Mr.Herbert McCullough, 82, of Panama City, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2001 in Tallahassee, Fla. Mr. McCullough was born in Gadsden County, on Sept.1, 1918 and was a resident of Panama City for over 50 years. Mr. McCullough is survived by his daughter, Ms. Patricia Johnson of Tampa, Fla.; a devoted niece, Mrs. Bobble Jean Bines (Bobby) of Tallahassee; a devoted grandson, Mr. Clyde Mathis (Christy) of Panama City; one brother, Mr.Henderson McCullough of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Ms. Palace Haynes of Quincy, Fla., and Ms. Bernice Peair of New York; several grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services for Mr. McCullough will be held at Pasco Gainer Sr. Funeral Home Inc., Panama City, Fla., on Saturday, July 14 at 11 a.m. The family will then travel to Greenshade A.M.E. Cemetery
in Quincy, Fla., for the burial of Mr. McCullough's remains. He will be missed by all.

Mr. Leslie "Scrooge" McNamee, age 71, of 6313 Boatrace Road, Callaway, Fla., died Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at a local hospital. He has been a resident of the area since 1969. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8205 of Parker, Fla. Mr. McNamee held many offices in the district and state of the VFW and received many awards. He is survived by three sisters: Jane Davis of Oradel, N.J., Dorothy Boss of Bedford, Texas, and Katherine Bridwell of Carlsbad, N.M.; and a brother: Raymond McNamee of Wayne, N.J. Graveside funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2001 at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Interment will follow with full military honors conducted by Tyndall AFB. ROBERT M. BELLAMY
The Rev. Robert M. Bellamy passed this life on July 10, 2001, at his residence, 800 N. Bonita Ave. Panama City, Fla. He was born May 12, 1909 to Bro. Henry Bellamy and Sis. Lizzie Horne Bellamy, in Washington County, Chipley, Fla. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Orange Hill Baptist Church, where he served faithfully. He later moved to Panama City, Fla., Where he joined the New Judson Baptist Church. He was called into the Ministry at New Judson and was ordained under the late Rev. William Sutton. He was later called to pastor the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Youngtown, Fla. The church and congregation later moved to Panama City Fla., where he remained pastor for many years. He later moved his membership to First Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church and he served faithfully and assisted with the church services until his health began to fail two months ago. Down through the years, the Rev. Bellamy worked in many spiritual activities for the community and was a member of the local Ministorial Brotherhood. He also became one of the first blacks in Panama City to become a member of the Silver Hair Legislature. He loved and sought to serve and please the Lord and his fellow man. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Sis. Ida M. Darling Bellamy, who preceded him in death. To this marriage four children were born, three sons and one daughter. He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, three sisters and one grandson, Michael Bellamy, also one daughter-in-law, Gladys Bellamy. He is survived by one daughter, Miss Emma Bellamy of Panama City, Fla., three sons, Mr. Mack (Mary) Bellamy, Tampa, Fla., Mr. Lawrence Bellamy of Panama City, Fla., Mr. Thomas (Annie) Bellamy of Valdosta, Ga., and a special niece, Mrs. Catherine Potter. He is also survived by four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for the Rev. Bellamy will be held Saturday, July 14, at 11a.m. in the First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Young officating and the Rev. Rufus Woods performing the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Orange Hill Cemetery

Enrique Arturo Fernandez, 85, of Wewahitchka, passed away at his home Thursday, July 12, 2001. He was born in Zulueta, Cuba, and had resided in the United Stated since 1956. He was a graduate of University of South Florida with a degree in accounting. A devout Catholic, he was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and a member of the Third Order of St. Francis of Assisi and Knights of Columbus. Mr. Fernandez is survived by his wife, Sheila L. Fernandez of Wewahitchka; son, Enrique C. Fernandez and wife, Christina; grandchildren, Andy Fernandez, his wife, Laura and son Jason; Alex Enrique Fernandez, Diego Enrique Fernandez and Margarita Fernandez; daughter, Sheila Fernandez Williams; her husband, Rodger D. Williams and sons, Ray Eubanks and Aaron Eubanks. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 16, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church at 10a.m. CDT with the Rev. Father Thom Guido conducting. Interment will follow in Roberts Cemetery. There will be no public viewing and the family has requested no flowers.

Daniel A. "Danny" Hawkins of Marina Del Ray, formerly of Panama City, died May 19, 2001. He was the beloved son of Wilburn H. and Cindi (Payne) Hawkins of Nigh Ridge, Mo., loving brother of Debra J. Yates of Panama City, Michael D. Hawkins (Anna) of California and Mary D Hayden (Scott) of Tallahassee. He is also survived by a daughter, Kristen of Arizona; five nieces, including Wendy Williams (Ken) of Panama City and Amber D. Yates, also of Panama City, Ashley, Shelby, and Alyssa of California; two nephews, Roger S. Yates II of Panama City and Ian Hayden of Tallahassee; one aunt, Mallie Sharp of Des Moines, Iowa; one uncle, Irvin Hawkins (Almo) also of Des Moines; four cousins, Ricky, Randy, Linda, and Debra and former brother-in-law, Roger Yates. Danny served in the U.S. Navy and was also a very talented musician and artist. Graveside funeral services were held on Thursday, July 12, at 9:30 a.m., in Fort Barrancas National Cementary, Pensacola, with full military honors conducted at the service. Danny will be missed by his many friends in Panama City and Tallahassee. A memorial service in Panama City will be announced at a later date. ROBERT F. NEAL
Robert F. Neal, 71, of Howard Creek, passed away at his home Thursday, July 12, 2001. He was a member of the Howard Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Neal served in the Army's 24th Infantry in Japan and Korea where he received a Good Conduct Medal, Occupation Medal, Distinguished Unit Emblem and the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Robert Neal; his son, John Neal and his brother, John Neal. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Neal of Howard Creek; two sons, Daniel Neal of Seattle, Wash., Patrick Neal and wife, Leslie of Milton; three stepchildren, Duane Upky, Donna Ragsdale, and Verna Overturf of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren, Allie Marie and Rachel Neal of Milton; one sister, Frances Whitmire; and two nephews, George and Kevin Whitmire of Lafayette, Ga.
