Mr. Malcolm Koehler, age 92, of 3637 W. Hwy 390, Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1971, coming here from Ocala, Fla. Mr. Koehler was a member of Presbytery of Florida, retiring in 1973. He organized and built a new church in Ocala, Fla., Fort King Presbyterian Church. Mr. Koehler is survived by his wife, Jane Koehler of Panama City; a son, Malcolm Richard Koehler and his wife Mary of Quincy; four grandchildren, Herbert Chancey, Robin Chancey Miller, Susan Chancey Stewart and Benjamin Chancey; a brother, Lawrence E. Koehler of Solona Beach, Calif.; and two sisters, Martha M. Mitchell of Mesa, Ariz., and Leah L. Vogely of Livingston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ken Churchill officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Mattielene Leavens, 60, of Panama City, Fla., passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, in Vernon, Fla. She had been a resident of Panama City for the past 38 years, coming from Vernon, Fla. She was of the Assembly of God Faith. A member of the Moose Lodge No. 1385 and VFW, Panama City. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at Vernon Assembly of God with the Rev. Mrs. Cora M. Lemasters "Mom," age 97, of 9119 Tracy Way, Panama City, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at her residence. Mrs. Lemasters was born in Oldenburg, Ind., and had lived in the Panama City area since 1996, moving here from Hackettstown, N.J. She had owned and operated Lemasters Cleaners in Hackettstown for many years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Panama City. She is survived by her sons, Carl Lemasters and his wife Joan of Evanston, Ill., Norman Lemasters and his wife Doris of Great Meadows, N.J., Raymond Lemasters and his wife Angie of Hackettstown, N.J.; a loving daughter-in-law and caregiver, Betty Lemasters of Panama City; 11 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Lemasters Sr. and two granddaughters, Linda Robertson and Patrice Lemasters. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Father William Brown officiating. Mr. Mitchell Lewis McNeil, age 61, of 4528 Wages Pond Road, Chipley, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001 at his residence. He has been a lifetime resident of the area and was Protestant by faith. Mrs. Ruby Inez Ray, 91, of West Bay, Fla., died Sunday morning Feb. 18, 2001, in a local hospital. She was born in West Bay where she remained her entire life. She married Mr. D.R. Ray and together they owned and operated Ray's Grocery Store from 1935 to 1955. Mrs. Ray was also a member of the West Bay Advent Christian Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Mr. D.R. Ray and is survived by her two sons, Mr. John Ray and wife, Donna of Lynn Haven and Mr. Roy E. Ray and wife Myrtle of Bayou George; three daughters, Mrs. Inez Kirtsinger and husband, Carl, Doris Bass and husband, Gerald, all of Lynn Haven, and Delma Jordan and her husband Calvin of Bonifay; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. SHIRLEY BARE
Mrs. Shirley Bare, 66, of Panama City Beach died Saturday Feb. 17, 2001, after a bout with cancer. A native of Daleville, Va., Mrs. Bare lived in Panama City for seven years after moving here from Riverside, Calif. She was a mother extraordinaire and the best cook on the planet. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Boyd B. Bare; three sons: David W. Bare, Benjamin B. Bare and Brian B. Bare; two sisters, Betty Breedlove and Carol Tarwater. Jordan Jeffery Fletcher, age 11, of Indian Pass, Fla., born Nov. 8, 1989, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2001. Jordan is survived by his loving parents, Jeffery Harold and Debra Nicole Fletcher and one sister, Brittany Nicole Fletcher, age 12. Jordans grandparents are Frank and Margaret Fletcher of Indian Pass and Mike and Sherry Anderson of Panama City; great-grandmothers, Dorothy Haddock of Chipley and Connie Taylor of Lynn Haven. Mr. Harry Jay Jones, age 73, of 222 Attu St., Panama City Beach, Fla., died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at his residence. Mr. Jones was born in Bessemer, Ala., and had lived in the Panama City Beach area since 1988, moving here from Birmingham, Ala. He was a member of St. Thomas by the Sea Episcopal Church.
