Mr. Joel Henry Traylor, age 58, of 1605 Nassau St., Southport, Fla., died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at his home. He had been a resident of the area for 55 years, coming here from LaGrange, Ga. Mr. Traylor served his country in the National Guard and was Protestant by faith. He is survived by his wife, Dessaray B. Traylor of Southport; a daughter, Trina Traylor of Southport; five brothers, Tony Noles and his wife Katrina of Pensacola, Mark Noles and his wife Sherry of Lynn Haven, Bobby Traylor and his wife Nita and Donald Traylor, all of LaGrange, and Charles Traylor of Five Point, Ala.; mother-in-law, Nellie Barfield; uncles, Uncles Albert and Tom Noles; brother and sisters-in-law, Mary and Junior Miller, Alice and Paul Cooley, Shirley and Wayne Adkins, Donald and Ruth Barfield, Vina and John Biddinger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, at Southport Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Derick Biddinger and the Rev. Nixon Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Southport Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are, Jim Barton, Jarrod Hill, Stephen McClavin, Eddie Scott, Tommy Loftin, and Dale Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will include Jim Gordy, Charles Skipper, Wayne Lowe, Oliver Bachman, Lonnie-Lynn Haven Barber Shop, Tim Farris, Lamar and Lowell Lowe, Woody Davis, Jimmy DeLoach, Ross Locke, Chuck Barrett, Ronnie Newsome, all employees of Margaret Fashions, all employees of Advanced Auto Parts, and all employees of B & B Sportsware in Chipley. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, today, June 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. If you wish you may make contributions to Joe Traylor Memorial Fund at Peoples First. The family will be staying at the home of Mrs. Traylor's sister, Vina Biddinger, 1501 Nassau St., Southport.

Mrs. Shirley E. Airey, age 76, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Monday, June 4, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a native of Quincy, Mass., and had lived in Panama City for 35 years, moving here from Grand Forks, N.D. Mrs. Airey was a homemaker and a member of Holy Nativity Episcopal Church and had been a member of the Pilot Club, Int. for over 30 years. She is survived by her husband, Paul W. Airey, CMSAF, Ret. of Panama City, Fla.; one daughter, Ellen Rederer of Casper, Wyo., two sons, CMSGT Ret. Dale Paul Airey and his wife Norma of Jacksonville, Fla., and Shawn Airey of Dallas, Texas; a brother, William Babbitt and his wife Marjorie of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Laurice Babbitt of Worcester, Mass.; and two grandsons, Paul W. Airey II and Sean Daniel Airey. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday., June 8, 2001, at Holy Nativity Episopal Church with Fr. John Richardson officiating.

Deacon Lynn Bentley Jr., 63, of 205 Lannie Rowe, Callaway, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2001, at his home. Funeral services for Deacon Bentley will be held today, June 6, at 2 p.m. in Family of God Baptist Church with Pastor Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery

JUNE 4, 1909 TO JUNE 4, 2001 Reva went home to be with the Lord on the same day that she was given to the world, upon her 92nd year. Her husband, James Hall Brooks; a daughter, Beverly J. Thompson; and grandsons, Mark Evans, Everette Cline and James Cline preceded her in death. Shonna Beachman and Warren Thompson, both of Fountain, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Rachelle Roberts and husband Jason, Troy Shramek, Chad Shramek and wife Jamie Lynn, all of Lynn Haven, Fla., Steven Wilson and Christopher Wilson, both of Tucson, Ariz., Jonathan Harling and Michael Harling, both of Fort Mill, S.C., Beverly Beachman and Keri Thompson, both of Fountain, Fla.; great-grandchildren, James Spangler and Cody Shramek, both of Lynn Haven, Fla.; best childhood friends of 61 years, Jan Martin and Alice Leary of Binghamton, N.Y.; and a vast number of friends across the country. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 7, 2001, at 7 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Lynn Haven. All those who loved her are invited to attend. with Sims Funeral Home Directing. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Sims Funeral Home Inc. Miss Pipkin passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at her residence in Bonifay. Miss Pipkin is survived by her mother, Ruby Pipkin of Chipley; sister, Mary Whitfield of Bonifay; brother, John Pipkin of Graceville; and several nieces and nephews. Miss Pipkin was a member of the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church and a retired employee of Gulf Power. Serving as active pallbearers will be Richard Pipkin, Brad Johnson, Donnie Worley, Steve Roberts, Jean Robinson and Bill Lee. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

