenn.; two sisters, Rebecca Hubbard and her husband, Bryan, of Rockville, Md., and Elizabeth Redding and her husband, Chad, of Panama City, Fla.; and 11 wonderful nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Freeman Murray, and his paternal grandparents, Myrtle and John Hamre. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1001 W. 11th St., Panama City, Fla., with Dr. Wesley Toncre officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with military honors conducted by Tyndall AFB. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are the elders of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jim Bledsoe, David Ammerman, Jamie Kirkland, and Alvin Miller. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran "Kids Life Club" in memory of Dan Hamre. A special thank you to caregivers David Powers, Wanda Larramore, James "J.B." Brantley, Shirley Frazier, Dr. Shumate, Dr. Osborne, Dr. Mahmood, and Dr. Mapp, and to all friends and relatives who supported him and his family.

Mr. Harold John Manning Jr., 49, of Lyons, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold John Manning Sr.; mother, Dorothy Manning, and a daughter, Stephanie Manning. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Lynn Manning; a sister, Janet Hardenbergh; nieces, Kimberly and Amy, and nephew, Bryan. The family requests memorialization by cremation.

Funeral services for Mr. William E. "Bill" Wells Jr., 52, of Panama City, Fla., who passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, will be held 2 p.m. today, Oct. 26, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. REV. JOSEPH W. 'JOE' O'DANIEL
Rev. Joseph W. "Joe" O'Daniel, 57, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at his home. He was a native of Montgomery, Ala., and had lived in Panama City for 28 years, moving here from Montgomery, where he was a homicide detective with the Montgomery Police Department. Rev. O'Daniel served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He was the superintendent of the Panama City Rescue Mission and the ECEO of the Bay County Emergency Management. Rev. O'Daniel was a member of Agape Baptist Church, a member of Ira Lindsey Lodge, F & AM, Scottish Rite, York Rite, the Civitan Club, and was a ham radio operator. He served as commander of the Cedar Grove Auxiliary Police Department. Rev. O'Daniel was the recipient of the first-year Jefferson Awards, and had served as pastor of many area churches. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda O'Daniel of Panama City; two sons, David Joseph O'Daniel and Matthew Stephen O'Daniel, both of Panama City; and a sister, Marianne Wilson and her husband, Tommy, of Jacksonville, Fla. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at the Agape Baptist Church with the Rev. Virgil Vickers officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Harold Courtney, William Page, Tim Courtney, Jerry Pridgen, George Pridgen and Ted Walker. Honorary pallbearers will include the board of directors of the Panama City Rescue Mission. EVELYN MARIE PARKINSON
Mrs. Evelyn Marie Parkinson, 85, of Panama City, Fla., formerly of San Francisco, Calif., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at a local nursing facility. She was a native of Illinois and had lived in San Francisco for 30 years before moving to Panama City. Mrs. Parkinson was a retired secretary for the Bank of America and was of the Protestant faith. She is survived by her children, Joy Scofield and her husband, Richard, of Panama City, Fla., and Jeffrey Parkinson and his wife, Marcia, of Herndon, Va.; a brother, Lester Gehrke of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a sister, Ruth Schwartz of Cedarville, Ill.; two granddaughters, Leia Scofield of Dallas, Texas, and Carolyn Scofield of Panama City; sister-in-law, Mary-Ann Liebenstein and her husband, Bill, of Pearl City, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Ardath Breuer of Prospect Heights, Ill.; and eight nephews and three neices and their families. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Taylor officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Love in the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Oct. 26, 2001, from 3 until 7 p.m.

Mrs. Freida M. Brown, 84, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, at a local nursing facility. She has been a resident of the area since 1981, coming here from Mesa, Ariz. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and a member of the Bayou George Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at the Bayou George Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses with Bro. Norman Leitz officiating.

Mrs. Patricia Ann "Lucy" Holley Culpepper, 51, of Panama City Beach, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Bay County and was a homemaker. Mrs. Culpepper attended Long Beach Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her husband, Bill Culpepper of Panama City Beach; two sons, Tommy Sapp and Buddy Sapp, both of Panama City Beach; a daughter, Shannon Lisenby of Panama City Beach; a stepson, Billy Culpepper of Panama City Beach; her mother, Theresa Holley of West Bay; five brothers, Jimmy Holley, Danny Holley, John Holley, Steve Holley, and Keith Holley, all of West Bay; three sisters, Elaine Sanders of West Bay, Katherine Houseman and Patsy Pettigrew, both of Laguna Beach; and two grandchildren, Brandy Sapp and DeLona Gainer. Mrs. Culpepper was preceded in death by her father, Pete Holley; a brother, Buck Holley; and a sister, Margaret Holley, all of West Bay. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. today, Oct. 27, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leon Jenkins officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Ronnie Holland, Willie Galbraith, Jody Hand, Riley Jordan, Vander Vinson, and Lemmon Holley.
