LOUISE MIMS BARWICK
Ms. Louise Mims Barwick, 95, of GeriCare Assisted Living in Mexico Beach, Fla., formerly of Thomasville, died Friday, August 10, 2001, at Gulf Pines Medical Center in Port St. Joe. We invite you to join us in the remembrance and celebration of our mother's life. She helped many people throughout her life in many ways. She healed limb, mind and soul. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 13, 2001, at First Methodist Church in Mexico Beach, Fla. Born October 19, 1905, in Thomasville, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Charles Edgar Mims and Caroline Leona Vann Mims. She was married to the late B.J. Barwick Sr. She was a physical therapist, having graduated from Peabody in Nashville, Tennessee. She worked at Warm Springs, Georgia, treating President Roosevelt and worked in Baltimore, Maryland at John Hopkins Institute. She also served in the Army, having worked for the VA Domicillary in Thomasville and in Dublin. She then came to Archbold Memorial Hospital as head of the Physical Therapy Department, before retiring with her husband to Mexico Beach, Fla. Survivors include one son, B.J. Barwick Jr. of Mexico Beach; daughter and son-in-law, Mimsie Barwick Caven (Bill) Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society 1599 Clifton Road, North East Atlanta, Georgia 30329.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Bushnell, age 62, of 804 Harmon Ave., Panama City, Fla., who passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, will be held at 4 p.m., today, Aug. 12, 2001, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jimmy Pybus officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

MARTHA LARINE ELROD HARRIS
Martha Larine Elrod Harris departed this life on Aug. 10, 2001. She was born on Dec. 4, 1917, in Fayette, Ala. Larine was preceded in death by her husband, John Ray Harris. She is survived by four children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. They include Martha McDonald and her husband, Jerry, and family, Sharon, Glen and Katrina, Kalen and Tanner McDonald of Panama City, Fla.; Jean Melvin and her family, Mike, Nancy, Erin, David and Hannah Shoults, Jeff, Dawn, Frazier, Darien, and Brad Shoults, all of Destin, Fla., John David Harris and Jude Prodny of Marietta, Ga.; Terry Harris and his family Sue, Melonie, and Vanessa of Birmingham, Ala. She is also survived by a longtime companion, Jim Dennis of Birmingham, Ala. Larine was a member of the Pinson, Ala., Church of Christ for many years and had resided in Pinson for 54 years. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and spirited sense of humor. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Marvin's Chapel Methodist Cemetery in Pinson, Ala., with the Rev. Lloyd Barker officiating. Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Byron E. Raike, age 91, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at a local nursing home. He had been a resident of the area since 1950, moving here from Leesburg, Fla. Mr Raike was a veteran of World War ll and served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending time as a ham radio operator. Mr Raike is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eva V. Raike of Panama City, Fla.; three daughters, Barbara Goodwin of Havana, Fla., Linda Malloch of Panama City, Fla., and Nina Kelly of Greer, S.Carolina; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grand-children. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Bryan officiating.

JOYCE REVELL WORTHINGTON RHODES
Funeral services for Joyce Revell Worthington Rhodes, 74, of 1011 West 11th Court, who died Friday August 10, 2001, in a local hospital, will be held today at 2 p.m., in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Henry Hazard officiating. Interment will be in the Lake Mystic Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty County, Fla. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the Heritage Bible Church, 3380 State Avenue, Panama City, Florida 32405 in memory of Joyce Rhodes. Active pallbearers are Mike Coyne, Joe Steele, Harry Boggs, Holley Callaway, Aaron Duke, John Campington, Greg Boggs. Honorary pallbearers are members of Hiland Park Baptist and Heritage Bible Church, and former City of Panama City Hall employees.

