J.V. Suggs, 86, of 130 Lakeridge Drive, Panama City, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, in his home. He was born in Campbellton, Fla., but resided in Panama City for most of his life. He was self-employed in the grocery business for many years, but at the time of his retirement, he was employed by Wehadkeeyarn of West Point, Ga., as captain of their recreational yacht. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City where he served as Deacon and a active member of the LLL Sunday school class. He was also a member of the Acme Masonic Lodge #222 and was a Shriner. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gladys Hilton Suggs; sister, Bertha Eddins and her husband, Jack of Panama City Beach; brother, Thomas Oscar Suggs of Lynn Haven; 2 sisters-in-law, Laura Bell Suggs of Parker and Virginia Hawthorne of Panama City; brother-in-law, Pete Hilton and his wife, Eddie of Marianna, Fla.; special friend and caregiver, Teresa Thorpe of Panama City and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Conner and the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. today. Mrs. Inita S. Joiner, age 79, of 102 Camelot Circle, Panama City, Fla., passed away Sat, July 21, 2001, at her residence. She had lived in Panama City for fifty years, moving here from Alabama. Mrs. Joiner loved her church, "Temple Baptist" and gardening. Dewey Belton Crowe Sr., 84, of 1210 Oak Ave., Panama City, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a retired self-employed brick mason. He had been a resident of Panama City for 56 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City and the Good News Sunday school class. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Rheba Crowe; son, Dewey B. Deacon Leonard Ferrell, 81, of River Falls, Ala., died Wednesday July 18, 2001. He was born March 11, 1920, to the late John and Clara Ferrell in Pigeon Creek, Ala. He was the third child born to his parents. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Hayes; two brothers, Johnny Ferrell and Willie James Ferrell. His life and memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Bessie Mae Freeney Ferrel of River Falls; one niece he raised as his daughter, Melvie Ware of Panama City; two nieces, Mattie Bell Hayes and Edna Guilford (Grover), both of Panama City; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
