HENRY 'HANK' KRAUS SR.
Mr. Henry "Hank" Kraus Sr., 71, of 402 Florida Lane, Panama City Beach, Fla., died Wednesday morning at Gulf Coast Hospital. He had been a resident since 1991 and was a retired plant manager for companies in Chicago, Ill., Greenville, N.C., Athens, Ga., Pine Bluff, Ark., and City of Industry, Calif. He was a Korean War veteran, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Kraus is survived by his wife, Arlene Kraus of Panama City Beach, Fla.; two sons, Henry Kraus Jr. of Panama City Beach, Fla., Thomas Kraus and wife Paula of Oswego, Ill.; four stepsons and their wives, Tom and Jackie Bucalo of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Joe and Liz Bucalo of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dennis Bucalo and wife Tina of South Barington, Ill., and Mark Bucalo of Fox River Grove, Ill.; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Virginia Warner of Elk Grove, Ill., Laverne Trosclair of Arlington Heights, Ill., Charlotte Drolet of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, Leonard Kraus of Lake in the Hills, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Barbara Kraus and Aunt Charlotte Meersman of St. Petersburg, Fla. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 20, 2001, at 10 a.m. in the Gulfview United Methodist Church, 322 Rose Lane, Panama City Beach with Bro. Jim Fillingim officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

LEE A. 'SHORTY' McNEILL
Mr. Lee A. "Shorty" McNeill, age 94, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Monday, July 16, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a native of Alliance, Fla., and had lived in Panama City for 59 years. Mr. McNeill was a retired carpenter and a member of Hiland Park Baptist Church, where he attended the Adult Men's Sunday School Class. During World War II Mr. McNeill was a welding supervisor at the Wainwright Shipyard. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Annie Bell F. McNeill of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Joe Ann Petty and her husband Tom of Mossy Head, Fla.; three grandsons, Thomas Lee Petty and his wife Penny of Mt. Airy, Ga., Charles David Petty of Freeport, Fla., and Michael Clarendon Petty of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and three great-granddaughters, Kathleen Petty, Rachel Petty and Victoria Randle. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Pickerill officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Thomas Petty, Charles Petty, Michael Petty, J.D. McNeill and Terry Langford. Honorary pallbearers will include the Adult Men's Class at Hiland Park Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, July 20, 2001, from 6 until 8 p.m.

HAROLD LLOYD JONES
Harold Lloyd Jones, 80, of 208 San Gabriel St., Panama City Beach, died Monday, July 16, 2001, in a local hospital. He was retired from the maintenance department of a nuclear power plant. He was a Marine Corps Veteran of World War II. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1989, moving here from Manton, Mich. He is survived by his wife, Marion C. Jones of Panama City Beach; five daughters, Bobbie Lueking of Okinawa, Japan, Sharon Branch, Dawn Jones, Sandy Watson, all of Panama City Beach, Irene Lantz of Valley Center, Calif.; two brothers, Don Jones and Vernon Jones, both of Flint, Mich.; one sister, Beatrice Cromwell of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday at 1:15 p.m. in Fort Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m.

PAMELA C. CARROLL
Mrs. Pamela C. Carroll, 59, of Panama City, Fla., died Sunday, July 15, 2001, in Louisiana. She was born in Charleston, S.C., and moved here in 1949 from Michigan. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven. Mrs. Carroll is survived by her husband, Dallas E. Carroll Jr.; mother-in-law, Kathleen R. "Susie" Carroll both of Panama City; three daughters: Roberta Rojas of Tampa, LeeAnne Carroll-Culverson of Bainbridge, Ga., and Kathryn C. Taylor and husband Tommy of Marianna; one brother, James H. Crutchfield and wife Judy of Indiatlantic, Fla.; one sister, Gay E. Crutchfield of Lynn Haven; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Carroll will be conducted today, July 19, at 9 a.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Kenny Carroll and Linda Webb officiating. Interment services will follow at 11 a.m. in Limestone Cemetery in Walton County, Fla. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Daniel E. Culverson, Jim Crutchfield, Matthew Webb, Tony Costello, Aaron Gober and Warren R. Gober Jr.

REED BAILEY
Mr. Reed Bailey, age 78, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at his home. He was a native of Forest City, N.C., and had lived in Panama City for 44 years, coming here from South Carolina. Mr. Bailey was a retired painter for Miracle Strip Amusement Park and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was an usher and a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. He also enjoyed freshwater fishing. Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Janette S. Bailey of Panama City, Fla.; a son, Ricky Bailey and his wife Liz of Panama City, Fla.; a stepson, Steve Stewart and his wife Laura of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Betty Chapman of Spartanburg, S.C.; two brothers, Howard Bailey and his wife Tina of Wrightsville, Ga., and A.L. Bailey and his wife Ruby of Ninety Six, S.C.; three sisters, Martha Jean Ealum and her husband Bill of Autaugaville, Ala., Ruby Hodges of Pawley's Island, S.C., and Kathleen Tesner of Union, S.C.; five grandchildren, Michelle Bailey, Jeff Chapman, Dale Chapman, Kenneth Stewart, and Kevin Stewart; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hankins officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, July 20, 2001, from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kidney Center.

