Thomas H. Geromanos

Graveside service for Thomas H. Geromanos, 78, DeLand, who died Sunday, August 12, 2007, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, at DeLand Memorial Gardens with the Rev. James Martin officiating. Calling hours are from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Lankford Funeral Home, 220 E. New York Ave., DeLand.
Mr. Geromanos was born in DeLand and moved here in 1966 from West Palm Beach. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and DeLand Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lena J. Geromanos, DeLand; son, Douglas H. Geromanos, DeLand; daughter, Vickey Bingham, Colorado Springs, CO and four grandchildren.
Dr. Edward Lee Ashwood
February 23, 1934 - August 7, 2007
Dr. Edward Lee Ashwood, 73, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2007. He was originally from Houston, Texas , but had lived in DeLand since 1972. He was a retired radiologist who practiced in DeLand for 27 years. He was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, DeLand, Volusia County Medical Society and American College of Radiology. He was a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy during the Vietname War. His main interests were his faith, family and service to the community.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Ashwood; daughter, Angela Ashwood; son, Jeff Ashwood and his wife, Kayla and three children, Elizabeth, Emma and Ethan; daughter, Allison Gregory and her husband, Eric; daughter, Andrea Scott and her husband, Sam; daughter, Elyse Ashwood and daughter, Trang Vu.
The memorial service and committal will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 13, at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church with the Rev. Don Lyon officiating. A reception will follow in the St. Barnabas Canterbury House.

Jeanetta June Bain

Jeanetta June Bain, 77, of Rylane Street, a retired assembly line worker for Cadillac Motors for 12 years, died Monday at Florida Hospital DeLand. Mrs. Bain was born in Loyall, KY and moved here in 1981 from Southgate, Mich.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Kasay, DeLeon Springs; a brother, Odell Pursifull, Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Marietta Nell, Thomaston, GA, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ida "Cookie" Christopher
Augsut 21, 1950 - August 4, 2007
Memorial service for Ida "Cookie" Christopher, 56, DeLand, who died at home Saturday, August 4, 2007, following a courageous battle with cancer, will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 7 at Cornerstone Christian Church, 2813 Howland Blvd., Deltona, with Pastor Kevin Key officiating.
Cookie moved to Florida in 1996 to be closer to family and was surrounded by those who loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Toni; brother, Joey; two sisters, Rosemarie and Billie Jo; father, Vincent; mothers, Ruth and Beanie; adoring grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends. She was predeceased by her older sister, Connie. Cookie will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, Hospice or HELP Animals, Inc.

Graveside services for Mitchell James Reese, 21, Evenglow Court, Deltona, who passed away August 3, 2007, at his home in his sleep, will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2007 at Deltona Memorial Gardens. Entombment will be at Deltona Memorial Gardens. Calling hours are from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Lankford Funeral Home, 220 E. New York Ave., DeLand, Fla.
Mr. Reese was born in Amherst, New York and moved to this area in 1992 from there. He was a mechanic and a 2005 graduate of Deltona High School.
Survivors include his parents, Mark and Marilea Reese, Deltona; brother, Michael Reese, Deltona; and paternal grandmother, Naomi Szuminski, Deltona. John Bernard Rothert III

John Bernard Rothert III, 63, of Hanley Street, who retired as a computer technician for Sprint after 37 years, died Friday at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa. Mr. Rothert, an Army veteran of the Vietname War, was born in Cincinnati and moved here in 1985 from Indiana
. He was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Lake Monroe Amateur Radio Society, AMSAT (a radio amateur satellite corporation), a former volunteer firefighter and a certified skywarn spotter for the National Weather Service.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Judith; three sons, David, Deltona, Michael, Ladson, SC and John, Anderson, IN; a daughter, Marcia Allison, Tarpon Springs; a brother, Thomas, Cincinnati and 11 grandchildren.

Cealon D. "Pappy" Northrup

Cealon D. "Pappy" Northrup, 102, of North McDonald Avenue, a retired carpenter in New York, died Wednesday at Florida Lutheran Healthcare Center. Mr. Northrup was born in Nanticoke, NY and moved to this area in 1956 from New York. He was a member of First Congregational Church of Orange City.
Survivors include a son, M. Carl of Endicott, NY; a sister, Irene Fiegel of New York; nine grandchildren, including Elizabeth Parkhurst of DeBary, who provided for his care and 13 great-grandchildren.

James L. Angel, Jr., 48, of Dunn Avenue, a musician, died Saturday at Halifax Medical Center. Mr. Angel was born in Akron, Ohio and moved to this area in 1990 from Northport. He enjoyed playing the guitar.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Reyne Bujno-Angel; his father James of North Fort Myers; a brother, Tim Semelsberger of Akron, OH: three sisters, Lynn Barnett of North Fort Myers, Cheri Wolfram of Loveland, OH and Judy Sebastian of Akron, OH.

Pauline Lowe Record, 97, of Northlake Drive, a retired library specialist for the State of Connecticut, died Saturday at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial. Mrs. Record, who received a master's of library science degree in 1966 from Columbia University, was born in Lincoln, Neb. She was a longtime resident of this area.
Survivors include two sons, M. Thomas Jr., of Madison, Wisconsin and Stephen of Block Island, RI; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Maria Santana

Maria Isabel Santana, 84 of East Normandy Boulevard, a seamstress, passed away Friday, December 30 at home. Mrs. Santana moved to this area in 1992 from Puyerto Rica, her birthplace.
Survivors include her husband, Pablo Rodriguez; two daughters, Noemo Rosario of Edison, NY and Barbara Perez of DeBary, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Bessie Young, 93 of Hartford Drive in DeLand, passed away at her home on December 29, 2005. Mrs. Young was born in Centersburg, Ohio and moved to this area 27 years ago. She was a retired beauty shop owner and operator.
Survivors include one sister, Grace Reynolds of Centersburg, Ohio.

Ronald E. Rogers, 68, of Grand Avenue, passed away Wednesday, December 28 at home. Mr. Rogers was born in Denver and moved to this area in 1977 from Blue Ridge, TX.
Survivors include his wife, Bama; three sons, Michael of Plano, TX, William of Germany and Christopher of Blue Ridge, TX; two stepdaughters, Giglia Steinman of DeLand and Heather Steinman of Canton, GA; two sisters, Virginia Ericksen of Manhattan Beach, CA and Barbara Cooley of Spokane, WA and nine grandchildren.
