Calista Galena Buchanan, 89, of Blountstown, died Sunday in the Calhoun Hospital in Blountstown. Buchanan was born in Iowa and was of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of the late James Ashley Buchanan and was a longtime resident of Los Angeles, Calif. Survivors include grandaughters, B.J. Bailey and Heidi Rydeard of Blountstown; great-grandson and wife, John Henry Bailey IV and wife Pam of Panama City; two great-grandchildren, John Henry Bailey V and Derek William Bailey of Panama City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Adama Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Plazarin officiating. Interment will follow in the Nettle Ridge Cemetery

Mary Gianera Fleming, 95, of 7505 Coleridge Road, in Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000, at a local hospital. She was born in Socorro, N.M., and had been a resident of this area since 1978, moving here from Kansas City, Mo. Fleming was Catholic by faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Fleming worked hard all her life and enjoyed traveling and collecting coins. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Wood and her husband Jim of Panama City; a son, Anthony "Tony" Apodaca and wife Dorthy of Santa Fe, N.M.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and four brothers. A private memorial service will be held in Socorro, N.M., at a later date.

Marion B. Hottendorf died on Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at the Bay Center Eldercare in Panama City. Marion (Kelleher) Hottendorf was born in 1904 in New York City and lived in Panama City since 1970. She was predeceased by her husband, George H. Hottendorf; a son, Dr. Girard H. Hottendorg; a son-in-law, William T. Bevan; an infant grandaughter and an infant grandson. Hottendorf is survived by her daughters, Gloria Bevan of Panama City and Marie Frischmann and husband, John Frischmann of Shell Lake, Wis., daughter-in-law, Hilde Hottendorf of Charleston, S.C.; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Marion Hottendorf will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Special thanks are expressed to Phillip Cauthen and the staff of Bay Center Eldercare for their loving care. Mass will be held today, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Zalewski officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemtery. Fed Allen Hunter, 80, of 243 Lakeview Drive, Wewahitchka, Fla., died Sunday, Sept. 3 2000, at his residence. He had been a resident of the area since 1965, moving here from Mobile, Ala. Theodore L. Sprankle, 67, of 10401 River Alley Road, Youngtown, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000, at his home. He was a retired utilities manager at Stone Container Company.
