Ilene E. Jensen, 68, of Wewahitchka, Fla., went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 16, 2000, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Algot G. Jensen. She was a loving mother, and is survived by Scarlet A. Harvell (James) of Lexington, Va., Sandra L. Husband (Jack) of Wewahitchka, James W. Jensen (Connie) of Wewahitchka, Franklin H. Jensen (Cheryl) of Port Richey, Fla. and Walter E. Jensen (Teresa) of Panama City; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at Dalkeith Baptist Church on Thursday, May 18, at 1 p.m. CDT with the Rev. Johnny Newton officiating. Interment will follow in Buckhorn Cemetery. Visitation will be held this evening, May 17, at Comforter Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. CDT.

Mrs. Vera Mae Porter, age 73, of 1002 W. 12th Court, Panama City, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at a local nursing facility. She had been a lifetime resident of the area and was Protestant by faith. Mrs. Porter worked for Gardner's Drug Store before she retired. Carole Inez Quick, 59, of Norcross, Ga., formerly of Bay County, Fla., died May 15, 2000. Mr. Thomas Leroy Maultsby, 55, of Panama City, Fla., died Saturday, May 13, at his home. He was retired from Southern Bell/AT&T and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. OFIE PERKINS
Mr. Ofie Perkins, age 80, of 141 Cindy Lane, Panama City Beach, Fla., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1987, coming here from Baltimore, Md. Mr. Perkins served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in France. He enlisted as a private and was discharged as a captain. Mr. Perkins received the Silver Star and received a battlefield commission. He was a member of VFW (Inlet Beach), American Legion in Maryland, the Moose Lodge and a member of AARP. He was also a member of Gulfview United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed many church activities. Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Perkins of Panama City Beach; a son, Roger Perkins and his wife Patricia of Newport, R.I.; a daughter, Cheryl Hill of Jonesboro, Ga.; grandchildren, Michael Perkins of Jacksonville, Jeffrey Perkins of Odessa, Texas, Shaunda Boucugnani and her husband David of Bogart, Ga., and Keith Hill and Tara Hill, both of Jonesboro, Ga.; a great-grandchild, Alexis Boucugnani; a sister, Bonnie Elizabeth Johnston of Mineral Wells, W. Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 19, at Gulfview United Methodist Church with the Rev Si Mathison and the Rev. Jim Fillingim officiating.
