Ona Jane Wilkins, 72, of Panama City Beach, passed away at her home on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000. She was a retired bookkeeper, church secretary, domestic engineer and most of all, a beloved wife, mother and friend. A native of Rushville, Ind., she had lived in Panama City Beach since 1994. "Miss Ona" is survived by her husband, Wallace Wilkins of Panama City Beach; two sons, Wayne Wilkins of Senoia, Ga., and Scott Wilkins and wife, Janet of Athens, Ga.; grandchildren, Rachel and Taylor Wilkins of SugarLand, Texas. Mrs. Marie F. Bailey, 73, died Sunday, Dec. 3, in Orange Park, Fla. She was born in Georgia and moved to Orange Park in 1987 from Panama City. Mrs. Bailey and her late husband, Howard S. Bailey Jr., owned Bailey Investment and Insurance Company in Panama City. She is survived by her son, Marcus M. Bailey; daughters, Beth Hamilton and Gail B. Stiles; and seven grandchildren, including the light of her life, Kevin. Mrs. Helen Blile, 75, Panama City Beach, Fla., died Sunday Dec. 3, 2000, at a local nursing facility. She had been a resident of the area for 12 years after coming from Birmingham, Ala. Mrs. Blile attended St. Anthony's Grade School and St. Paul's High School in Birmingham. She also was a former member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Birmingham. Mrs. Blile was an accountant for U.S. Steel and retired from T. M. Burgin Demolition Co. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Vines of Montgomery, Ala., and Agnes Cost of Birmingham; a brother, Joe Captain of Birmingham; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn T. Blile; her mother and father, Joe and Anna Captain; and a sister, Frances Newell. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Elmwood Cemetery
in Birmingham. Mrs. Blile's nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Beulah M. Carter, 87, of Panama City, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at her home. Born in Greensboro, Ga., she moved here on June 9, 1979, from Griffin, Ga. She was the first of eight children and worked as a nurse's aid in Griffin Hospital during World War II. She was a retired legal secretary and court reporter in Atlanta and Griffin, Ga. She graduated from Griffin High School and Atlanta Business College and Law School. Mrs. Carter also played the piano for church and civic organizations. She won several competition awards for piano. She was also a Literacy Volunteer of America, was a volunteer with the Council on Aging's "Meals on Wheels." Her husband, Joseph Allison Carter; her parents, Arthur and Lee Mauney and four brothers, Ray, Horace, Arthur Jr. and Dick, precede her in death. Mrs. Carter is survived by her loving family: one brother, John and wife Catherine Mauney of Coral Gables, Fla.; two sisters, Elizabeth Shirley of Panama City and Barbara Gaines and husband Bill of Jasper, Ga.; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held today Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. in the recreation room of St. Andrews Towers, 24 Harrison Ave., Panama City, with brother John Barton officiating.

Ruth C. Comer, 96, died Nov. 16, 2000, of a liver condition. She passed away at the home of her son in De Soto, Iowa. She was a resident of Panama City, Fla., from October 1990 until June of this year. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church of Panama City.

Eloise S. Gandy, 62, of 7040 Oakenshaw Road, Youngstown, died Friday Dec. 1, 2000 in a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Panama City. Mrs. Gandy was a homemaker and dedicated most of her life helping out those in need. Mrs. Gandy is survived by three sons, K. Michael Gandy, Charles F. Gandy and Marcus Gandy, all of Panama City; one daughter, Kathy Redmond of Arkansas; two brothers, James Seaborn of Callaway, Bobby Seaborn of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in the area. The family request memorilization by cremation and private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Alline L "Grandma" Hizer, 79, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in a local hospital. She had been a resident of Panama City for 11 years after moving here from Indiana

Clinton Brice Thorp, 66, of Wausau, Fla., passed from this life on Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at the Bay Medical Center in Panama City. He had been a resident of Wausau since 1986 after coming from Washington. He was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Anne C. Aguirre, Master Sgt. USAF, (Retired), 53, of Port St. Joe, Fla., died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in Bay Medical Center. Born in Folkston, Ga., she worked at Citizens Federal in Port St. Joe for the past five years as a head teller. She was a veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm/Shield Veteran serving in the USAF. She was stationed at Tyndall with the 325th Communications Squadron. She retired from the military after 22 years of service. Mrs. Aguirre is survived by her mother, Ollie M. Rhoden; her husband, David M. Aguirre; one son, Michael D. Aguirre; one stepson, David M. Aguirre; one stepdaughter, Anne M. Lewalan; one sister, Helen L. Brown; six stepgrandchildren: Michael, Kimberly, Ashlee, Mackenzie, Laci and Josephine. Mrs. Anna L. Miller, age 74, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at a local rehab facility. She was a native of Omaha, Neb., and had lived in Panama City for 33 years, moving here from San Diego, Calif. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing and was a member of a local seniors' dance club.