ROBERT C. ROGERS
Robert fell asleep in the loving arms of Yahshua on June 4, 2001. He was 78 years young. Originally from Michigan, he retired to Panama City, Fla., with his wife Ethel in 1978. Robert was in the Navy and served his country proudly from l942 to 1946 in the Asiatic Pacific and Philippine Liberation. He received the Victory Metal as well as five stars while in service to his country. He worked as a heat/frost insulator in the asbestos workers trade out of Detroit, Mich. (local No. 25) for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Irene Collis; father, Daniel G. Rogers; brother, Edwin; sister, Phyllis; and brother, Daniel. He leaves behind his beloved, precious wife, Ethel Mae Rogers of Panama City, Fla.; his loving daughter, Carolyn Rogers Schroff and her hushand Don of Panama City, Fla., his devoted loving son, Mark R. Rogers and his wife Debbie of Panama City; his stepchildren, Sandra Cochran and her husband Steve,of Tallahassee; Pamela Wightman and her husband Larry, of Oxford, Mich.; and James Timothy Jackson of Pontiac, Mich.; his grandchildren, Renee Lutz Wightman, Marston Lutz, Brian Wightman, Phillip Wightman, and Bethany Wightman, all from Michigan; Jason Lindsey, Jeremy Lindsey and Danielle Rogers, all from Panama City; brother, Jack Rogers; and sister, Grace Griffin, both of Michigan, and all of their families. Robert was a devout servant of Yahweh and His Son, Yahshua and served them well. He quietly walked the narrow path, helping all those who were in need that he met along the way. He will live on in the hearts of his loving family and will be dearly missed by all those he touched along the way. John W. "Bo" Whitehurst passed away Monday, June 4, 2001, at his home after an extended illness. A native of St. Andrews, he served in the Army with tours of duty during the wars in Korea and Viet Nam, and retired after almost 25 years of service. He had been resident of Wewahitchka since 1977. Mr. Whitehurst is survived by his wife, Reba Whitehurst of Wewahitchka; his children, Vicky Whitehurst of Panama City, Bobby Whitehurst and wife Lori of Wewahitchka and Jenny Whitehurst of Panama City; his stepchildren, Christopher Lucas, Jeremy Lucas, Angela Lucas and Crystal Lucas, all of Wewahitchka; two grandchildren, Tony Whitehurst of Wewahitchka and Mallory Whitehurst of Panama City; one sister, Nan Soave of South Carolina; one brother, Franklin Whitehurst and wife Denice of Panama City; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Wewahitchka Thursday, June 7, at 3 p.m. CT with the Rev. Jack Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Buckhorn Cemetery. JANIE LIVINGSTON WILLIAMS
Mrs. Janie Livingston Williams, 89, of Chipley, died on June 4, 2001, at the Washington County Convalescent Center in Chipley. She was the daughter of the late Charles Hannah and Martha Parks Livingston of Malone, Fla., and was the wife of the late W. Ralph Williams Sr. of Chipley. Surviving are her son W.R. (Bill) Williams and his wife Laverne of Chipley and her daughter Jeannie Williams McCall and her husband Dale of Wilmington, N.C.; one daughter, Carole Sue Williams is deceased (1942). Her grandchildren include Chad Williams and his wife Keisha; Jennifer Williams Price and her husband Charlie, Boyd Williams and Jonathan McCall. In addition are her two great-grandchildren, Kristen and Haylee Williams. Mrs. Williams is also survived by two brothers, Joe Livingston of Malone, Duncan Livingston of Tallahassee; and a sister, Elon McIntyre of Tallahassee. Mrs. Williams grew up in Malone after her parents moved to Florida from North Carolina. She graduated from Malone High School, later moving to Chipley when she married in 1935, and had been a resident of Chipley since that time. An active member of her church and community, Mrs. Williams was a Sunday school teacher in the First United Methodist Church for many years. During her lengthy residence in Chipley, she worked as a substitute teacher, tutored in her home, and managed a fabric shop. Mrs. Williams was a longtime member of the Chipley Woman's Club and enjoyed participating in many sewing and handicraft activities. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Lee Allen, will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 7, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 6, at Brown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Family Council, Washington County Convalescent Center, 879 Usery Road, Chipley, FL 32428.
