Mr. Marvin Hall, U.S. Army (Ret.), of Fort Lyon, Colo., formerly of Panama City, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, as the result of an automobile accident in Colorado. Born in Marianna, Fla., he was raised in Panama City. He joined the Army as a young man to become a career soldier. He traveled to many locations worldwide and served his country in Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded with several honors including the Bronze Star and Air Metal for Meritorious Achievement and two Purple Hearts. Marvin retired in Colorado Springs and Los Animas, Colo. Mr. Hall was the father of four children, Jaquilin, Craig, Kevin and Kelly; grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of one; seven brothers and sisters, Broward, Lester, Sally, Viola, Esther, Louise and Carolyn. He was a friend to countless others. No words can express our feeling of loss and our depth of love for him. God bless you and thank you Dad. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 16, at 3 p.m., in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Steve Southerland II officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded at graveside by Fort Rucker honor guard.

CAROLYN SHERMAN LARSON
Carolyn Sherman Larson, 65, of Panama City died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, in her home. She was a school teacher for Bay County School System and also had taught at Gulf Coast Community College. She had been a resident of Bay County all her life. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Arthur Larson and his wife, Sherry of Rossville, Ga., Leland Paul Larson and his wife Elaine of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Lynn Larson VanBerschot and her husband Richard Thomas of Andalusia, Ala.; father, Thomas Jefferson Sherman Sr.; two brothers, Walter C. Sherman and his wife Wanda, Thomas Jefferson Sherman Jr. and his wife Gwen, all of Panama City and 12 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held today at 3 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery
with the Dr. Richard White officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2:30 p.m. today.

WILLIAM HENRY MARGINOT
Mr. William Henry Marginot, 68, of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away Tuesday evening, June 13, 2000, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Boston, Mass. to Mary and Rudolph Marginot who predeceased him. He retired from Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No. 100 in Maryland and moved to Panama City Beach in 1988. Mr. Marginot served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the VFW Post 10555, a life member of the military Order of the Cooties, life member of Irish War Veteran Post No. 17, a member of BPO Elks No. 1598, Loyal Order of Moose No. 1389, Moose Legion No. 182, life member of Am Vets No. 47, American Legion Post No. 0268, Rakkasans No. 18th Airborne RCT, an associate member of Fleet Reserve No. 346 and Sub-vets, Sea Wolf Base. Mr. Marginot is survived by his wife, June S. Marginot of Panama City Beach; one daughter, Joni Armstrong of Adelphi, Md.; two sons, William H. Marginot Jr. and wife Crawford of Marfa, Texas, Rudolph M. Marginot and wife Cammi of Charlotte, N.C.; four step-daughters, Stacy Benton of Parker, Lori Martin and husband Russell, Lisa Ammons all of Ozark; four sisters, Dorothy Ahern of Boston, Mass., Patricia Busi of Maryland, Phyllis S. Reimink and husband Maynard of Panama City Beach, Jean Foster of Gaithersburg, Md.; one brother, Charles Marginot and wife Joan of Vienna, Va., and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 16, at 10 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Mr. Carl Eugene Raffield Sr., of 110 21st Place, Port St. Joe, Fla., died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at his home. He was a lifelong resident of this area and was the owner and operator of Raffield Fisheries. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Port St. Joe and was a member of Gulf County School Board for 24 years. MILDRED INEZ TYNER SIKES
Mildred Inez Tyner Sikes was born Jan. 21, 1918, one of eight children of the Laurel Hill pioneer family of Joseph William Tyner and Maggie Hutto. After graduating from Laurel Hill High School in 1937, Inez, as she was known to her exensive family and friends, attended beautician college and in a few years she opened her own business. In March of 1949, she married United States Congressman Bob Sikes, Northwest Florida's legendary "He-Coon." They were divorced in 1983. During their marriage, Inez Sikez was one of the three women to serve as President of the Florida State Society in Washington, D.C., and she traveled to all parts of the world with her husband. Despite her cosmopolitan experiences as a congressional wife, Inez Sikes' first love was being a homemaker, an excellent cook and a expert gardener. Inez Sikes was preceded in death by her brothers, Marshall Tyner, Phil Tyner, Theodore Tyner and Nolan Tyner; her sister, Myrtice Tyner and her ex-husband, Bob Sikes. She is survived by her beloved siblings, Irene Tyner Stevenson, Paul Tyner and Joseph William Tyner Jr.; stepchildren, Bobbye Sikes Wicke and Robert K. Sikes; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Whitehurst Funeral Home today, June 15, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Dick Wright and the Rev. Donnie Cadenhead officiating. Willie Bell, age 47, of Vernon, died June 10, at N.W.F.C. Hospital in Chipley. He was a native of Vernon, of the Methodist faith and employed by D.O.T for more than 20 years. Mrs. Mary Ida Curry, 79, of 918 Church Ave., died Monday, June 12, 2000, in the National Health Care Center. She was a native of Red Bay, Fla., and attended the Walton County Public School System. Mother Mary confessed Christ at an early age and always maintained her membership in The Church of God in Christ wherever she lived. Mother Curry joined Holy Temple COGIC upon her return to Panama City. She served as Holy Temple's Church Mother and was a Sunday School Teacher. She loved her church and was a living example of the Proverbs 31 woman. She offered her hands as God's hands, her feet as God's feet and was a woman after God's own heart. Her quiet calming and humble manner set the standard for the women of the congregation. Mother Curry was always available to give support to the activities of the church she loved so dearly. Mother Curry leaves a legacy of wisdom, strength and many loving memories. Mary Ida leaves to cherish her memory, a loving husband, Eddie Curry; her son, Eddie Rosselle Curry; daughter-in-law, Virgil; grandchildren: Angela, Austin and Darion; three great-grandchildren, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Lou Ella Wright of Panama City; two brothers, James E. Ponds of Washington D.C., Henry Wilkerson (Mildred) of Red Bay, Fla. She also loved and is lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, too numerous to mention but not forgotten. James Grady "Jim" Edwards, 73, of Mexico Beach and formerly of Marianna, died Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at his residence. He was a native of Dothan, Ala., a retired supervisor at Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater, and a member of Marianna Elks Lodge No. 1516. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marian Cowart Edward. Mrs. Elouise Eldridge age, 69, of 1135 E. 24th Plaza, Panama City, Fla., died Wed., June 14, 2000, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area since 1970, coming here from Bonifay, Fla. Mrs. Eldridge was a member of Springfield Community Church. She enjoyed traveling and All Night Gospel Sings. Mrs. Eldridge is survived by four sons: Mike Eldridge and his wife Lynne, Randall Eldridge and his wife Diana, Wendell Eldridge, and Morgan Eldridge, all of Panama City; two daughters, Dianne Quick and her husband Lendy and Sonya Heathcock and her husband Lee, all of Panama City; a brother, Durwood Smith of Orange Park; a sister, Betty Mathews of Dothan; a brother-in-law, Thomas Williams of Dothan; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of loving family and friends.