ULYSSES VAN WELSEY JR.
Mr. Ulysses Van Wesley Jr. was born March 29, 1945 to the late Mr. Ulysses Van Wesley Sr. and Mrs. Launell Ridley in McComb, Miss., and was a resident of Panama City for 18 years. He served in the United States Army for 23 years. He was employed by the Bay District Schools for 13 years. Mr. Wesley departed this life on Friday, July 13, 2001 at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Luvenia Welsey of Panama City; a devoted son, Reginald Welsey (Shawna) of Fort Bragg Army Post, Fayetteville, N.C.; his mother, Mrs. Launell Ridley of McComb, Miss.; father-in-law, Mr. Jim Tom McNair Sr. of Panama City; two brothers, Lawrence and Trent Wesley of Milwaukee, Wis.; two sisters, Regina Bolden of Milwaukee, and Natalie Wesley of Summit, Miss.; one grandson, Derrik Jordan Wesley of Fort Bragg Army Post; four uncles, Eugene Ridley Jr., Ernest Ridley, Marco Ridley and Octavis Ridley; eight aunts: Williamina Wesley, Bertha Wesley, Annie Knox, Ernestine Witherspoon; three sisters-in-law: Fannie Ware, Margaretta Kirkman (Elmer) and Anniece Reynolds (Edward) all of Panama City; four brothers-in-law, Jim Tom McNair, Jr. and Alvin McNair (Ann), Joseph McNair and Nathaniel McNair all of Panama City; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Wesley will be held Saturday, July 21 at 1 p.m. at the Rosehill Missionary Baptist Church, Smithdale, Miss. Viewing will be today, July 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Mrs. Gladys H. Barclift, 92, of Baycrest Nursing Home, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 18, 2001. Born in Columbia, Tenn., she moved here in the mid 1980s from Decatur, Ala. She was a homemaker and a member of Jenks Avenue Church of Christ. Her husband, Bennie A. Barclift Sr., and one son, William Edward "Ed" Barclift, precede her in death. She is survived by three sons, William "Bill" Barclift and wife Flo of Panama City, Fla., Robert E. "Bob" Barclift of Kansas City, Kan., and Ben A. Barclift and wife Cathy of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Becky Barclift of Gainesville, Fla.; two sisters, Charlene Bennich of Decatur, Ala., and Helen Brigman of Charlotte, N.C.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted today, July 20, 2001 in Grant Street Church of Christ in Decatur, Ala., with Mike King officiating.

DAVID DOZIER
Mr. David Dozier, 81, of 613 Bay Ave. died Sunday July 15, 2001 at Bay Medical Center. He was a native of Caryville, Fla., and was a resident of Bascom, Fla., before coming to Panama City for many years. He was employed with International Paper Co. for 371/2 years. He had to retire due to health problems. He was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by a loving wife, Charlease Dozier of Panama City; one loyal devoted son, Rickey McCaskill (Nellie) of Gulfport, Miss.; two loyal daughters, Mildred Hankins (Carl) and Herrietha Gary (Ozell Sr.), both of Clewiston, Fla.; seven grandchildren: Tara Bland of Clewiston, Anthony Andre Hankins of West Palm Beach, Lashay Randall of Fort Lauderdale, Kawan McCaskill of Plant City, Nisha McCaskill of DeFuniak Springs, Shameek Randall of Orlando, and Kareem Hankins of Clewiston; five great-grandchildren: Markita Glenn, Ty-Raven Waddell and Shakayla Hankins, all of Clewiston, and Konstance and Kameron Milton, both of Plant City; cousins: Joel Smith of Bascom, Audrey Leeks and Creeda Bowers, both of Marianna, and Jimmy Davis of Malone; loving, devoted neighbors: Tony (Olivia), Kristen and Symphony McClain; devoted friends: Red Emanuel, Susie Gibson, Lurina B. Tibbs and Pearline Sheffield; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Dozier will be held Saturday July 21, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Lemuel David Glover officiating. Internment will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Bascom. The remains will repose this evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church and will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. to service time. The family will receive relatives and friends at 613 Bay Ave.

Janet Sieverding, 61, of Lynn Haven, died Sunday, July 1 at her home following a brief illness. She was buried at St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery in Bellevue, Iowa, on Saturday, July 7. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Peters, her daughter Jill Peters, and a granddaughter Sarah Rose Jaeger. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Catholic Church on Saturday July 21 at 11 a.m.