DAVID KENNETH BRODNAX
David Kenneth Brodnax of Lynn Haven, died Aug. 12, 2001, in St. Andrews Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Bastrop, La., Jan. 3, 1919, and moved to this area in 1960. Mr Brodnax was a Protestant by faith. He was a World War II veteran and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge in Praun, Germany on Feb. 9, 1945, and was awarded the Purple Heart. Mr Brodnax retired from Arizona Chemical Corp as a superintendent of traffic and shipping in 1976. He belonged to the Lynn Haven Masonic Lodge No. 314 and was a member of the Panama Country Club for 41 years. Kenneth was an outdoors enthusiast and an avid sportsman all of his life. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially turkey hunting. Mr Brodnax is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Barbara Brodnax of Lynn Haven, Fla.; son, David Kenneth Brodnax Jr. and his wife, Janice of Donaldsonville, La.; daughter, Barbara Ann Crum and her husband, Tyress E. of Cypress, Texas; sister, Laura Bell Suggs of Parker, Fla.; five grandchildren he dearly loved, Christa of Dallas, Texas, Gavin of Ruston, La., Logan Brodnax of Donaldsonville, La., David and Nicole Crum of Cypress, Texas. Mr Brodnax was predeceased by two sisters, Nell Smith and Louise Vandenberg. Funeral services will be held in the Kent-Forest Lawn Chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, with Father Marty Bratek officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Full Masonic Rights will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday , Aug 14, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m.

FRED I. EATON
Mr. Fred I. Eaton, age 87, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1962 coming here from Georgia. Mr. Eaton was a member of the Youngstown Baptist Church, enjoyed fishing, was a self-employed house painter and served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. Mr. Eaton is survived by a son, Leonard Dean Eaton and wife, Toni of Boulder Creek, Calif.; three daughters, Freddie Lucille Scheinder of Elmhurst, Ill., Margaret Dianne Eaton of Leesburg, Ga., and Linda Ballart of Gulf Shores, Ala.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced at a later date.

ISABELLE 'IZZY' T. HELLER
Isabelle "Izzy" T. Heller, 84, of Sunnyhills, Fla., passed from this life on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001. She had been a resident of Sunnyhills, Fla., since 1975, coming from Pennsylvania. She is Protestant by faith and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Sunnyhills, Fla. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home with the Dr. Sy. Mathison officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family requests in lieu of flowers, those wishing to, may donate to the Alzheimer's Association. Survivors are husband, George Heller, of Sunnyhills; two daughters, Christie Snider, of Montgomery, Ala., and Cynthia Randall, of Port Crane, N.Y.; a brother, Charles, of Trine, Conn.; two sisters, Edna Schlager, of Scranton, Penn., and Eula Salsbury, or Hawthorne, N.J.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Patsy Thompson McCord, 54, of Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away Thursday, August 9, 2001, in a local hospital after a brief illness caused by a rare medical condition. Born in Geneva, Ala., she had lived in this area most of her life, coming from Dothan, Ala. She was a surgical assistant working with Dr. George Walters, Oral Surgeon and she attended Forest Park Methodist Church. Her father, James Alvin Thompson and a brother, Tommy O'Neal precede her in death. Mrs. McCord is survived by her loving husband of four years, Doug McCord of Lynn Haven, Fla.; her mother, Rachel Thompson of Deer Point Lake, Fla.; and friend A.J. Kennard all of Lynn Haven, Fla.; one daughter, Melissa Moran and husband, Philip of Deer Point Lake, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Lydia McCord and Amanda Walker of Alabama; three brothers, Ronnie Thompson of Callaway, Fla., Al Thompson and wife, Gloria of Chipley, Fla., and Michael Thompson and wife, Cynthia of Panama City Beach, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted today, August 13, 2001, at 10 a.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Head Cemetery in Holmes County, Fla. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Matthew Thompson, James McConnell, Jared Phillips, Jim Husfelt, Neal Trammel and Al Thompson Jr.

Graveside funeral services for David Kenneth Brodnax of Lynn Haven, who died Aug. 12, 2001, will be held at graveside at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Father Andrew Lewandowski and Dr. Si Mathison officiating. Full Masonic rites will follow. The lodge will be open at 1 p.m. on the day of the service. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Kenny Bostick, Glenn Tidwell, Steve George, Chester Mack Suggs, James Richard Suggs and Rogers Suggs. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Joe Parell.
